Hearing a rumour that Celtic have opened talks with kt for an improved deal to try tempt him to stay. If it's TRUE money isn't his motivation, but maybe vice captain and guarantee of the squad being strengthened might convince him to give us another season. We can all hope. I'm looking for any positive atm.

I would give KT the captain's armband if it insured he stayed for 9IAR at least!

No chance,
Brown is our captain and deserves to finish the job he started and win 10.

I would love KT to stay and vice captain I'm happy with.
The boys says he loves celtic and if celtic are wanting to keep him and not let him go then it is purely down to him.

The boy is a good player but nowhere near legendary stature with the club.
If he wants to be a legend and not just remembered as a very good player then he needs to put the time in.

If he leaves and we get good money then I will wish him well.

Browns best days are behind him, he slows down the whole fluidity of the team, .
I have completely misunderstood the KT situation, I thought he was on a long contract, but no, he has to be tempted to stay,

Even if he knocked this back to leave and go to the gunners I wouldn't call it a him being motivated by money.
This bhoy had the ability to reach the very top of world football.
If he could do that at Celtic then he'd never leave but he can't so he will and I think fans are just going to have to accept that fact and be happy one of our own is reaching those hights.

KT most likely leaving then.

When Brown is available he's the captain. Good shout for Tierney for vice now Lustig has left may perhaps sway KT to stay a little longer? But think the next 2 in line after KT are Ajer and McGregor who would both make great captains.

Never heard so much pish in my life. Yous really think making him vice captain is going to make him want to to stay? He could be probably more than doubling his wages and playing against better teams and players each week. Don’t get me wrong I hope he stays but people really need to get their heads out the clouds. People want to test themselves at a higher level it’s just natural. If he goes fair play to him if he stays even better.

Top of world football doesn't equate to Arsenal though. He won't achieve those heights with Celtic but Arsenal.

Why is it when Dembele forced his move people called him a rat, a mercenary and also Rodgers when now it KT and people are saying he wants to test himself against the best.

I doubt KT grew up dreaming about playing his career at Arsenal. He said he always wanted to be at celtic.

I've said it and I will again, I will wish KT all the best when he leaves but KT will be no different than Rodgers or doumbele when he does.

And I agree with weewhitey the captaincy or vice captaincy will not keep him but the chance of Legendary status possibly could.
KT will be remembered the same as VVD, wanyama or Dembele, he will be remembered as a very good player of this time but he is not a true celtic Legend.

Bribhoy arsenal will be another stepping stone for him just like Southampton were for VVD and wanyama.

Selboy what are you on about? Saying that KT is no better than BR is nuts. As far as we know KT is not trying to force a move, if anyone has info otherwise then please pipe up. The career of a footballer is a short one and what you can do once you retire usually depends on the level you reached during your playing career. I would love KT to stay for 10 but he's also got to think about his career. The Premier league is the biggest footballing platform in the world, whether we like to admit it or not. Celtic will always be in KT's heart, no matter whether the Jersey he wears is green, red or blue. He is a true celtic man and we've been lucky to have him at our club.

Selboy not one person grudges either Rodgers or Dembele their moves. It was HOW the forced there move, they both dropped us right in the tom kite.
Tierney is going about it the right way. He's let the club know he's ready to move and left it in their hands while he gets on with his job.

If tierney moves its his decision plain in simple! If any of the guys on here played for Celtic on 25k a week going into a season when we could get 9iar who would leave? No money could make me leave before I done 9 and then 10! By which time tierney will be 24 years old with still 10 years left in the game! If he goes, and I hope he doesn’t. but if he does it will be his decision and for me brings into question the diehard Celtic man he professes to be! And save me this bigger league, more money, better players pish eh! None of that would matter a jot to me when the chance to go down in history with your ‘team’ beckons! If he had faith in his ability he would know that the EPL will still be there in 2 years!

I personally don’t see KT being a major loss based on last seasons performances and important games missed through injury.

At 22 he never really reached the heights I thought he would when he first broke through.
He can be a very good player but I don’t see him as the world class player some fans do.

KT will definitely go with my blessing if he leaves for sure, the lad has given his all for the Jersey every time he pulled it on. It's not as if he will be leaving us in the lurch half way through the season or last couple of days of the window.
I would definitely wish him all the best and from a Scottish point of view, another of our players playing at a high level can only be good 🍀💚 HH.

Robdoc I'm not saying KT is trying to force a move what I'm saying if he decides to move for the good of his career then it is no difference than what Rodgers did. you kind of killed your own argument by saying there is no difference between them.
You say a football career is short and he has to do what he believes is best for himself, I have no arguments with that and I agree with you. But celtic fans still to this day say Rodgers is a rat for jumping ship and some of the same people say KT would not be as he's only looking after his short career.
Then I ask was Brendan not looki g after his career. He won everything that scotland has to offer, his stock was the highest it was ever going to get whilst managing I. Scotland. He went for a bigger challenge and people called him a rat for it.

And people can say it's how they left.
Big opportunities don't always come along too often so when they do they have to take them.

I've said all along I hope KT wants to stay but with everything that's been going on, not once has he said he has no interest in moving so my belief is his head is turned. But I'm not saying he will go.
It doesn't matter how he will leave or if its tomorrow or deadline day the fact will be he left to better his career and bank balance that's exactly what Rodgers did.

I hope KT stays as I hope we don't lose any of our bigger players. Having said that though no one is bigger than Celtic. I remember when KT came into the team thinking who the hel is thiss kid keeping Izzy out of the team. I was a big fan of Izzy and couldn't understand how they could play a kid in front of him and yet KT showed exactly why he was first choice. Izzy was not irreplaceable as I thought and neither will KT be irreplaceable when he goes. Non of our legends have been irreplaceable. If a player wants to leave in my opinion he shouldn't have to force through a move, we should thank them for their servicea and proceed to get the best deal possible. Honestly the only recent exit that jars with me is BRexit He refused to sell Boyata costing us millions and he thought he could do the same with Dembele. If he had sold both early in the window he could have gotten replacements and then here is the manner in which he left which leaves a sour taste.

I think everyone that thinks that any player, be it KT or anyone else is a fan of Celtic when they play for us needs there heads testing, last time i checked they are not the ones that do a days graft, travel sometimes hours on end on buses coaches or trains paying through the nose year in year out to see the team play. They get paid a hefty wage to train, play 50 games a season and sit on their hole for the rest of it. They are in it for the money as they are a long time retired, he is a young lad that's good at the game and wants to make a lot of money and make as much a name for himself as Andy Robertson has, winning 10 on the spin at Celtic won't do that for him outside of Scotland. Besides, the club has told Leicester not to bother even bidding for Calmac but are open to the right price for KT which i take as meaning that one of those players is open to leaving. And Calmac comes from a Family of Bluenoses!
