For the right money it should be done what does it matter what other people call paradise?

SOS BHOY

2.) 09 Oct 2013
Agree don't really see the problem Celtic fans call it Paradise anyway, a never say am going to celtic park half the time a call it Parkhead, ma bad

3.) 09 Oct 2013
We all call it parkhead or paradise anyway so for the right name and amount I don't see it been a problem just look arsenal for an an example the amount they get I don't see us getting anywhere near that but a few million extra would be good for us.

4.) 09 Oct 2013
Was there not an April fool once saying we were getting 400m from Guinness lol {Ed007's Note - What smart ar5e done that?}

5.) 09 Oct 2013
Depends on:
1. The money, needs to be loads
2. The name/ company/ product
3. Level of prestige of company and appropriateness of link to Celtic

6.) 09 Oct 2013
No. Let us keep our dignity. We are not morally bankrupt, never mind financially bankrupt.

I have been following CELTIC for 60 years, and never said anything other than CELTIC PARK and that's the way
it should remain.jimbhoy.

8.) 09 Oct 2013
It's a NO for me, it's more than fine the way it is and we don't need the money. Fran

9.) 09 Oct 2013
As long as we play in Scotland we have to look at multiple routes to get extra money.
It really depends on the details though. If it's a reputable company and it's additional money that would be spent on the team I'd be fine with it. If this new money would not mean additional team fund but would be used for dividends or other non playing staff expenses I wouldn't be too enthused.
Would be happy if a percentage went to Celtic charity fund too.
Per post by db, not entirely sure where there is a moral aspect here.
What's the difference between a stadium sponsor and a shirt sponsor?

10.) 09 Oct 2013
Mr Ed the mole I wonder who the Guinness smart erse was indeed? I do have to admit though they would make a good sponsor for us!

Im all for a little bit of extra revenue for the club so its an I don't mind from me. so long as they don't take stupid ideas from the likes of the Nashville Predators and call it the gaylord entertainment arena like theirs used to be called then I would be happy enough. {Ed007's Note - Remember they wanted to paint Ibrox pink??? I always thought a CFC top with a Guinness harp on it would look amazing. The April Fool's joke prank was brought up the other week and my friend sent me this link, I would bet that some sections of our support would have a problem with it happening:

11.) 10 Oct 2013
Haha was it not some sort of dating site. Undeaddating.com or something? That piece of scrubland has had some plans attached to it in recent years!

Anyways I cannot possibly see how anything that link explains would make them unwelcome amongst an element of our support :) {Ed007's Note - I can't remember what it was but the fact they considered it was enough... Or was that another prank they fell for?}

12.) 10 Oct 2013
Have never referred to our ground as Parkhead or Parkheid as that is a district of Glasgow and we play at Celtic Park.
It's usually non-believers that say Parkhead so they don't have to say the word 'Celtic'.
Re-name it partially but keep Celtic in the title.

Given the development going on around the Celtic Park 'complex', the Club could get the best of both worlds. Sell the name to the stadium but only the stadium itself - not the entire footprint of the site. ie: The overall site - stadium, Carpark, tix office, museum, megastore etc etc would still be called Celtic Park. Within Celtic Park would sit the 'Magners Stadium' (or whatever name we sold it as). NY Giants stadium in New Jersey is often referred to as the Meadowlands, which is the name for the entire complex, incorporating the stadium, the arena next door etc etc. The Club could still use 'Celtic Park' as their address, but media could use the new stadium name.

Guinness Celtic Park for £5m a year, all the CL games beamed around the world alone makes that back for them.

It's a huge global brand. Irish link to Celtic, outstanding reputation and quality. That would work. Imagine being able to buy the Icelandic striker equivalent every year. No brainer.

15.) 10 Oct 2013
Sorry JJ, I follow Celtic and my dad when he was alive. Always known it as Parkheed or Paradise. Always will.
Hail, Hail. TinyTim

Lol it was a dating sight for married couples who want to "CHEAT" on thier wife/husband . Think the company was called Madisons or somthing like that. Would have been too good to be true, but there were duscussion on the matter apparently!

Not a big fan of stadium naming, should always be Celtic Park, no need to sell out for a few extra marketing bucks.

In this day and age we need to look at ALL income avenues! And to be honest I reckon there would be a cue of massive brands begging to have Celtic park named after them! We are global brand and have a fan base like no other! So I personally would think the £££ would be colossal and could probably help our club rise in stature more than it already is! Lest be honest the Scottish league will not allow us the revenue to do this so why not! Hail Hail!

I've always called it Parkheed or paradise, BUT that title belongs to me and others, others will call it Celtic park, so that wil be big and irreplaceable for them.
Agree with JPL. Now would be time to do it if poss with surrounding areas being cleaned up/ replaced.
Im fed up with drink based sponsorships, my kids think the tops are dud, and I agree! Guiness should be no where near the top of the list if there is one? It needs to be BIG.
What a statement Guiness would put out lol

NO NO NO. Julieghirl.

21.) 12 Oct 2013
Think it's a good idea JPL but there would really need to be something els in the celtic park complex wouldn't be very good just a superstore and the magners stadium, am sure the meadowland complex would have restraunts prob pubs and shops, but do like the idea of that.
What would be wrong with Guinness as a name it's massive world wide

22.) 12 Oct 2013
If the money was right that why not. My only concern is what would we do with the money. We have a tidy bank balance just now and spend very little.
