JMcC groin injury ? I hope he isn't the marque signing, he is a good player but what pees me rite off is we couldve had him for £500,000 and PL said no.

BRFA from what I was told weeks ago marquee signing was arranged. McCarthy has come about only in recent week due to fall out with Koeman so I seriously doubt he is the marquee. I am expecting another.

Let's be honest we bash DD and PL (and quite rightly so) but think they deserve a bit of credit for not only bringing in BR but also backing him.

Sorry Wylie just been told that it was marquee no names were given sorry mate I'm as excited as everyone else. All I wa told was that very big player was coming if we qualified for champions league. Not for the money but to win trophies.

We've spent about 4.5 million in total! With the money from johannsen and scepovic we're lucky if it works out at 1.5 million we've actually spent! Yes we're paying bigger wages, but I wouldn't call it pushing the boat out! Nowhere near it! We'll see how we are after the transfer window shuts before I decide if we've really backed Brendan!

Who cares about prices of players. How may players did deila bring in and what prices where paid. I could care if it was a team of freebies as long as the gel together and perform. Also get results. How much was Leicesters team last year and look how will they performed . rant over.

you said …the marquee player is contingent on cfc qualifying for the champions league BECAUSE this player wants to win trophies…. he could win plenty of trophies (I assume its a "he" noting that there are some decent women footballers out there! ) …back to my point…he could win many/ many/ many trophies whether or not we qualify for the champions league (the competition with more non-champions in it than champions) ….

unless CFC were going to scrap the wage structure with the CL readies …. which I doubt very much.

Think bhoys some of us need to lower our expectations regarding "marquee" player coming in.

First it was schweinstiger, then ballotelli now nasri!
All these players are out our reach and regardless of CL qualification the wage structure won't be broken and with some of the names mentioned it would have to be significantly.
The only thing CL will do is free up some coin for transfer fees but again don't expect all of the 25m - 30m to go in because it wont.
Realistically i would say 15% of that will be invested into the squad.
