Most posters were confident that after we secured our CL spot the quality signings from the Epl would be knocking down the door to join.
So where do we stand now?
Have we done the budget on new player contracts and the players we have brought in?

Indeed have we got the money we all think we should have?
With everything that's going on the sevco game now becomes massive.
Even if a new face comes in will he be pitched right in?
From the bus parade until now I can get my head around why things seem to be going backwards.
An interesting few weeks coming up.

The usual Board complacency set in added to a misguided over-confidence in BR and the players who were not only reduced in quality or numbers, but had a ridiculously short close-season and a WC to contend with before embarking on potentially four qualifiers - weeks apart, with injuries and absences to cope with.
It was clear to everyone and their dug that we needed quality in key areas - not only because of the above mentioned but, - because we had struggled in Europe last season with these same players.
However, for one reason or another, bids stalled and failed and new faces promised never materialized and here we are in August having our bawz booted by Hertz and AEK in a 4 day nightmare and one win in our last 5 games.
We will probably sign one or two before the deadline, but probably nobody near the quality we hoped that would give the whole club a much needed boost. Therefore, the squad we have have to give themselves a shake and maybe a couple need a kick in the pants to remind them that they are Glasgow Celtic players, double-treble holders, the highest paid and best players in the country and they have the honour of doing it all again. COYBIG.

BR did all his transfer budget on Eddy. We know PL look after the money and this year we will lose money so he won’t spend any more. We either get revenue from CL or we sell players, otherwise with our running costs, wages etc we lose money.

How can that be johnnymac. BR spent 9 million on eddy but that was off set by Armstrong 8m an d Eric 1.5m. So the different is half million. If that's the case God help us.

That wait until we qualify and we will get in English players? What a complete pile of rubbish strategy. Anybody who bought that piss idea must have a hoos bursting with pups.

Total idiocy to think that would work. It seems that complacency isn’t the entire preserve of PL. that thinking just cost us any chance of moving up a level and £65m. Farcical.

Let’s see the bargain basement signings arrive in the next two weeks to sit on the bench or lie on the treatment table. It’s the way we roll our solitary coin.

We also got the7m from VVD sale so should be7.5 in front not including 2 yrs CL money and season ticket money plus sponsorship money . There are players out there can do us a Job and not cost a fortune l do believe we need to invest before the end of this window.

We have 32 or so first team players B R says he likes a smaller squad mid to higher 20's, why can we not reduce the size.

If we have been in negotiations for players then that means there is some money to spend.
We have to lower our expectations on who we think will come to Scotland.
We have been caught with our pants down for CL qualifiers so we now have the chances to strenghten for what is going to be a much more closer domestic campaign.
If the the hearts game is anything to go with we then it shows we are not as strong a squad as we may think.

We need to dust ourselves down and do a mental reset. We haven't shifted enough of the fringe players imo. Wage budgets come into it but i can't get my head around the activities of this window. One first team player brought in. When DB moves on that's 3 out. As others have pointed out we have brought in backups instead of challangers. You want to keep a squad happy but we haven't been ruthless and played it safe again as the board would put it. Dithered and missed out on targets. I don't think Mcginn was the only one, his case was blatantly public. I resent the playing it safe idea it has never or will ever work. Time and time again it puts our noses out of joint and displays weakness and gives the press a foothold to work us over.
Its down to the lads in the dressing room now. A reponse is needed. Few high scoring spl wins and el qualification. Time to step up and prove it on the park and hope the injury nightmares pass. You couldn't make it up.

Ter 161, in 2016 Celtics operational expenses were about £52million. We turned over about £53million and after gaining money in transfer market we made about £500k.
Last season our costs increased by £20million to £72million and we made a profit of £7million. This year our costs will be £75million minimum. We are out of CL so our revenue will be around £70mill. Depends on how we account for players transfers but we will lose maybe £7mill this season. Its all about running costs not just about transfers in and out. BR has increased costs out of recognition. In 2014 we were making £13mill profit, now looking at £7million losses.

{Ed007's Note - This level of 'forensic analysis' should be behind a paywall.....

This type of analisis is familiar to reports from the drink soaked Keith the accountant for scottish football Jackson. 🤣🤣🤣.
