A minutes silence is to be held in remembrance of the Ibrox disaster on Hogmanay which the media would love not to be observed. It hasn't been publicised probably in the hope it isn't observed. I hope it is observed impeccably so as not to embarrass the team or the manager or fire up the Huns any more than they already will be.

My experience is that the minutes silence has always been observed by the Celtic support when I've been there. While I can't understand why anyone would not want to respect the memory of those who lost their lives it's easy to get caught up in the atmosphere particularly when we'll be subjected to untold sectarian anti-catholic bigoted chanting beforehand.

I hope any Celtic fans who don't feel capable of taking their abuse then respecting their silence would stay outstide the stadium rather than embarrass the club. PS: I sense a Hogmanay Humbling of the Hun by the Hoops is on the cards 🍀.

James am not surprised at all they're banned. The polis were never going to allow it, you're not even allowed a bottle of coke in! Apart from fear of some person chucking one into them, it's far too much fun for Strathclydes finest.

45 dead and 200 injured

It demands acknowledgement, respect and rememberamce

They will be wetting themselves if someone sneezes ( and let's be honest, someone will)

You'll get the guys not in the stadium making their way in having just tanned 10 cans of lager in ten minutes and then that guy in a group of ten ( the quiet one) who will sieze upon the opportunity to strike a blow believing that he go from " last to be asked out for a pint" to 9th to be asked

There will always be 1 or 2 or 5 but in the context of 7500 it's really nothing at all and we all know that

The offended will then use this to justify rattling out anti catholic rhetoric multiple times and not even contemplate the irony of it all

Bampotery is part and parcel of society in every context and we have a few

The smart media thing to do is to highlight on the air and on the TV ( when it happens) is to say either nothing or to tell it like it was / is

A tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny ( possible as little as 3 or 4 ) mocked the minutes tribute. IE the truth

As ed would say, let the panty wetters pee their pants and let the games begin

They are not wrong to have their minutes silence. We'd do the same but thank goodness we haven't had a disaster to speak of since our incorporation

PS the whole "last successful club in the world and Scotland " stuff today in the media was beautiful. I second guessed that about 5 weeks ago. Really original.
