Here's a direct quote from ex-referee Dermot Gallagher on yesterday's penalty claim:

"It's the 89th minute, it's 1-1, he can't afford to get it wrong. The biggest way to get it wrong is to give a penalty that wasn't, and I think that's the bigger mistake than not giving a penalty that was. "

Surely I'm not the only person who thinks that's absolute bulls**t?

He's talking out his rectum - although I assume it was on SLY and they have always have an anti-Celtic agenda.
If the incident had perchance been at the other end we all know that madden would not have hesitated to help his favourites - like he had done all afternoon. Add to that:-
Miller should have been off as well as the persistent offender Hill - who would then not have scored that goal.
I know we had an off day but cheating is cheating and why BR or anyone else has not mentioned it is very frustrating.

Dermott Gallagher is actually a massive Celtic fan, look it up. Its obviously just his opinion. Right or wrong.

I don't agree with you on the anti-Celtic agenda and don't see why Clint Hill would be sent off except if the penalty had been given at the end. I like to leave the referee blame game to other folk as a lot of posters on here are way over the top. We were rubbish yesterday and I'm more concerned about that and hope we get a big reaction in the semi-final.

Kevbhoy you are correct well said. Having said that it was a penalty, but we were way below par and to be fair only deserved a share of the points. Must do better in the semi.

{Ed007's Note - Yours is that great you answered on the wrong thread (facepalm)

Wasn't talking about Hill and the penalty - I was referring to his numerous unpunished infringements that should have warranted at least two yellow cards in the first half alone.
We all know we were poor yesterday - as I said as much in several posts after the game. However the refereeing was outrageously biased and did influence the game - whether we were poor or not.

I know you were Passing Time and I never saw anything that merited Hill getting booked or sent off apart from the penalty that should have been. Again, I'll let others deal with the "outrageously biased" referee. At the end of the day, if we show up at Hampden we're through. HH.

@passingtime - if you check most of the threads on here pre Sunday it was all 'the ref will have no bearing' as nearly everyone was betting / predicting 4, 5, 6 or 7 nil, Celtic -2 etc. Instead of moaning about the ref, would you not be better debating why Celtic were so poor?

I'll start it off if you like - I blame Brenda's strange substitutions as Celtic were in total control up until then. Did complacency or over confidence creep in with him? Maybe he's starting to believe the hype just like he did at Liverpool?

union jack what was the strange substitution you keep yammering on about? bitton going off after Waghorn the fat twats assault or Armstrong coming off with tight calf's should they have stayed on and further injured themselves?

Uj, don't try and make out as if it was the manager, we all know he had to make those subs. We don't fall for someones repetitive bull, we leave that to you gullibles. Worry about the fact your new bullfighter has started lying to your lot from the get go. Should be amusing.

@big. d - I would have thought LG for Dembele would have been the shout as Moussa was rank rotten.
Plus if you listen to Armstrong after the game he was being very coy after the game about how bad his supposed injury was. I would have thought Sinclair should have been off instead as he had a poor game.

We'll find out how bad Armstrong's injury is this weekend.
In my opinion the balance of the team after the substitutions changed the game in Rangers favour later on but if you're happy that only the ref caused Celtic to drop points then roll on the semi final.

@bhampot - you're normally better than that. Don't get taken in by the headlines from the Daily Rebel or Scottish Hun. Read his full Interview. He's hardly going to come in and publicly state they are the worst Rangers team ever ( copyright any #celticfamily in the media ) . And if your gullible to listen to the repetitive bull that it's all the referees fault when you drop points then more fool you.
P. S. Sorry for suggesting Brenda's halo 😇 had slipped, I didn't realise people were a wee bit precious on here. I won't mention it again. Well not until after the semi final if he hasn't learned his lesson. 😉.
