Oldbhoy mentioned further down the way the media treats Brendan different from the way they treated Ronnie, I know there were a lot of Ronnie worshippers, and apparently still are, and others, like myself, who saw the light early before it became bleedingly obvious that Ronnie wasn't upto the job, now my question is, did the way the media treat Ronnie reduce him to a bumbling incompetent manager, or did the media treat Ronnie that way because, he was a bumbling incompetent manager.

I personally think RD was doomed from the start bud, never backed by the board, a large section of our fans didn't take to him because he wasnt a name, plus players undermining him, RD wanted to play the same as BR, high tempo pressing game, but for some reason the players never responded, i might be in the minority but ill never slander any of our previous gaffers, he gave us 2 titles and wish him well in his new club.

I think they treated Ronnie like that because they didn't want him succeed or the Ronnie "experiment" to b a success. They can't treat Rodgers that way because he is a high profile manager with bags of experience in dealin with the press, and he would not take their crap.

I beg to differ, they will be down on zBrendan like a tonne of bricks, once the honeymoon period is over and he starts making crazy team selections and using crazy tactics.

They will try it on with every Celtic manager to a certain extent - especially the ones who hide behind a keyboard or column.
The unsettling and mischief making usually surfaces before a Sevco game or more important competitive match, but more assertive and confident Celtic managers know how to deal with it - and turn it to their advantage. Sometimes a glance or a wee word in their ear from big Jock, put their gas on a permanent peep and I'm sure other managers had their ways to keep them in line.

"Its only logical" what happened with RD. It was clear after the last Malmø game, that there was a split in the group and that this would never turn.
Rodgers is a bigger name, is a lot easier for him to get the better players and get the group to take a shine to him.
But i will have to agree with Aindoh here, BR was like Jesus his first season at LFC, but branded Judas the last two.
RD's approach is a lot like BR's and i think you will see a lot of players "out of position" in the comming season.
But you'll get CL this season, what RD never got and eventually was his downfall.

Aindoh, you are beginning to become a bit of a negative contrary and poster. If someone posted about the good weather u would reply that it won't be good when it rains again.

Aindoh you would be critical of BR if he was a different nationality and supported a different team. We have discussed this before about yourself.

DN, I will be critical of BR, when the need arises, which is something Oldbhoy could never bring himself to do about Ronnie, that was the real split last year between the supporters who recognised Ronnies incompetences and the others who blamed every one else for Ronnies failings.

Aindoh I have to correct you, I supported R D because I think he deserved my support, despite been the Celtic Manager so called Celtic fans like yourself were down on him from the outset, destroying confidence and his credibility with our players I made it clear after the Cup Semi final that I M O that was the final straw and I could not support him any more .
If the time ever comes that B R ' s Celtic team play with so little fight and determination I then will also say Brendan's time should be up.

Ronny was an idiot and dragged us down. Glad to see him gone.
