Celtic have beaten off competition from Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United to land Irish starlet Barry Coffey.

The 16-year-old playmaker played for Chelsea last year in a youth tournament in Rotterdam and had been offered trials by both Manchester clubs.

Never heard of him IC but going by the Clubs keen to offer him a trial hopefully plenty potential. Maybe the Irish lads can fill us in if they have seen him play.

Saw a picture of him in an Ireland squad and noticed he was the captain. Bodes well, good piece of business!

Played against him last season when he was with Nenagh and didn't standout to be honest, he was playing a year above his age group though.
