I hope Big Toms career does not take a dip when he return from injury. Definitely a player we've been missing the past few months. He can be an absolute game changer for us.

{Ed007's Note - Rogic's due to play in tomorrow's Development League match against ICT and if he comes through that unscathed the plan is that he will go into the squad for Sunday.}

Thanks for the info ED. Massive fan of Rogic. I'd imagine he will take a while to build his fitness level again.

{Ed007's Note - For me it's something that will need addressed in the summer, are we going to keep hoping and gambling that Rogic will avoid injury and consistently give us 90 mins or should we look at replacing him? We definitely need someone else in the squad who can play No.10 as imo Rogic is always going to struggle with the workload we put on players.}

It's frustrating what goes on with Rogic. The fact that BR doesn't come out and criticise him the way he did with LG would lead you to believe he's just got really bad luck.

{Ed007's Note - Maybe that was more to do with attitude and application, Kev. You can't dig up a player for picking up injuries if he's doing everything you're asking of him and telling him to do but you can dig one up who you know is simply not working hard enough in training and who isn't following the Club's advice about lifestyle/conditioning.
Rodgers has came out and said the exact same things that Ronny Deila was criticised for regarding what's expected from players and the way they live their lives, it was the main topic of conversation between Rodgers and Scott Brown when they first met at Rodgers' house.}

For me, the CAM is the most important member of the team in a 4-2-3-1. In Rogic's absence we've struggled at times and even changed our general shape a wee bit. We don't have anybody else like Rogic, and sadly imo, he's become unreliable. I'd go all out and get that 'marquee' in the summer for CAM as well as a RAM. Perhaps a CB and a 'keeper too, as well as cover for LB unless Izzy signs or Miller is ready to play there.

4.) 30 Mar 2017
30 Mar 2017 15:09:30
That's what I meant Ed, Rogic must be the victim of bad luck with injury because BR would probably have given him the LG treatment by now if he wasn't working hard enough.

{Ed007's Note - Would you bring in someone as back-up or would you bring in someone and make Rogic the understudy? I love Rogic but the difference in the team since he's been injured and we've switched to 4-3-3 is night and day compared to how we were playing earlier in the season and I'm not buying the fatigue excuse as we went to Dubai to recharge the batteries knowing what was coming up when the season restarted after the break.}

5.) 30 Mar 2017
30 Mar 2017 17:13:50
Agree JimTim, bring in a real quality CAM and make a statement. If Rogic comes back strong then it's a great headache for BR to have, if not then at least we won't struggle without him. I'd love a little magician in the mould of Lubo.

I'd go for someone better. Surely if we're to progress we need to improve wherever possible. A think a better player would cost an arm n a leg tho unless we go young again.

{Ed007's Note - I noticed Rogic didn't play in the Development League match earlier which I was told was the plan.}

30 Mar 2017 17:43:04
My thoughts exactly Kev. We need to continue to make statements. There's got to be money there left from the CL kitty, plus potentially another 30m windfall. I've said for a few seasons if we want to continually be a CL side, we need to operate like one, and invest the income from the CL and any players sales properly.

And with you Steph. Ideally a player already better. A CAM with great feet, great vision and a great strike don't come cheap. I'd take a player who might not quite be better yet as long as they had real pedigree.

If Rogic comes back strong where do we see Armstrong playing? I don't see him sitting back along with Brown or do we change to a 4-1-4-1.

{Ed007's Note - When we play 4-2-3-1 Armstrong plays beside Brown in the 2 slot, when we play 4-3-3 Armstrong plays on the left hand side of the midfield 3 with Brown on the right and Bitton in the middle sitting in front of the defence.
Stuart Armstrong NEVER plays as a CAM/No.10, watch the way we play and it's obvious, I don't know what games people are watching when they say he plays as a CAM, he never has for Celtic and why would we move someone from a position where he shines out, it's up there with the moronic let's play KT at LW garbage people come out with.}

30 Mar 2017 23:50:12
Nail on the head edwina, av had the same argument wae ma mates. Armstrong is best alongside brown in a 4-2-3-1 all day long. Why play anyone out of position when your no desperate? Especially when it's your better performers.

{Ed007's Note - I don't know where it came from but there's a lot of fans who seem to remember Armstrong play as a No.10, he never played there for Dundee Utd either.}

Some people like to rewrite history, Ronnie wasn't criticised because he said the same things nutition wise.

