Cheers ed

3.) 22 Nov 2014
Quite a familiar scene there. When we were at our strongest we stopped building . Similar to two years ago after the Barca game

4.) 22 Nov 2014
Your point DN?

5.) 22 Nov 2014
Just clarifying issue that you seem to think Martin O'Neil spent more £ than Lennon on transfer fees. Again you have been exposed rayman as telling lies

6.) 22 Nov 2014
I think you would be better looking at what we have just now rather than look at petty point scoring over 2 managers that currently have nothing to do with us anymore. It's also pointless comparing ronny to Lennon you should just judge each on their own ability and performances etc

7.) 22 Nov 2014
Jim this is a debate that has been going on for a while. Its a banter page remember

8.) 22 Nov 2014
So what's your banter about 2 managers years apart in totally different financial eras?

9.) 22 Nov 2014
See if you took the time to look at a thread futher down page you would of got the jist of argument.

10.) 22 Nov 2014
@ DN I still don't get your point mate, 1- who was talking about transfer fees? 2- What has this got to do with NL being inexperienced? You said NL should never have got the job as he was inexperienced.Your theory is he should never have got the job because of this. Your words not mine. I have no idea what NL spent on transfers and I don't care, but I bet he never paid out on wages what Bellamy was getting. This is about an inexperienced manager getting us to last 16 that an experienced and highly rated manager cudnt.

11.) 22 Nov 2014
@DN you love to tell people they tell lies, where do you get this from? Its like playground stuff mate. Grow up I was giving an opinion. how can an opinion be tellin lies, I have no idea what MON spent compared to NL.It has been well documented MON had a huge budget at the time, and the wages were astronomical and if you know anything about finance its not only the transfer fee that's the cost the wages probably double that durin the course of the contact.NL buys were prob on half these guys wages but you never thought of that did you.

12.) 22 Nov 2014
Well what is the clarification?did mon spend more than nl or not?

13.) 23 Nov 2014
It doesn't really matter as MON got to keep his players if he wanted and NL had to sell his best players. If dn30 can't see the big picture on that then he is kidding himself on.

14.) 23 Nov 2014
Rayman in previous thread it was you who brought MON into debate by slandering his management campaigns in europe stating that he couldn't get us into last 16 with his experience but you were quite content to disregard MON taking Club to UEFA Cup Final. Yes, Lennon took us to last 16 ONCE but what about the other 3 campaigns?

You then mention budgets and finance in this bizarre comparison you have instigated. If you knew anything about finance, then it would be obvious that back then we had no choice but to have inflated budgets due to strong competition in league due to that mobs tax evasion exploits.

All MON transfer dealings I have requested to be posted to highlight the fact, apart from first season in charge with this in mind was only significant spend season in his reign. Approx after ins/out about -£19m in fees invested and yes salaries on top of that.

Point is although salaries have decreased to a max £25k at the moment, with the amount of transfer money wasted and potential wastage from last season can't be that much of a difference

You go on about playground stuff, seems to be a different policy when you are dishing it out. See if you can't take the heat, get out the kitchen.

Jim1972 ah all bow before the super supporter. Your right, in fact your always right

15.) 23 Nov 2014
You been found out Dn yet again. "cant be much of a difference" are you havin a laff MON spent much more than NL. Nobody would debate MON had a much better team yet he cudnt do it. Stop tryin to deflect the issue yet again. You said NL should never have got the job that what this debate is about. YOU just can't recognise despite all his faults NL done a decent job with limited budget and did what MON cudnt. Why is getting to Uefa league final such a major achievement but last 16 isn't. I say again to you where would Celtic be now without all the CL money NL generated.

16.) 23 Nov 2014
Found out again? The facts are listed at start of this thread! Total spent on fees was less than Lennon and before you start, I'm not talking about fees recieved from transfers out the club!

Rayman I'm just blanking your replies to any threads. Clearly you are senile if you think Lennon done a decent job. As I have previously posted, apart from last 16 one season, he was abysmal in the other 3 competitions. I notice how you have totally disregarded fact that WGS on a similar budget done last 16 twice. All the best hope you get well soon

17.) 24 Nov 2014
Good because all you talk is utter tosh, again putting word in my mouth as usual. Where did I slander MON tenure? You always go off in a different direction when you been found out. Even getting ed to put up transfer fees when it had nothing to do with it. Again this was about an inexperienced manager doing what an experienced manager cudnt. I think you will find many many supporters thought NL did a good job esp considrin it was his 1st job.

{Ed007's Note - And I think you'll find just as many supporters who don't think NL did a good job considering there was no Rangers for the last two years of his tenure. 2 cups out of a possible 9 is not acceptable for a CFC manager, if it wasn't NL he would have been hunted after the lose to Kilmarnock in the LC.
You'll probably find that 100% of Stromsgodset supporters were delighted with the job RD done in his first job, there weren't many of them celebrating him leaving Norway.}

18.) 24 Nov 2014
Stromgodset fans might be happy with rd but I doubt you'll find too many people leaving celtic park on a regular basis saying we played well and enjoyed the game. Yes it's a results business and he is getting them now but the standard of play will never attract the ex season ticket holders back.

{Ed007's Note - I doubt we'll ever get any worse than the football that drove them away.}

19.) 24 Nov 2014
If rangers don't come back next season and performances don't pick up I can only see a further decline in attendances sadly. The club aren't doing enough to keep season ticket holders happy as already this season there has been several special offers to non season ticket holders with bogof offers

20.) 24 Nov 2014
Ed his european record apart from last 16 season was abysmal. First season we got knocked out CL qualifier by Braga, then Europa league qualifier by Utercht. Next season we got back into Europa League by default after Sion fiasco. Yet some people still persist that everything was alright cause he reached last 16.

The argument some have that he made club a lot of money from transfer fees is another thing. If you estimate revenue recieved from his euro campaigns and add it to transfer fees pulled in by lennon, he hasn't pulled in anything significantly more than WGS

21.) 24 Nov 2014
Both MO'N and N.L. are now history as far as been Managers of Celtic . Both bought great success to Celtic at two very different financial situations in our history . We should thank both and move on to our present situation and future times .
