Hi Ed, just thread a post on the Celtic blog on Facebook.

"Celtic have employed architects to give them revised costings and feasibility reports relating to redevelopment of their Main Stand.

Previous plans would have seen redevelopment of the old structure and the addition of another tier. It would have taken Celtic Park up for around 75,000 capacity and meant the stadium achieved Uefa 5 star status.

The timing could be given the club has an extremely large waiting list for season tickets.

Any truth in this as there is meant to be 17,000 on the waiting list for season tickets? Would be amazing of we did this but can see there being a few games where it will struggle to fill the stadium.

Interesting post BT a mate i get my info from said to me at the time the hotel plans were released that the Club definitely has plans to make the South Stand 2 tiers, He said there would not be much change in the attendance to what it is now using just the bottom tier but the top tier would be opened for CL games etc and bring it up to 76,000 i think he said so your post pretty much states exactly what he said. Great news if it happens.

Sorry BT also meant to add that he said hospitality suites and upgraded changing rooms were also a big part of what was planned for the new stand.

Would be a good investment and really put the stadium amongst the best. If we upgraded what you mentioned, increased capacity, the hotel/ museum as well as the dome at the training ground I can see Celtic Park being selected to host a European final in the near future. The extra revenue we get from the capacity at Celtic park is what keeps us ahead of the Sevco too. Imagine adding another 10,000 or so season ticket holders to that.

I work with a few Man United season ticket holders and in order to fill the stadium they have certain rules with their tickets. For instance, you would need to have attended the lesser games to be allowed the chance to attend the big games. Maybe something the club would have to implement.

Man Utd season books are a right rip off my mate has one and had to buy tickets for every game no option to opt out that would be a disaster imo if we went down that route.
