First time poster here and just been looking into Finnbogason a bit more. It's already been said Heerenveen are operating on a loss and this is true. Dutch clubs tend to be prudent financially, like the Germans, so no matter what the Chief Exec of the club is saying, they'll be looking to sell him. Also found a very interesting article on him. As a youngster, he spent 2 years living in Scotland (Edinburgh), where his idol was none other than Henrik Larsson. In his own words, "he was the only player I wanted to emulate". I say we give this guy the opportunity to sign and tempt him with the no 7.

It is true, he played junior football in Scotland as a teenager

He played for Hutcheson Vale in Edinburgh as a teenager whilst his parent worked and lived there
