Supposedly we are thinking about walking away from making a deal with Motherwell because they keep making everything public about turnbull.

While I think the lad is a good prospect, I don't think we should be spending 3m on him especially when we have the like of Henderson and Johnston of our own.

IF that was true do you think they would make that news public? What a load of shnight.

I hope this doesn't ruin our chances of getting him. I feel board are going to use this as an excuse if we fail to get him. They know fans will go mental if we lose out on another target over money. Just give them going rate for young player that is goal scoring midfielder . You can't say we want £15 million for nchtam who has not played great and on other hand not pay £3 million for great scottish goal scoring prospect.
Looks like we are going to lose more targets due to penny pinching.

Ye because nothing ever gets leaked out of Park Head eh PJF23?

What a pile of rubbish. Will be used as a good excuse not to pay the fee. If Celtic want him then pay the 3 million if that's the price. Otherwise just say they are not interested.

6.) 09 Jun 2019
09 Jun 2019 17:38:23
What if they don't think he's worth that price Ter?

09 Jun 2019 18:21:25
I personally think 3 million for a player who’s played one full season in professional football with Motherwell is to steep! 2 million if that’s what they offered is more than fair! If they want more then walk away and concentrate on areas of the team that actually need strengthened! RB CB LB cover and a striker!

Celtic surely must’ve monitored turnbulls progress over the season and clearly liked what they saw. Put it this way, how much did we fork out on kouassi? Was he not supposed to be the next brown? Can’t even get near the squad so for me, if the boy turnbull at 19 can score 15 domestic goals in his first full season in a average Motherwell team is like to think he could kick on with us, especially domestically. European level is a completely different story. is or will he be up to that standard who knows. either way if the powers that be feel £3 million is acceptable then make the offer, if not walk away and move on.

Garry kouassi has had some pretty serious injuries and illness since he arrived.

Lh86 the number 10 attacking mid definitely needs strengthen. Christie will be great but rogic is no use. We need someone who will chip in with goals and assists from that area.

09 Jun 2019 21:23:04
What does it matter, how many seasons he has played,?, sometimes you can tell after a couple if games if someone is going to be special,

12.) 09 Jun 2019
09 Jun 2019 22:10:22
Kev it's 3 million. Fine if Celtic don't think he is worth it then fine. But what's the point in them making a bid or looking to make a bid with 1 or 2 million when the price given was 3 million. Celtic have paid over 3 million for koussai who rubbish and Hendry for 1.5 who even worse than rubbish.

13.) 09 Jun 2019
09 Jun 2019 22:31:57
Kev I don’t doubt kouassi has had His injuries etc to deal with. that very unfortunate for both him and the club, but he’s been here since January 2017 and signed on a 4 year deal. Half his deal is done and we’re lucky if we’ve seen him a dozen times. For £3 million that’s simply not good enough for me. I merely pointed out kouassi as we’re talking roughly the same fee for a boy that got young player of the year, scores 15 goals for a Motherwell team, I just think he’d be worth a punt. Let’s be honest, the money we’ve coined in in recent seasons not to mention the money we’ll make in season ticket sales, strip sales etc etc this season, £ 3 million for an up and coming Scottish talent doesn’t seem too bad to me.

10 Jun 2019 06:41:57
When do celtic ever think anyone's worth anything this is another o e we'll regret and as far as holding back Henderson if he's good enough he'll play it's competition.

15.) 10 Jun 2019
10 Jun 2019 08:15:07
Aye, I personally blame Rodgers, Congerton, Kennedy, Toure and Desmond for spending £3m on a player they obviously knew would catch malaria and get a cruciate ligament injury. Thankfully Turnbull will never get injured or ill, so definitely a better player.

16.) 10 Jun 2019
10 Jun 2019 10:16:47
Exactly Mike.
Ter to say kouassi is rubbish is just pure nonsense. No way can he be judged on the number of games he's played.

To say 3 million ain't a lot of money or doesn't seem to bad is nonsense as well.

And truth be told no one knows for sure if that's even the real asking price.

17.) 10 Jun 2019
10 Jun 2019 10:22:48
The problem will not be the asking so much, it's more likely that if EPL teams are looking at Turnbull the stumbling block will become wages. There's bang average players in the English Championship that earn more than the highest earners at Celtic. IMO Motherwell might prefer a deal where he is loaned back to them for a season and from our point view he would get more experience that way too.

18.) 10 Jun 2019
10 Jun 2019 10:37:06
Your right Kev, to say kouassi is rubbish is a silly statement as he’s hardly featured. My point is he’s halfway through his contract and hardly featured mainly due to injury. So in that case this season he really needs to push on then and show the club what he can do then. I’m no saying turnbull worth the reported £3 million Motherwell apparently are asking but they are well within their rights to name a price they feel is fair, it’s up to us to figure out wether we feel he’s worth that. I’d just hate to see us lose out on a promising young Scottish talent over a few quid. I guess we’ll all find out soon enough what the board and Lennons intentions are with the squad going into next season.

19.) 10 Jun 2019
10 Jun 2019 11:29:06
Garry they are all fair statements but I think we all need to take in to account that Scottish clubs will bump up the price for us.
Look what jobs done with mcginn. They quoted 4 million for him to us at one point then sold him for under 3.
If people at Celtic think that's happening they are quite right to tell Motherwell no thank you.

20.) 10 Jun 2019
10 Jun 2019 12:33:50
Despite his illness and injury Kouassi has had opportunities to make an impression and has been piss poor. People talk about a half decent performance against Zenit but that’s it. Not good enough.

21.) 10 Jun 2019
10 Jun 2019 13:35:24
Definitely Kev, if Celtic feel they’re getting held to ransom by Motherwell then yeah I’d take our interest to a certain point then walk if it’s not accepted. If however Motherwell have said £3 million and you can talk to him then we’ve got a serious decision to make. Another post suggests buying and loaning him back to gain more experience, I’d go along with that. For me we’re a club that buys young talent with a view to bringing them on and punting them for profit, that’s the way we are. Definitely feel the boy has the potential that falls into that bracket.

22.) 10 Jun 2019
10 Jun 2019 16:11:27
Well kev we are all allowed our opinion and l would love to be wrong on koussai but apart from the one game against zenit ( l think) anytime l have seen l have not been impressed with him for the fee we paid. There are certain Celtic players who get hammered on here who cost similar to koussai and have been a good player for Celtic but had dips in form.

Ya l agree Celtic have clubs at times trying to hold them to ransom over fees for players but with Motherwell if we do want Turnbull and offer 3 million and they look for more then yes Celtic should walk away.

Any1 who says Tom rogic is no use, imo, doesn't know anything about football whatsoever.

It's about managing them in the right way that's suited to their own needs, James Forrest is a classic example of that.

As for the Motherwell lad, just get him in Celtic, honestly, what's an extra 500k to us really?

The boys a top talent, scored over 15 goals for a poor Motherwell side this season, imagine how he could progress playing for the best the am in the country?
