Just read that Celtic have accepted a bid of £10.5m from Southampton for VVD and he will join them on Wednesday. Any truth in this Ed? Saw it on a Celtic page on

{Ed007's Note - I don't think any deal has been agreed yet but Southampton at that price should be about right unless there is a late bid from elsewhere to hijack the deal. RD and PL are still hopeful of talking VVD into staying if we qualify but it looks like they're fighting a losing battle.}

We just need one last big performance from him on Tuesday. If he is going I'm sure he'll want to leave on a high.

Kevbhoy, I would hope you are right but if true this could work against us. He might hold back to avoid injury.

£11 million bid was in place last week, VVD will be gone this week, please God we qualify for the group stages and we might get a decent player or 2 in, failing no CL it will be a few more loan players and a back 4 of izzy mulgrew Boyata ambrose.

Celtic have just dismissed VVD as load of nonsense

If vvd puts in his best performance in a celtic shirt against malmo he can leave with my blessing but the money we get back we have to put in a serious bid for denayer as city have just signed otamendi so denayer is further down the pecking order

If we're getting £10m plus for him I don't think we can really argue too much. He is outstanding in our league but would he be so commanding in the EPL? I'm not saying he wouldn't but there are many excellent SPL players who make the move and they don't cut the mustard at all. There's no doubt Van Dijk is a talent but it's a gamble for teams down south as well. For every one player who makes the move and makes a reputation there are probably ten who don't.

{Ed007's Note - He's held talks with Marseille last week as well.}

SOS Bhoy how much do you think Denayer is worth? At this moment in time Man City would struggle to get £5 mill for him. I can't see how £10.5 mill is low balling VVD. If he goes to the Prem and does ok he might be worth £15 mill. He won't go to the Prem and be outstanding in that company so he is a bit of an unknown at that level. To get over £10 mill for any player coming out of Scotland is a big deal. What other Scottish team have had anything near that price for a player. No one. Don't compare john Stone at £25 mill. He is English and that virtually doubles his sale price. He has also got over 50 prem league games under his belt. £11 to £12mill would be the absolute maximum we would get for VVD

There are many EPL players who get transferred for riduculous amounts of money intra the EPL who don't cut the mustard eith er,the EPL is just the next village down the road who happen to have black and white tv while we are still listening to the radio,playing up here does'nt make you a lesser player than someone playing down there,it would not make any sense ,financial or otherwise if VVD,did'nt get sold for anything less thann 25 million.
