So I've just seen on that the back of tomorrow's Record is running the story on Flag-Gate:

"YOU MADE A RIGHT FARCE OF THAT

3:05 Celtic reveal on their website that flag and banner ban has been lifted

4:30 Baffled police and St Johnstone officials deny making dramatic U-turn

9:05 It emerges Celtic dialled wrong number and spoke to ICT official not Saints"

This is becoming a very bad joke, serious questions need to be asking wtf is going on at our club?!

1.) 24 Dec 2013
100% right HB, are these people really running OUR club.I find it hard to believe that year after year I put myself in debt to help pay these persons salaries (the board). In any other business if you spoke about your business with one competitor to another your feet wouldn't touch the ground on the way out the door.

2.) 24 Dec 2013
It Has to be a load of nonsense, so at no point in Time did the person on the Phone mention they were? Or Even better not ask why Celtic thought they were playing ICT on boxing Day?

3.) 24 Dec 2013
So now we, re believing what's being reported in that so called newspaper . DH

4.) 24 Dec 2013
Daily Record. enough said!

5.) 24 Dec 2013
You're right HB, the board should resign, Neil Lennon should be sacked and Peter Lawell publicly executed.

Tell me, how often do you believe the Daily Ranger or is it only when it fits with this hate campaign you're currently conducting?

I couldn't give a toss about flags banners at games I go to watch football and if some tosser is waving a flag in front of me like they were at shakhtar game as I sat with a mate in public sales section I tell them to stop it in a few choice words do it at halftime or full time when game is not on I was on the point of exploding with this clown at one point I really do not mind flags or banners but when it blocks my view of match then it bothers me

It's now on SLY as well so there's no smoke without fire?
I fully appreciate the sevco allegiances and agenda's against Celtic by the DR, SLY and S(evco)TV Sport, but at a time when we should be absolutely flying and totally, untouchable in Scotland - we are repeatedly scoring some amount of own goals and gaffs on and off the park and there should be no excuses.
The club needs to get a grip and if the latest farce is indeed another piece of Media manipulation they need to make a strong stance.

Why not believe the record as they have named quotes and celtic have removed their official statement from the web page. Celtic need to come out and answer why they lied as at a very big push they might have phoned the ict security instead of st Johnstone but they also said they spoke to the police which clearly they didn't.

SoG and CBP well said the Daily Ranger talks pi$* at the best of times. They only print that to steer the attention away from Fat Sally who has told his Board he beeds MORE players for the Championship. As long as the bus driver knows were we are playing on Boxing day that is the only thing that matters. Flags, Banners, who cares, support our team with a scarf and a song, please leave the flares and smoke bombs at home. I don't have any medical condition but I want to enjoy the game not watch it through smoke. Hail Hail

I don't believe the ICT farce story.
I think the club was probably right but police back tracked afterwards as it made them look weak.
It's a minor issue about a minor irrelevant issue.
I also agree with the guy above, there's defo a hate campaign against our great club in here such that I'm actually thinking HB is a SEVCO (and the Ed).
Enemies without and Enemies within methinks.

Listen, I was born in 1989 and have been a STH on and off (financial restrictions bearing) since 1997. Regardless of having a ST or not I attend about 90% of away games, preseason and Europe included, every year. The people I meet on a weekly basis at games are the ones who are against the current collusion of PLC, Police Scotland, MSM and Scottish government. Some may not care, mostly armchair fans, but regulars want to maintain not only our founding principles and heritage but our basic human rights! I will give every ounce of blood, sweat and tears to make sure the club that's been in my family for generations doesn't get downgraded to SPFL size or go through the continued Hibernification process of eradicating everything that's ever made this club special. It's time to stand up and be counted, not be a bedwetters to what others think and apologising to everyone on the behalf of what others believe in. Time to end this revisionistic era at Celtic Park before it's too late!

12.) 24 Dec 2013
@9: Well said TTT
Unfortunately we have a militant element among our fan base who believe that their misguided and self-interpreted definitions of "human rights" are more important that the greater good of the club.
I have said it before and I'll say it a thousand times. if anyone has an issue with the law then deal with it in a respectful and appropriate manner, and one which doesn't make you look like a total tw*t. Leave your political gripes outside Celtic Park and collect them again on your way home. Take them to the pub and take them to your bed but do not take them to our club because they are not welcome.

Hail Hail

But why is a pub or household an appropriate place for political debate, or anywhere outside the ground as you put it, but not inside a football stadium Chris?

St Johnstone v Celtic

FOR clarity, Celtic Football Club has received confirmation that flags and banners will now be permitted at the match against St Johnstone on Boxing Day.

Last week, Celtic Football Club noted the advice given by local police regarding safety, flags and banners at the match.

We acknowledge we had not received final confirmation yesterday in terms of a change. However, we are pleased, following consultation and discussion over the past couple of days, that the initial decision has been reviewed by the Police and St Johnstone FC.

As we have said, football is about colour and atmosphere and creating a positive occasion for all and everything should be done to ensure that such an event can take place.

However, we should also bear in mind that supporter safety is of paramount importance and we would re-iterate, therefore, that we do not welcome any form of pyrotechnics or smoke bombs at our matches.

We want to see our matches played in a positive and safe atmosphere and we hope this will be the case on Boxing Day.

The problem with society and the potential loss of freedom is that it is inherently linked to people detatching everyday life from politics. Life is about politics whether this fact is liked or not.
We are subject to laws decided by political leaders who in turn decide on these laws based upon financial and national interests. Who controls the national interest is a very good question as is who controls the financial interest.
Sanitising or attempting to sanitise ourselves from politics is sheer folly. It effectively by opting out leaves us vulnerable to the ruling class. All national political and bloodline rulers abuse their power. Governments monopolise and centralise power and then systematically reduce your freedoms. HB does us all a great service by fighting for everyones freedoms.those jumping on the bandwagon to snipe at an easy target really need to think a little more deeply before taking cheap shots. The problem with removing discussion of politics from football is that then it is removed from the pub the Universities the institutions and eventually the ballot box. The further ridiculousness is obvious and I laboured this point at the time is the FIFA UEFA are hugely inconsistent some would say
hypocritics as they introduce and support politics in football on many levels. It just has to be the type of political figure or subject they and the offshore banks who control them want to pedal. I despair when well informed committed decent young men are pillioried by so called fans who think there is no place for politics in football. If that's your thoughts it strikes me why have there not been post after post about the politics brought in by FIFA Uefa etc. Oh I see if its popular and if you have been brainwashed and conditioned into supporting these policies and politics then its ok as it makes you a fair and decent person and better than others. Really people wake up. This isn't abput flares flags and smoke bombs its about civil liberties mass manipulation and control and the future structures of society. Sopotcelt.

16.) 24 Dec 2013
@13. because we accepted the rules of the association to be allowed to participate. TinyTim

17.) 24 Dec 2013
@15 Sopocelt you know I am not politically minded, you are and you say HB is also, why then don't you and he put your name forward to be politician's, also is there not something, where if you get enough signature's, you can ask to have your problem spoken about in parliment, as I say Sopocelt, I do not know a lot, if anything about politic's but thought it an idea to take your fight to these people, in there own back yard. Might be completly off track, I'm sure you and HB will tell me
