Dear Ed001,
Why don't those people who bring in players negotiate such a deal as your suggesting. It's just a thought - I'm assuming the media are saying tt Gerrad rekons he has made the wrong choice by going to the USA. I think he would combine more effectively with GMS and Armstrong, thus less flawless play in midfield - therefore stronger defence and attck.

{Ed001's Note - I am sure they could, if they tried, but I am also sure his legs are gone and he would struggle and disappoint.}

Agree with Ed. Wrong side of the hill and not worth uprooting Bitton and Brown for the sake of what, a season, two at a stretch? Like a few on here I thought we should have went for Giovinco who moved to the MLS on a free, he's tore it up and now apparently top Euro clubs are sniffing. Barrios was another over the summer I would have loved to see us at least go in for. There are certainly players that come along on Bosmans, albeit slightly higher wages, who offer good value and would improve our side. Unfortunately even at the end of his Liverpool days I don't think Stevie is one of them.

Assuming most people agree with the "idea" SG is rather old and perhaps past it, well perhaps he is. But then again their are those who speak about change in the market. I often wonder what does this imply?, any suggestions. I think SG knowledge and ability on the pitch may perhaps influence but not manipulate RD's decision making regarding FC's ability on the pitch whereby encouraging their job properly. Then again - I might be wrong.

We have signed EPL players at the end of their careers , and the vast majority haven't been of much benefit to us . Liverpool players have come before and have let us down . If we sign a midfielder I would rather he was young and eager to do well.
