Aye and Rooney would need a massive drop in wages too. But a Rooney with his confidence restored as our number ten would be amazing.

I heard this on cup final day about Rooney coming . The bloke that told me isn't one for saying stuff like this if he didn't think there was something in it and is well connected with Celtic it seemingly came straight from a director. Can't see it myself and to be honest not even sure about Rooney as a player anymore .

Rooney is done and has been for a while.

Mally its just what I got told, its a rumour page no a fact page. I think rooney would run riot up here but his wages would obviously be a problem.

No havin a go will and a know its rumours page mate but rooneys on anout 200.000 a week so thatll rule it out me thinks.

A problem! Think that's a bit of an understatement mate! He makes more than our first 11 put together! Not a hope in hell is rooney coming up here! And I for one am glad! He was past it a long time ago! He'll go to Everton and make more obscene money every week while doing very little to justify it!

Over the hill my hole. Rooney would be an outstanding signing. He is 31 and United and England's record goalscorer. I'm not a United fan but Mourinho has treated him dispicably and he has shown a lot of class getting on with things. He will go somewhere and run riot under a manager who restores his confidence and believes in him. Unfortunately it won't be to us because of finances.

Record goalscorer maybe, how manys he scored in the last few years,?, an overpaid luxury he has been in the last few years, that's what.

Over the hill or not. He won't be coming for more reason than 1. But mainly we would never even approach him. he's on 250k a week at Man U and still has a year on his contract. They are giving him a free transfer to save his 12m a year in wages, but he doesn't need to and if he does itll be for 100k a week anyway. He will go back to Everton, their fans will love it (most of them) and he won't need to move his family away etc.

I think I have more chance of signing for Celtic than Rooney
On Sly Sports earlier it said Everton couldn't afford his wages and Man U would have to pay at least half his wage if he went there.
The only way he would come up here is if he did what Beckham did and play for free when he went to PSG. Although PSG did give something like £4m to charity as part of the deal and I just can't see Rooney being that type of person.

Rooney is going back to Everton. Celtic won't make any moves for "quality" until champions league fate is decided.

Dembele isn't leaving this summer.

Yeah Rooney wouldn't improve us, just like borini, lucas, markovic etc, time to stay off the fantasy football, or the glue lads as yous are talking mince, yet the same posters who berate every name were linked with are the ones moaning that there's no new signings.

Aindoh, he started 15 games last season so it is unfair to judge his goal tally on that. The season before that he was playing in a strangled system under a poor manager, surrounded by the worst United squad for over a decade. I take his overall game into consideration when forming my opinion. His assist record is also first class. If our support turned their nose up at a signing like Rooney then I'm afraid there is just no pleasing people.
