Tompo 😂😂😂 They are basically investing/ betting on the long term prospects of the club. The club is a sleeping giant and should the league and structure change in the long term they can make a absolute killing.

Mally, you say they are the 2nd biggest but do you know what percentage they now have?

{Ed007's Note - Lindsell Train raised its holding from 17.1% to 18.4%, valuing its stake at £28.1 million at a price of 160p.}

Ed do you see this as a positive for the club? And on a side note do you expect heavy invest over the next two years to push for 10?

{Ed007's Note - I'm no expert and sadly our resident £ guru Jamie is MIA but in my oipnion it's good that the Club is seen as a good long term investment by one of the top investment companies out there - I seen an article the other day when I was reading up on them they were the 8th most successful in the world but I can't find it now.
If, and it's a huge IF, Celtic ever leave the Scottish League or if they are ever allowed to negotiate their own TV & media rights the share value would rocket and chances are we would instantly become one of the most attractive & recognisable (financially speaking) footballing brands.
I certainly expect investment in the team but I'd guess it'll be at the same sort of level we've seen, maybe not £9 million on one player but I don't see why we won't be spending on a level that £9m will get us 2 players. We need to trim the squad and more importantly the wage bill first imo and we definitely need to be getting better value for money from our wage bill.}

Cheers Ed, yeah I'm a financial imbecile so like you say if they're in the know and investing it must be seen as a positive.
I'd love the Martin O'Neill days of spending to return but it's never going to happen so just got to suck it up. But as you say if we trim the squad and etc some of the higher earners off the budget you never know😉.

{Ed007's Note - £10 million spent on the defence in the summer will do me and I don't mean buying Scott McKenna with it all! 😁
