I like the look of the new development plans but i have severe reservations.
Im all for improving training facilities but the retail plans are madness imo. I work in this trade and there is zero chance this will be a profit spinner in any decent time frame v the build costs. The hotel yeah. Great idea if it's competitive, close to the city etc. No disrespect but the footfall in the area can't support it, the city is awash with numerous eateries all after the same numbers, people won't jump the subway and walk to it through parkhead. Cut the catchment again as it will be a Tim only complex . Match days it could be a huge earner. Massive. We have to be very careful how we do it. Push for a higher spend per head type and it won't work. Balance that against it being a nice place to go with decent grub and facilities that's the tough bit and I don't think it's possible . Matchdays with travel and tickets cost the earth. The biggest spend should be a multi story car park and major road development. The cost of this quite frankly are monstrous and outside or reach. Nice idea though.
How many units in the complex are rumoured? What is the hotel capacity out of interest?
I don't want to pi$$ on chips but we need to curb our enthusiasm slightly. Everything right now should be going into our squad and training grounds. Jumping through hoops to get a cl final stadium isn't in our current budget.

I don't know what the £ backhander is for hosting a final. I'm hoping the unseen has agreed this guarantee prior to the first shovel breaking the earth.
For me this type of investment can only be justified if we show consistent profits akin to the ones shown this year. We have had a GREAT year. I think we are pushing this a bit early . Great bit of pr muscle flexing.

Rg i bow to your greater knowledge in this field, but during the season and with a home game every second week do u not think the place would b mobbed, never mind xmas party nights CL nights corporate events and just people wanting the experience of staying in the celtic hotel. Personally i think it would do fine.

Events at Celtic Park and the Emirates Arena should bring good business. To say cut the numbers because its a TIM only complex is utter nonsense, people from outside the goldfish bowl couldn't give a toss about that crap. Athletes, businessmen and tourists wouldn't think twice about Scottish small mindedness. Im afraid for someone " in the business" as you say, your letting yourself and your arguement down with being narrow minded and completely negative. We don't need PR tricks unlike our skint neighbours. Its all about building for the future, the main stand should be improved next, then i think we are ready for any changes in where the club competes in football, whatever league or super league that may be.

Try getting a decent hotel in centre of Glasgow monday thru thursday any month of the year. I am often out in Bothwell, nots that's its much of a problem with the new road but Decent Glasgow hotels are booked up all week. No idea about weekend availability but don't see why Celtic hotel would not do as well as any other Glasgow hotel?
