Ever time I read more about moussa dembele my admiration grows further. can see him being one of the best strikers in the world in a few years and the best bit he will be doing it in the hoops for the next 2-3 years.

Love laughing when sevco fans tell me he isn't as good as Joe garner.

When the time comes Celtic could end up cashing in on the club's highest transfer by far. And it's all down to BR.

He was actually being tracked by the club before Rodgers came but my understanding was Brendan gave the transfer the green light when he came.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him see out his contract and move for nothing, how would fellow posters feel about that?

Rab, I can recall the press interview that RD gave in which he said all the players who he signed were "his" players. They would have technically been "his" players if they were in the squad he managed, but I wonder how many times the club has identified a player and went and bought him for potential reward without giving the manager the lowdown on him.

Bhoywonder, it would be great to bring in a massive transfer fee, yet DD has stated that Celtic don't need to sell him. It would be equally great to have a team firing on all cylinders and having one of the most exciting teams in European football with quality players playing in every position, but could our domestic game cope with one club having total domination for years to come?

RabMac, I doubt we would have got him with RD still in charge though.

Yes he had been scouted and the club were playing to make a move before Rogers came in but the Bhoy said on of the major reasons he pick our club was because of Rogers.

@Stengo - My understanding of the transfer policy under Deila was John Park and scouts identified potential signings and submitted the names to Lawwell and the manager. It would then be up to the manager to pick from the list. So while he made the decision he did not have free reign on transfers. Not sure how it worked on loan signings, although I did hear that CKR agent contacted Celtic and said his player needed out of Holland and asked Celtic to help him out. I believe Lawwell did agree because he has good relationship with the agent (hearsay though) . If true this would indicate that Lawwell has influence on loan signings as well.

@Kevbhoy - You are probably right mate, as I also suspect that Rodgers helped sway him.

Dembele may have been under the Celtic radar before Brendan Rodgers took up his appointment .
The one thing that seems likely was that Dembele had heard good reports about BR and that was what made up Dembele sign for Celtic .

Of course he has improved a lot with us, in his early weeks some posters who rate themselves excellent judges said Dembele was on a par with A Balde and others who failed with us.

Oldbhoy correct me if I'm wrong won't you but how have we improved him?, did he not score twenty odd goals in the championship last year, you are going down the same route you were with Ronnie, where he improved everything including the weather ( remarkably )

Well first thing Aindoh, he has spoken to Brendan Rodgers and is confident he won't be subjected to any form of abuse .
People like yourself were comparing Dembele to A Balde in hiss early weeks but especially since he replaced the injured Leigh Griffiths he has shown brilliant confidence and ability in particular in games against Sevco and Manchester City .

I would have thought scoring goals in the Champions League would count for more than the Championship.

You are mistaking me for dn, I read about dembele and ross McCormack ripping goals in between them, I expected him to do very well up here, much in the same way that I thought LG would be fantastic, of course, your hero Ronnie, wouldn't give him a regular game, until it was more or less forced upon him.

We are talking about Dembele Aindoh, it wouldn't have been clever for R D to play him as he was a Fulham player .
Surely one of the great successes in R D 's term was the maturity and consistent displays of a top class striker that L Griffith's became .
Nobody only a total anti Celt begrudger could deny the vast improvement R D made in Griffiths.

Old bhoy, your spot on, everyone except aindoh n 1 or 2 others who know who they r will continually attack Rd n can't bring themselves to give him any credit, but Griff maturing into the player he is, kieran Tierney becoming a first team regular, tom rogic coming to the fore, finding his form n getting injury free, introducing the youth to the 1st team n making a better route to progression, updating our sports science n backroom staff, the form of Patrick Roberts who was a big player 4 us last season, both schviatchenko n simunovic looked good under rd as did Scott brown until his injury problems kicked in.
Aindoh, will be choking on his Brendan's balls cereal now for sure.
