After lengthy debates with office colleagues we have came to the following decision we need to sign one player and only one player.

a new goalkeeper.

then we play 4-2-3-1

New GK

Lustig, Simun, Chenko, Tierney

Bitton, Brown

Christie, Allan, Roberts

Griffiths.

You have missed out one of the stand out players of this season, i. e. Rogic.

New poster but long time reader here
Why does so many celtic fans think Allan should walk into our starting line up?

@kev83

unfortunately I think it highlights the fact that many fans still think a lot about rangers. The desire for him to play and succeed perhaps comes from people wanting to be able to celebrate the fashion in which we signed him.

i don't see how allan christie roberts is going to be anywhere good enough behind griffiths. christie, roberts, allan, nesbitt all lie in the group of players who still have everything to prove at 1st team level. i'd love to see them all succeed but it will take time.

Edinbhoy I'd say Christie has done more to prove himself than allan.
He's been in the caly first team a while now.

Christie looks twice the player allan is. As does Rogic, Johansen, Commons, Armstrong and McGregor. It can't be based on what people have seen edinbhoy that's for sure.

1st division player with potential is what I see but no way a starter.

Rogic would be my main number 10 at moment

I don't know how many players Celtic have signed since rd took over but I can t think of one success. So what you and your friends have clearly done is decided what we have isn't good enough. The guys we have signed haven't been good enough. But the 5 guys in our squad who Haven't played 20 games between them will all be good enough to stay in the team long term so sign a new goal keeper and all will be well. I love your optimism.

Is your office in slough industrial state.

Kev with all due respect pal, Scott Allan was Hibs best player when we signed him so I'm not getting your point 😉 .

11 Feb 2016 18:12:55
How would anyone know that Christie Allan Roberts are good enough individually or collectively good enough to form the attacking back up to Griffiths . It's really a shot in the dark Naming these players.

13.) 11 Feb 2016
11 Feb 2016 18:43:08
Christie and Allan would supply the creativity, which has been much lacking in Ronnies teams, don't think Rogic has got it against better opposition, I would play K-R and Griffiths up front, together, the more K-R and Griffiths play together, the more they will develop into a quality goal scoring partnership, as long as K-R, screws the nut. and stays out of touble.

14.) 11 Feb 2016
11 Feb 2016 18:55:14
No doubt Rogic is a talented player but his fitness levels are a woeful. Looks like he only has the legs for 60 minutes.

15.) 11 Feb 2016
11 Feb 2016 19:12:52
I agree Des he does always look knackered. It's the main area he needs to improve imo.

I'm of the same opinion as a lot of the guys above, Allan seems to be hype about nothing. He's bang average, even watching hibs a couple of times last year, he seems to have all the swagger with little reason for it. He regularly passes the ball out the park, he might see the pass, but he rarely completes it.

It's not even the fitness of Rogic it's the level he's done well! He's done well in a dozen SPL games and we have guys calling him our player of the season! He didn't do it in the few European games he played, and only made a couple of sub appearances for Australia during that period. This is the problem at Celtic at the moment, we have guys saying Rogic is worth a fortune and should be getting a 5 year contract on the back of what I've said, and we has Scott Allan getting better every week he doesn't play! Allan has never looked fit his whole career, if you look at pictures of him in England he looks 2 stone overweight. Since then he's had 1 good season at Hibs. Deila has plenty faults and I want a change right through the club but I totally back him on this, Allan isn't getting picked because he doesn't deserve it, he's obviously not applying himself in training! You have to earn a bloody Celtic jersey, - everywhere I look it's mediocrity. That's why we are getting found out in Europe. It's a big world out there - even supposed smaller clubs are constantly improving, looking at new ideas! Ronny Deila isn't the only coach with progressive ideas! For me he's nowhere near ruthless enough, any top manager wouldn't have guys like that even training with the first team! Training in the afternoon shouldn't be optional - I heard him praising young Keiran Tierney for going to the gym after training, and saying he's pretty much the only one in his age group with that level of dedication! WHY?

18.) 11 Feb 2016
11 Feb 2016 20:16:47
Although I think Allan does have something, John McGinn has walked into the Hibs team and proved much more of an influence Allan ever made. I'd take McGinn in a second. Cracking player.

11 Feb 2016 21:03:35
Honestly Allan!

Good championship level player, all the people in this site that slate us signing Dundee Utd players, now it's get Allan in he was Hibs best player! the 2nd best team in the championship, he is simply not going to cut it at Celtic.

All I can recall Allan doing was getting us beat by Ajax with his fannying about with the ball.

