So Lawwell is on Sunderland's list for coe. What's everyones thoughts, will he stay, will he go, if he goes what are your thoughts on replacement. Most likely like for like with Desmonds shroud business ethics.

As much as I don't like the way he has run part of the club (The way new players are sourced ) The rest of it I don't think he has done anything wrong If he would give the say back to the manager as in who comes to the club I would say it will be a sad day if he goes.

Think over all he's done a good job for us, but the past few years with down sizing and penny pinching have soured it for me! Wouldn't be the end of the world if he was to leave! Maybe somebody with some new ideas could be brought in.

If he solely focused on the money side of things, of course tweaking our policies and caps etc (admittedly that's the board as a whole too) , and got a better DoF in to make the footballing decisions - he's welcome. But that's too big of an 'if', so he can go. Ultimately the sidestepping, mis-spending and failure to capitalise on CL without Rangers falls on HIS door. I don't know what's improved under our chairman's tenure either mind and JP could easily be replaced too.

i agree with the above poster I think he has done a lot of good for the club business wise however, I think we need someone with good business sense but also a good understanding of the footballing side of things. If Lawell leaves hopefully park gets the boot and Ronny gets a bigger say in transfer dealings.

Nothing will change with lawwel leaving
He is an employee doing the he's employed to do.
Deliver success on park and off it.
Both of which he has done.

Hi Ed, Is there any substance to this or is it another ploy by the rags to unsettle the club before the Sevco game as they've already done so with players, RD and now Lawell.

{Ed007's Note - There's been murmurings all season that PL could leave at the end of the season and I don't see why Sunderland wouldn't be interested. Don't you think it would give the support, and the club, a lift it was announced he was leaving rather than unsettle us? }
