Not the best bit of business. Does this end signing paddy Roberts.

No. Right now we have 2 first team wingers in Forrest and Sinclair (GMS is offski) . Forrest, as we know, is injury prone. We can't risk being down to the bare bones or having to play armstrong etc like in years gone by. Hayes will be a versatile squad player, mainly for the SPL, where we know he's good enough as he's scored against us often enough! Think of O'Neill's team with the likes of Guppy and Sylla. Its a squad game and some reliable strength in depth is always needed. I'm sure right wing is still the priority position, whether that being paddy or someone else.

Shocking celtic, this is not a champions league signing!

Totally agree Hayes If it happens won't be a convincing to a lot of Celtic fans just hope that there will be better to come.

Read that Aberdeen want Christie as part of the deal. £1.2m cash or if we threw in Christie the fee would be £750,000. What planet are they on Christie should be valued the same if not more than Hayes. Really hope he doesn't go on a permanent deal or we have been well and truely shafted.

Christie cannot be part of that deal! He is someone who can kick on in our first team this year, at least domestically. Not sure he even needed farming out in first place.

Hayes will be a squad player as LM says, with Ciftci Ambrose Commons Allan GMS Janko O'Connell and unfortunately probably Roberts out the door, there's plenty room for this type of player, Wouldn't imagine Christie would be part of the deal as I think Rodgers rates him, Wouldn't be surprised to see McGinn at Celtic too and to be honest they are probably the only two players in Scotland that are good enough to fill the squad. Rodgers will have his targets to spend the serious cash on that will hopefully get us competing in the CL.

I can only guess that Rodgers isn't getting Roberts, He has tried to mould forest, gms isn't in his plans - and maybe he sees something in Hayes that he can work with. As he has done with Sinclair, Moussa, etc.

I agree letting Christie go would be a mistake as he's great - but assuming we keep Armstong and Rogic he would just be back up and perhaps he, the player, wants to play so is pushing for a move.

Hayes in for little money even as cover for forest and Christie out on load for another year to build character and if he has a season like he has had this year, we'll get him back next year or recall him if / when rogic gets injured again.

Hayes can also play leftback, which has been an issue for us this season when Emilio isn't on the bench like last week when McGregor had to play there. Emilio may well be off despite us triggering an additional year for him.

Don't know what's worse us going for Hayes or Aberdeen wanting £1.2M for him 😂.
