Apparently Rodgers is going to have a "15million pound war chest" for the summer, don't know how much I believe that. But I see Lee Congerton has been appointed to find players for BR has anyone got an idea of how good this guy actually is?

Apparently uncovered Coutinho and identified Neymar before he ended up at Barca.

Were some of Europe's top clubs not all after both Neymar and Coutinho whilst in Brazil?

{Ed007's Note - Liverpool bought Coutinho from Inter Milan who had signed him when he was 16 and Inter then loaned him straight back to Vasco de Gama for two seasons. He spent 3 years in Italy- one on loan at Espanyol - so I'm doubting the story that Congerton was the only scout to have noticed him. As for Neymar, every big team in Europe were trying to sign him with Chelsea being very keen and very close for a couple of years. Real Madrid and Man Utd were also willing to match any offer the lad got, well apart from the dodgy stuff that's came out lol.}

I'm not getting on Congerton's back but I thought a fair few clubs were after Neymar and Coutinho being at Inter, well, he was hardly unearthed, as even I'd heard of him!

Smelt a bit of rubbish wae that one too ed. Can't remember the full article but even in that one peice Rodgers seemed to contradict himself on Congerton when he was talking about him finding those 2. He's just trying to big him up which is fair enough.

{Ed007's Note - Thinking about it, was Rodgers maybe meaning it was Congerton that first mentioned the players to him when they were young teenagers? I have absolutely no doubts in my mind at all that Congerton will improve the success rate of our transfer dealings. John Park found us some cracking players over the years but he also made some major blunders, especially in the striker department.}

Correct Ed he first spotted their potential when they were about 14 yearold.

{Ed007's Note - That makes a lot more sense.}

He's a hard one to assess. I can't say for certain which signings exactly were 'his'. Sunderland wasted some money during his time there; and was there not talk on here of Liverpool shaking up their recruitment dept. (admittedly I don't know if LC was part of the shake up or part of the cause of the shake up. ) ? But I agree with Ed that after JP's reign, as a whole, I'm looking forward to see what he brings.

{Ed007's Note - I wouldn't read too much into his time at Sunderland, behind the scenes politics have been a serious problem there for years and money promised by the board never materialised.}

Granted, SAFC are a bit of a circus and a few managers have had run ins with those in the board room.

I always felt we needed a striker coach that could double up as a scout and I know from the past you never fancied that equation but it's just with us trying to unearth "rough diamonds" a felt we needed a rethink

Having said that it was henrik that "talked up" Mo Bangurq and that never panned out well!

What you thinking position wise in the transfer market? A think there really only be two in RW and CF and if SA got a new deal that be fab would love to hear of a real quality Bosman coming in that would be the icing on the cake for me.

Solanke and Fischer for me would be good business.