{Ed007's Note - Aye right then lmfao. There were 'supporters' on his case because he banned tomato sauce!}

12.) 31 Mar 2017
31 Mar 2017 00:06:53
Think my reply went of too soon, what i was trying to say was that Ronnie wasn't criticised because of his nutrition,24 HR athlete, thing, it was because in Ronnie's case, that was the only and the most important thing, you can't teach an old dog new tricks but you can train an old dog over time to do the new tricks by using more softer methods, and you can take a horse to the water but you can't make him drink, but if you keep him there long enough, that horse will drink, because he is dying of thirst, Ronnie didn't understand this, and the Ronnie worshippers didn't and still don't understand how he didn't understand.

{Ed007's Note - RD said you you need to be at your peak mentally and physically to be the best player you can be, Rodgers - like every other modern manager - totally agrees with Ronny Deila. Ronny Deila was chastised for having the exact same philosophy as Rodgers. If you're not looking after yourself and applying yourself 100% to their 24/7 athlete philosophy then you won't be playing for Celtic.
Where did all the Commons and Scott Allan should be playing posts go to? If RD was clueless for not playing them why isn't Rodgers facing the same criticism? }

31 Mar 2017 01:30:22
There was zero respect for Ronnie fae the media scumbags from day one, unfortunately that set in amongst our own. Saying that he couldn't handle the pressure n a wouldn't swap Rodgers for anyone right now. Not even mancini haha.

@ Bhoywonder, Sigurdsson is a very effective player. I'm fairly sure he takes pens, but Swansea would probably already be down if it wasn't for his goals and assists. Is he cost effective though? I know I'm saying make a statement, but we've got to stay sensible and it would all depend on what Swansea wanted. I'd prefer somebody a wee bit younger, ideally. He'd do the business for us though no doubt 👍.

@ Steph/ Bond, bang on. All I'll add is that RD was criticised for playing SA at LAM. Given how well Brown, Bitton and Johansen were playing at times, it was understandable and at least SA wasn't left to stagnate.

@ Aindoh, you've been triggered again 😆😉. I can't take anything away from BR and his team, but I have no doubts BR will have found the job easier having come in on the back of a lot of the changes and work done by RD. He was good for us, better than would meet a lot of people's eyes.

{Ed007's Note - I still say we made a mistake selling Johansen but his mind was made up by the complete morons in our support booed him and verbally abused him. I have no doubts in my mind that he would have flourished under Rodgers and his system.}

delia admitted the other day he couldn't take the team any further after the semi final defeat to sevco, he was taking us backwards, rogic will be back with a 25 yarder against sevco to banish memories of his penalty miss, hearing rodgers not happy with a few things behind the scenes with the board.

I just cannot buy in to this player fatigue or tired after a hard midweek game. These are professional footballers, it's their only job.

They have dieticians, doctors, physios, psychologists, trainers, coaches. If they have an injury they get sent to top specialists. They travel to / from venues in comfort. Their work clothes are all laid out and ready for them.

They work at their day time job for about 90 minutes a shift.
There are usually ten other players working with them when they do their job and, if things are not going to plan, they may be swapped out with no loss of bonuses or pay.

Speaking of which, many of them earn a damn site more money than the punters who don't have access to all the previous help but turn up week in week out paying for the privilege of supporting these professionals.

Tennis players can be on court for hours on their own covering a lot more distance and then may have to do the same again two days later.
So, IMO, let's put this tired legs sh*t to bed once and for all.

Try working 5/6 14 hour shifts on a North Sea oil rig or on the roads repairing.
Rant over but it gets my back up when I hear the tiredness drivel being spouted.

I was not keen on RD at the beginning as I felt he was really not experienced enough to take on the job at Celtic. I did warm to his ideas and philosophy and, supported by various comments on here.

I was ok giving benefit of but He lost me fully when it was obvious he never had a plan B or C when plan A was failing. The only changes he made were to players but they still followed plan A.

Rodgers has a plan B and C and when he changes players its usually to replace players and keep the pressure of a succesfully working plan A or to change the system to plan B.
Rodgers also has the experience, strength and charisma to manage a club like ours.

People get the wrong idea about everything, that's what's wrong with the world, i don't want to go into that but, i just can't believe there are still people on here, who still believe that the only thing wrong with Ronnie, was that he was getting a hard time from the media, i can't believe there are people on here who believe that Rodgers is benefiting from Ronnie's groundwork, maybe in one way, that being the players are thankful they at least have a manager now, who can manage the team selections and tactics and team talks, rather than Ronnie who managed to tell them, it wasn't a good idea to put tomato sauce on their cornflakes, although i don't really want to criticise these worshippers too much, if it gives them some comfort to praise Ronnie, at least that is something.