{Ed007's Note - I've been saying this for months yet some people see Allan as some kind of saviour. I've only seen him play for us and a couple of his highlight reels and I can't see what all the fuss is over.}

20.) 11 Feb 2016
11 Feb 2016 21:19:48
You know how if you read the comments on any youtube video, somebody evebtually talks about 9/ 11. Its the same on here with RD. Who should RD play then Delphic if we have too many average players, because he has to pick XI men. And if people aren't fit enough then surely training with the first team is the best way to remedy that? Getting tedious now.

21.) 11 Feb 2016
11 Feb 2016 21:20:57
Maybe someone has the statistics to disprove it, but I think there has been more poor, inept, turgid, mindnumbing performances this year, than more years than I can recall, something has to change, I think it should be playing one up front.

22.) 11 Feb 2016
11 Feb 2016 21:36:41
The thing I like about McGinn is he keeps improving! He seems to have that determination! I wasn't sure about him but he's had a great season at Hibs! He plays s bit wider with them but long term I see him more as a central midfielder! Some players are naturally fit, Scott Brown/ John McGinn, then you have guys like Commons and Allan who have to sacrifice a bit more. If Both these players trained like a Ronaldo they would improve by at least 25% because they have natural ability and play with their head up! That's the reason no big club has come in for Commons, even on a free transfer! Allan might go through his whole career like that! It seems to be engrained! That's why Deila has to tell them straight! It's also a major problem if Park is signing guys like this who will never adapt!

23.) 11 Feb 2016
11 Feb 2016 21:47:58
I know Ed007

I have to laugh at the calls for Allan to start. I would rather we had a new formation, for me it's the only way RD succeeds.

Unless we have real quality young players coming through with this current system it's time to change it.

{Ed007's Note - He's 24 and the way people bang on about him you'd think he's some 18 yr old wonderkid we should feel honoured to have our club. I can see sitting on our bench being the pinnacle of his career.}

24.) 11 Feb 2016
11 Feb 2016 22:16:41
We'll never know if Allan is'nt given a run in the team, to find out what he can do, would McGinn have improved if he'd only been used sparingly as a sub?

25.) 11 Feb 2016
11 Feb 2016 22:23:13
Scott Allan is a good player. We need him to get a chance. Not only on the pitch but in our minds. His 'association' with Sevco doesn't make him a bad person. We all have our opinions and we're all entitled to them but let's give the lad a chance. You can see he's eager to make an impact. He's not our problem, that stems from above him. Ronny and those in charge of the club. The lad has talent, the manager doesn't.

{Ed007's Note - So we're signing players now because of their eagerness, James Forrest is eager to impress but he hasn't done it in seven seasons. I'm not even going to ask how you know Allan has talent but so was Paddy McCourt and Derek Riordan.}

26.) 11 Feb 2016
11 Feb 2016 23:37:24
Well Jim you still think Ronny can do no wrong, you and a few others are so intransigent in your thinking and to proud to change your thinking! Regardless of what players he should play (because I think they are average) - look at the players he does play, that's the reason we're in the state we are! We're the laughing stock! He either plays, or brings on James Forrest every week, he's had 1 good game this season, and around the same last season! He tells us that Forrest is an unbelievable talent every week! GMS, Armstrong and Allan haven't improved by 1% since they walked in the door, the training and/ or coaching is lacking in some form or another! That's Deila's fault! I'm not saying they're average and Ronny's average for the good of my health!

{Ed007's Note - You're grasping at straws here - when did James Forrest have a good game? :=o

27.) 12 Feb 2016
12 Feb 2016 08:03:20
The term Unbelievable does not necessarily mean 'positive. '
Germany fighting fighting Europe then invading Russia (in winter. I look at that and say, 'unbelievable. ' I certainly don't mean it was brilliant or great.
Forrest has an unbelievable talent.

Delphic, so who should he play bud? Just as a future reference. Because it's not me saying RD can do no wrong. Not at all. It's the contradictory criticism he gets from all angles. He gets stick for picking his favourites, which is nonsense on different levels, then he gets stick for making changes - due to various reasons - either through choice or necessity. As far as I can see everybody has been given game time. And with regards to Forrest, who else do we have that can play wide? GMS has been poor to say the least. All our other midfielders are better suited down the middle. Probably why we got Roberts in just because we're desperate for a player in those areas. Or perhaps he should have been playing Boerrigter? JF, looking forward shouldn't be in our side. But you have to play the hand your dealt. RD wanted Elyounoussi. But there you go.

29.) 12 Feb 2016
12 Feb 2016 16:30:59
If he's going to play the 2 up with the new lad and Griffiths I'd probably try a diamond behind them! Biton at the bottom of the diamond with Mulgrew and brown either side and Rogic or Armstong at the top of it! If Johanssen hits form again this lifetime he could play in place of Mulgrew!
