From Newsnow

CELTIC'S number one signing target Patrick Roberts this evening updated his twitter handle, changing the number 27 to 7, the iconic Celtic squad number that awaits him should his permanent transfer to Celtic proceed.

Brendan Rodgers, the Celtic manager has made it clear to the board that they must do all they can to re-unite Roberts with his Invincible team-mates at Parkhead. Celtic are in advanced stages of negotiations with his parent club Manchester City prepared to sell the player to the Scottish Champions.

The Celts are also in line for a £7million windfall from the transfer of Virgil van Dijk from Southampton. The probable destination for the Dutchman is Anfield but Southampton may attempt to bring Manchester City and Chelsea into a bidding war.

That's all good news for Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell who inserted a 15 percent sell on clause when the 25 year old Dutch international left Celtic for Southampton in August 2015.The £7millon windfall will be more than enough to satisfy Manchester City regarding the move for Roberts so the remaining barrier to the deal - would the 20 year old Englishman be prepared to move to Glasgow on a permanent basis - looks a little more likely this evening, thanks to patrick27roberts changing to patrick7roberts by Patrick himself!

{Ed007's Note - Hhhmmmmm A quick Google search proves otherwise.....

{Ed007's Note - It's his real account but it's been @patrick7roberts all along mate, I think it's his England number.}

Thinking about midfielders now. Imagine this for a battle. Roberts, Lambert, McStay, Armstrong, Moravcik, up against Brown, Wanyama, Petrov, Rogic, Nakamura.
