With Olivier Giroud no longer an option, Marseille will be progressing with their interest in Moussa Dembele.

Will they pay the dosh tho Ed?, can they afford him?

{Ed007's Note - Yes and more importantly they would be more likely to meet his game time demands than Chelsea.}

They got money to burn Ed? Couldn't see them getting Giroud for under £25 mill surely?

Are they in the CL draw?

Suppose if MD plays Fri night would that make him ineligible for everyone else? (y)

{Ed007's Note - They missed out on the CL.}

Hi ED what's happening wae this new signing have u heard anything?

{Ed007's Note - No mate.}

Second thoughts maybe?

{Ed007's Note - Nah I don't think so mate, more than likely finalising the contract and if there's add-ons like has been suggested it'll be complicated there will be plenty of haggling with City over the fine details. The player has agreed to join and passed his medical so I wouldn't panic, sometimes these things take time.}

I'd be pretty p*ssed off if Desmond and Liewell decide to sell him. The guy has 3 years left on his contract, he is happy to stay here and we are in a good financial position.

Ed, do you know the amount Celtic would accept for MD? I think you said a while ago a price had been agreed with chelsea.

{Ed002's Note - Celtic turned down an offer in January and Chelsea were given a figure of £40M. Chelsea are still interested but they are also talking to another club about a similar young player, but the might be open to discussing him further very soon. Marseille are also keen but the interest of Everton appears to have waned for now.}

I don't see how a move to Marseille would be deemed as progress if I'm honest.

Well I hope so ED never known it to be this long would it hold him back from training wae the squad?

{Ed002's Note - No. He will train and play when the time comes.}

Much better league, Kev?

{Ed007's Note - Better chance at making the French World Cup squad?}

{Ed007's Note - There's nothing new.}

From a playing point. Why move?
Will he bust a gut and go in for a 50/ 50 when the chance to score is there in the qualification rounds? I think he will. Watch and see where his head is at if he doesn't move as soon as the papers have it. He has been positive about staying media wise but he is a different type of cat to SA where silence has caused a certain sect, ours or trolls to hound on tw@tter or any outlet available.
We have a striker that will fetch north of 25m hopefully.
It wasn't where we were two years ago. An extra year. Excellent. Non contract signers. Punt them.
Remember this is silly season.
I'd rather the sold or signed would be done and dusted tomorrow instead of this.
Another month of brain rattle.

He'll do well to make that squad no matter where he's playing next season Ed. Says more about the French plethora of talent. Lacazette, Mbappe, Giroud, Griezmann, Ousmane Dembele, possibly even Martial. If Moussa had another great season, I'd hoy him in, he's a bit different to the others who are more 'forwards' than penalty box strikers. But I might be biased.

Regardless I wouldn't be too surprised to see a young frenchman choose Marseille over Scotland, despite them being a way off their rivals.

Whilst (roughly) on the subject, if anybody likes film, or football, or sociopolitical issues watch Les Bleus une autre histoire de France'. Watched it the other night on neyflix (probably on the dodgy box too) . One of the best docs going.

The national team and the fact France is his home are the only things I could think of. I don't rate the French league that highly JimTim. Obviously PSG and Monaco are oil rich these days but teams like Marseille and Lyon aren't what they were. If that's what it takes to achieve his World Cup dream then best of luck to him you can't grudge him but I wouldn't rate it as a smart career move, swapping (potential) CL and winning trophies to EL and finishing 5th in Ligue 1.

I know who I'd choose Kev! Sadly Moussa might not feel the same as me. But likewise, I couldn't grudge him.

I would be surprised if went to marseille just to get into a world cup squad.

{Ed007's Note - Only an idiot would do that.}
