Any one of Rodgers, moyes or Keane would do for me as the next manager. In my opinion though we need a manager in straight away and that's the only reason I can't see it being Keane with him being involved at the euros this year. I don't think we can wait till that tournament is by to appoint Keane. I just hope the board do everything in they're power to bring in the very best that we can afford/ attract to Scotland.

I don't know how far we have cast the net . but restricting it to "celtic minded / irish" candidates as we seem to have done is short changing the fans imo . if an offer from an epl side came their way the 3 you mention would drop us like a hot shite.

I do agree that the 3 I've mentioned would drop us like a hot shite as u say but I think that would go for most big name managers. If we take them out the picture, who would u fancy mate?

I'd like galtier of st ettienne. who I think would possibly see celtic as a step up . an exiting one which we don't have the ambition or balls to go for is gallardo of river plate. my gripe with all these so called celtic minded managers is they would overlook us in a heart beat as they covet the epl so why do people clamour for them as if they share the same passion as us . I think a euro manager of same standing would see us as a step up or even a stepping stone which I don't mind as once they are in they like most of our euro buys find life/ football here. better than they expected.

Deep river buoy, the managers you mention would drop us in a heartbeat also. I don't get why you think it's okay for a foreign manager to use us as a stepping stone, but it's not okay for the likes of Moyes, Rodgers, etc.
I think that we should look at appointing an experienced manager, wherever he comes from, our last couple of managers have been inexperienced and it hasn't really worked. I hope we don't go down that road again.

I never said any particular manager couldn't use us a stepping stone . If they are good and it gets them in the door. whether they would drop us also is irrelevant until we should ever approach them . its this celtic minded pish that annoys me I want the best not just someone who played with us or maybe supported us or are irish. . how is that a relevant skill wise for a manager. also I don't particularly think any of them are great managers.

Apart from selling season tickets and appeasing us impatient lot, is there any need for the manager to be appointed asap? I don't think there much he can do right now, are the players not on holiday? Surely it's better to assess all the candidates and make the best decision. I'm all for Rodgers though!

i wish they would try for flores, or martinez ? so long as it ain't keane, and someone with a bit of talent then i'll be happy. i think it may be rodgers, we shall see

I really can't see Rodgers coming to Celtic. If it happens then he is as good as we can expect but not holding my breath. Think it will be a lower profile manager as I can't see him working for less than £2mill a year and Pedro won't pay that.

The financial 'penalty' that has been reported about Rogers seems very harsh? I could see Liverpool not wanting him to go to a rival, but why hinder him taking a job in another country - or have I misunderstood the situation?

{Ed001's Note - he has a contract that has to be paid up by Liverpool, unless he takes another job. It is not a penalty as such, Liverpool are just still paying his wages and the ridiculous contract off that he was given. You are better off without the clueless buffoon anyway, he has all the footballing acumen of a two year old child.}
