The way Brendan is talking we won't be getting any quality signings. Loan after loan and signing guys like Hayes Mulumbu Hendry. I understand getting young players in and nurturing them but it's time to spend on a few quality experienced players. We got 7 million for Armstrong and 7 for the VVD sell on clause.

20 million for Dembele. Talk of 14 million for Ntcham. It cost around 9 million for the 4 of them.39 million is an outstanding peice of business that will earn the board and shareholders plenty along with bonuses.

This will be like the last window will be like the last and the summer - Underwhelming is an understatement!

See to be honest I can see the the way the club are doing it, we have players like Boyata, Gamboa, lustig, Mulumbu, kouassi, Benkovic all on decent wages at the club plus more that aren’t playing. The numbers need to be cut down then it’s makes more sense to bring players in. With Boyata and Benkovic there until the summer it makes non sense to then pay 2-3million in a centre back until there are both away. I genuinely think we will recruit the quality needed to win the league. Use rangers for a example, they will have a huge wage bill considering there financial circumstances and they have around 10 centre midfield players. We don’t want to be in that position.

We will hopefully get an experienced right back in and that should be enough for the remainder of the season. Re-build in the summer and unfortunatley risk crashing out of the CL qualifiers.

I also fully expect Ntcham to go on deadline day with no chance of getting another player in. 14mil for the rainy day fund, with no chance of Lawell ever seeing rain.

We are playing russian roulette now guys. If and its a big IF they win the league this year and somehow manage to qualify for the Champions league we will be humiliated. Every chance in the world to put them to the sword once and for all this window. They are paying massive amounts of money trying to stop our bid for 10. Massive amounts of money that will kill them again if we win the league this year. We should be ensuring there demise again. NOT letting them back in.

Well said Craigwylie. Too many pantywetters on here these days.

The club has been stock-piling players for too long with very few making the grade or showing any improvement or reliability.
Therefore, we just can't keep adding to a squad that is far too big and expensive to maintain, with little chance of profit or success.
De Vries, Gamboa, Hendry, Compper, Hayes, Eboue, Benyu, Izzaguire, Aitchison, Mulumbu and even Morgan have all failed to displace any of their counterparts for any length of time or establish themselves.

These players apart; Our current squad has cover for every position even allowing for injured and absent players like Griff, Arzani and Rogic. (Allen earmarked for Hibs) .
Gordon/ Bain Lustig/ Ralston Ajer/ Boyata Benkovic/ Simunovic KT/ Miller Forrest/ Johnston Brown/ Ntcham Bitton/ Cal-Mac Christie/ Burke Sinky/ Weah Edouarde/ Bayo

This is why we need to sell, sell, sell - before we buy and there are still nearly two weeks of the window to go.

Maybe if we bought some first team ready quality, we wouldn’t need all the “potential “ that’s bulking the squad. It could actually save money too.

I am a romantic and I love stories like 11 bhoys born within spitting distance of paradise lift the european cup or ten men win the league or the invincibles or double treble winners etc. We are living the dream. That said I agree totally that this is not "Wonderland" and hard facts dictate that we need to sell as we have too big a squad and it needs to be reduced above all moving on those who have little or no chance to play for us but of course there is a problem as some prefer to take the wages we give and not play than move on.
It's true we can't stockpile players but neither can we break our pay structure for marquee signings or indeed we risk everything . let's just win the leaggue etc the Celtic way and not be the eternal gamblers like Sevco who are putting all their trust in an old man to score lots of goals so as to overtake our goal difference advantage etc.

Chasaboy quality costs money and quality don't want to play in Scotland, Cardiff City have just offered £18 million for a Nantes player yes Cardiff how can we compete with that and the wages he will be offered. oldkilly.

Well said Donjim. I think it’s quite possible that the biggest issue we have is finding players who are willing to sign, who are good enough to make us better. Therefore we need to keep what we’ve got till we can bring them in and if we do, then we start offloading one or two. Alternatively, we may have several players developing who will break through in the next year or two, who look better than the level of player we can realistically attract. The strategy then would be to run down the squad players’ contracts and the development players take their place. I’m confident that BR and Pedro want to invest to improve but they’re not willing to invest in rubbish just to appease the pantywetters and the Scottish media. Ultimately, we will not allow the media, the fans or Sevco to dictate how we plan or how we budget to execute those plans and that’s why we will continue to succeed.

VVD, Wanyama, Moussa all played here, so we can get them, but not for a ten bob postal order. That’s our problem. When Rogers stated we won’t even go to £4m I think we all knew feck all real quality was coming anywhere near us.

Another window where our gaping wound defence is not even addressed and we are back to square one in the summer. If anybody is trying to push the, we will sort it in the summer rubbish, please don’t. Have we not been here before? Or is it just a panty wetting conspiracy that we never fecking learn? I think the evidence is there that after three years and jack rubbish being done we need a change of strategy that includes spending some of the bonus pot on players.
