If we are to bring a striker to the club before the window shuts then I'm guessing he may be used as back up to Moussa and the teacake mainly in league games. Why not take a punt on Louis Moult at Motherwell. Different type of striker to what we have just now . big physical and can score bags of goals at this level. Would be a bit like Harston in the Larsson and Sutton days but obviously not in that league.

If van dijk has indeed signed for 81m and we've got a 8m at least to come signing a decent cb and a back up striker is a priority before 31st in an ideal world a lb as back up but think miller will be used. if dembele is off we better sign a top class replacement aswell. Hopefully it's an interesting and fruitfull few days at paradise.

We done this before Pat. Although its seems mad now Ciftci was pretty decent at Utd and stood out similar to Moult in Scottish league. Just signed Hayes who was hands down best player in Scotland out with celtic and as much as I hope he comes good and is just trying too hard as I was happy with him for GMS it can't be contested that he's been really average! If its a choice between Moult and some young French U20 international I'd be havin the croissant.

I've said it before but I'm really not a fan of buying players from other Scottish clubs unless they are of real quality. I think it's important for the clubs to be as strong as possible if for no other reason than to take points off our rivals.

This frustrating situation has arisen ever since transfer windows were introduced, where we have needed to strengthen or replace and the club leaves the support hanging and guessing until the deadline - usually ending in disappointment apart from Lawell securing his pay rise and bonus.
