On Tuesday night I would probably go with Erik and Jozo at CB. Kolo has been outstanding apart from the BMG game but I'm going with the old saying: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". 3 clean sheets in 3 games since the BMG game would suggest to me that we're in a good place defensively.

12 goals conceded in champions league how on earth can you say kolo has been outstanding? We've kept more clean sheets domestically with kolo not playing our future should be jozo and Erik not kolo.

Jim it wasn't all down to kolo, his only poor game if u could call it that was BM, and he had a few goal saving tackles in that game, don't forget MC lost 4 going on ten against barca, would it be an idea to play all 3 with 2 wing backs.

Because Jim 1972 he's been very assured and composed in the vast majority of games he's played in and has been a calming influence. I don't think it's fair to cite the CL goals lost because we'd probably still have lost them with Jozo in there, we're playing against the world's best after all. His experience was priceless against Be'er Sheva which helped get us CL football in the first place. If Kolo had played the last 3 games I'm confident we still would have kept 3 clean sheets.

Think you're listening to Brendan too much regards kolo. The hapoel game away was a shambles all round and it was Erik coming on and making 3centre backs and them tiring which saw us through by a whisker not because kolo saw us through. It would also be good if people would stop puttin Barcelona Man City and borussia on super pedestals they can have bad days also it was as much us being rotten as them being great in some cases.

I'm not saying he got us there by himself but he also didn't lose all those goals by himself Jim. He's put in some really solid individual performances in my opinion and the opinion of many other supporters. As my OP said anyway, had everyone been fit I wouldn't have played him anyway.

We are lucky we have 3 top class centre backs . We are unlucky hat two are missing for tomorrow night's game . Luckily we have Lustig who for a couple of years when we hadn't seen him play centre back we had many posters saying how good a centre half he is . This season he has played centre half a couple of games and we are told he isn't a centre half . Whether he is or isn't, we will probably see him play alongside Eric tomorrow night.
