Morning Ed, was just wondering what you knew on these reported talks of a 'Northern European League'. Is it just precautionary for now? Are we talking Celtic, Rangers, Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord, Anderlecht, Club brugge, Standard, Copenhagen, Rosenborg etc?

{Ed007's Note - As soon as I seen TRIFC's name mentioned I stopped reading it.}

Fair point (pmsl)

{Ed007's Note - The guy from Copenhagen was just giving his opinion but seriously, in what world do TRIFC have the finances, stadium and infrastructure to warrant being invited to any talks? The gulf between them and clubs like Celtic, Ajax, Feyenoord etc is just as big and daunting as it is when you look at Celtic compared to the 'big boys' breakaway league, we would need hundreds of millions of investment to reach that level and TRIFC would need the millions to reach the level of the teams you's mentioned. TRIFC have not been involved in any these informal talks. If they had been they would be shouting it from their dodgy rooftops.
Do you seriously think officials from a new league and the other clubs would be happy to see carpets held together with duct tape, buckets catching water dripping from the ceiling in the hospitality area where sponsors would be sitting and that's before they even have a look at the state of their training ground. They would need million invested in their stadium and infrastructure before they even thought about buying any players. Can you imagine the current TRIFC team playing an Ajax?
Just like Celtic fans want to be part of the 'big' breakaway because of our history, fan base etc TRIFC's only claim to any new league is because they see themselves as Celtic's main rivals - they have nothing else to offer any new league unless it's hanging off Celtic's coat-tails, it's the only way they can stay relevant. Celtic are light years ahead of TRIFC in every aspect, on and off the field we have left them behind. They need us more than we need them.}

Well thanks for confirming that they're not in the talks (yes) .

I agree with what you're saying regarding the state they're in. I'd say potentially they're a big club, but there's the hurdle of still existing to get over before they even think about getting in the league of Celtic and Ajax et al. And potential isn't much when, like you say, they're so far behind.

Personally I'm happy playing in Scotland. I've gone 30 years, so what's another 30. But the landscape of European football is pretty unclear, apart from the fact it will inevitably change.

Are you being serious about the buckets and tape lol?

{Ed007's Note - Yes mate 100%, I've seen it with my own eyes and there was pictures floating about on social media a while back. Remember their laughable pie in the sky idea about volunteers helping out with odd jobs around Ibrox? That came about because the state of the place had been publicly highlighted.
Ibrox is an utter shit-hole, it's covered in rust and rotting steel and is falling apart, the seats (what shade of blue are they meant to be?) are a disgrace and should have been changed years ago, even the cheap banners they recently put up are looking tatty already. I say cheap banners but so far they've been free - the company that provided them hasn't been paid yet.}

That's why I piss myself laughing everytime I hear one of their former players say that they're still around three years behind us ed007.
Maybe if we stood still for 10 years they might catch us.
But we are building and moving forward all the time.

{Ed007's Note - Whether it's 3 years or 30 years they will always be chasing us and aspiring to be us. Remember they had to cheat for years to stay in front of us, without that they would never have reached the heights they did and they don't have that option now, so how are they ever going to catch us?}

I heard years ago the place had asbestos!

{Ed007's Note - Asbestos is fine as long as it's not disturbed to release the fibres into the air that can be inhaled/ingested.}

That whole post was a joy to read Ed. Good knowing that they are struggling as nasty as that may seem.

{Ed007's Note - They're struggling to finance the rest of the season - how many of the clubs mentioned in ANY breakaway league can say that? It's preposterous to suggest TRIFC would be involved in any of this. Celtic are simply the only club in Scotland at a level capable of representing Scotland in any European league and clubs will need to be at a certain level and meet certain criteria to join.}

Asbos and tossers

So daily rager said it was asbestos.

I have often wondered why King, Warburton and Traynor have been spouting hot air on nearly a daily basis and finally it struck me, these liars are blowing hot air to remove the particles of asbestos from the crumbling stadium.

Is it true Celtic have refused to sell tickets for the new years game until they get an all clear from an independent expert on safety matters at the crumble dome?

10.) 13 Oct 2016
13 Oct 2016 21:20:27
How's about we don't sell them any tickets for our home games? Personally I'd rather see a full house of home fans minus the damage to our own venue. Have any of the many "people" captured on video vandalising our stadium even been charged yet because I've not heard anything?

1 arrest to date I believe.

Thats an interesting thought, Jimtim, Parkhead and Ibrox full of just the home fans, whenever Celtic play The Rangers and when The Rangers play Celtic, and maybe big screens at the gameless ground, with fans paying a nominal amount to watch the non live event, surely or perhaps this would generate extra income, and less acrimonious atmosphere at the live game.

Cheers TTTS (yes)

Aindoh, it was for slightly different reasons but it was done with Sunderland/ Newcastle in the mid 90s. The game was shown at Newcastle Arena on large screens. I don't know if as a club Celtic charge any more to away clubs, but if not, what's the difference between cash out of our own pockets or cash out of the "peoples" pockets. Perhaps we're not quite at that stage yet but the cynic inside can see the toilet thing becoming a bit of a tradition.

I wasn't aware of the independently reviewed safety request. It would be trully just and fitting if the were to receive a rule book skelping that cannot be avoided or dodged. Is this the rumbling story in the pipeline that has forced the player film company tax offset story to resurface? I hope it's a bit better than that, being greedy.
They rarely talk about it but if a tradesman of any level that is a season ticket or regular in ibrox tells you a tale, listen. Don't smile. they stop talking. Smile afterwards.

they only want to join a northern atlantic league because it would start just in time to leave us stuck on 9 in a row they are terrified we get to 10 plus.

{Ed007's Note - After this story broke FC Copenhagen CEO Anders Horsholt received an e-mail from a J.Traynor in Glasgow that said... 'Let us in pal, We Arru Peepul'. And if you don't let us in I'm going to tell Big Halloween Houston and his druggie pal where you stay.'
Well it works in Scotland........

History would tell you, rglen, that something must be surfacing regarding them. Why else would previously reported incidents be dragged back up. I've had a little sniff on the "peoples" page, for my sins, and the deluded are lapping it up, putting every twist on it imaginable, as if the ways in which employees of our club, not the actual club, spend money actually gives them some sort of moral salvation. Deluded doesn't come close.
