Heard that CL games in 2014 will be played in Manchester or Dublin as CP is being used for Commonwealth Games. Anyone else heard this?

Tam the Tim

Believable4 Unbelievable34

No that's not true. UEFA have made a verbal promise to Celtic to make sure that they will be playing the away leg of whatever qualifier it is on the week of the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony.

Agree0 Disagree0

Potentially only one game would be affected, so if we play away then there is no problem.

Just been on all the online bookmakers sites and worryingly NL is favourite on every one to be the next Everton manager. DH

Believable9 Unbelievable10

I think it you'll find the likes of Roberto Martinez would be ahead of Lennon if Wigan were to be relegated and Brian Laudrup. AS 1888.

Agree1 Disagree1

I think you'll find NL is still the bookies favourite right now no matter if Wigan go down or not. Bookies don't make favourites without knowing a thing or two. DH

Agree0 Disagree0

A think you will find the original poster is correct at this moment in time. CraigyBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

That's just from evertons point of view. they obviously aren't thinking about what lennons thinking.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bookies make favourites based on how much money is being put on. its just maths. the more they stand to lose the lower they make the odds.

Agree2 Disagree0

A bit of miss information /information leads to maybe one large placement which shortens odds which alerts other gamblers which shortens odds further. so its based on the info and how true. this sort of gambling is manipulated to a certain degree. take Murdochs crew into the equation and. well make up your own minds. TTTS

Agree0 Disagree1

To add to what I said. I read a tweet from a well known free state 'journalist' based in Scotland saying he had a scource from within CP saying Everton was for NL from a while back. This guy going by some of the stuff he writes has already sold his soul for mutton and is now trying to sell other souls for a birds eye beef burger. TTTS

Agree1 Disagree0

Imo I think the everton job is probably the biggest anyone from up here would be offered regardless of how successful they where. lennon isn't daft and if they have made contact i'm pretty sure he will be thinking about it. Also if the heart and soul is ripped out the current team I think he will be off regardless

Barry Douglas, DUFC l/back, out of contract.
Good player and at 23yr the type of age we go after.
Lech Poznan have invited him over to look at their set up but keeping options open.
Been offered a contract at Utd but sure he'll be away if a decent offer put on table.
Cheap option and a player who would only improve. Put pressure on Emilo who has been caught out plenty this season. Hasn't learnt from any of the balls over the top, losing his man or balls dropping in at back post. Probably because he knows his position is safe not helping.
Stevo Dundee {Ed007's Note - Stevo, CFC have been in contact with Doncaster Rovers about their young LB/LW James Husband.}

Believable3 Unbelievable2

ED007; Never heard of the boy Husband mate. Any clues? A relative of Jimmy Husband maybe as well? {Ed007's Note - Ed001, who keeps a close on all the young prospects, says he is a quality player and the Doncaster fans really rate him. I tried to see if there was any link with the older Husband but I can't see any, it is a bit of a unique name though so who knows.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Did the same and a quick check never showed up anything.
Ed, what you think of Douglas? Trying to temper the expectations of potential signings this summer
Stevo Dundee {Ed007's Note - Douglas would do a decent job in the SPL.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe I can shed some light on James Husband as I live in Doncaster. I have seen him play a few times and there is no doubting the player has a future ahead of him. He's young versatile and can pick a pass. Think it would be a good move if Celtic are looking at him.

What about the boy chalmers at celtic is he not worth a chance next year?. mark

Just wondering. ! Really hope Lennon doesn't leave for Everton (which a don't think he will) but if he did who do u think Celtic would look at to replace him?

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Does anyone think MON could be tempted back?

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see Lenny getting the Everton job, if he did then I think you'd have to look abroad for a manager, there aren't too many candidates available here. Some might say mjallby but I'd want someone with a bit of a track record to push us on. I would say that we should do our best to retain John parks services, I think he's been central to our recent signing success.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be wired seen MON back but would find it hard to say no. John Park is a target for so many clubs in england so hopefully he u stays

Agree0 Disagree0

First and foremost I really hope Lenny stays. However if he did leav I would go for Alex Ferguson. On a serious note I don't think MO would be a good choice. Everwhere he has been in recent years he has spent a lot of money. I would love to see Mick McCarthy given the job. Maybe even give big Mjallby a chance. Craigy Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ange Postecoglou :)

Melb Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Mjallby for me. I like the cut of his jib. MON will still get good jobs in england imo. mark

Agree1 Disagree0

Mjallby and Henrik sweeds all the way

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely like most departing managers he would take his backroom staff with him si Mjallby would be out. Would rather see Lubo great experience in playing days all over europe and great example to the players

Hi Ed, this Charles Austin fella we're being linked (and have been for a few months), any updates on that? Is it likely to happen, now that EPL clubs supposedly want him too? How much would they be asking for if we do go for him as well,
Thanks
Verrix {Ed007's Note - WBA have made an approach to sign Austin and he is very keen on the move. The problem is his Mrs wants to move back down south and has been looking at houses in the Poole area. I doubt we will be anywhere close to signing him.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Ok cheers ed,

I have seen some speculation surrounding Lenny and the soon to be vacant position at Everton. Personally I don't think he will leave however of he did I think it would be a travesty. We have a very good young ambitious manager who happens to support our club and I think it would be suicidal to allow him to leave. We have progressed every season under Neil and long may it continue

Believable7 Unbelievable6

In all fairness, I think he is far too loyal to certain players ie mulgrew gets played anywhere to accomodate his place in the team, and winning the league on the lowest points tally is not progression. Love the guy but feel he needs to sort out the slacking of the team and focus on winning every match as has always been required for a manager of Celtic

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't want Lenny to go because I think he has still got a lot to learn but I think the lure of the premiership might just be too much, no matter what he has said in the past.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that Lennie has a lot to learn, but is Celtic the club he should be learning from, Celtic surely need a manager who knows the job, so that they could move forward, I think that Lennie has taken the club as far as he can, We need a more experienced manager, He has done a good job, I feel next season will see how well he has done,

Agree0 Disagree0

Look how well de did in Champs League.

And Barcelona!

Historical.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope he stays he has been brilliant for Celtic.
Also EPL was a poisoned chalice for Wally.
Grass is not always greener!

Agree0 Disagree0

Mr Lennon could be our gaffa for the next 20 years like they did way back when. GBNL

Marco Rojas has signed for Stuttgart

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Ooooh that's a miss for us! He went on a free transfer as well. He'll rip up the Bundesliga

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't know how serious we were but as usual we seem to have hesitated too long if we did fancy him as reported?
Or was it a case of Rojas - Rogic. Oops we did it again?

Former Hull defender Steven Mouyokolo is on trial at Lennoxtown :/

Believable8 Unbelievable4

Always had potential but very injury prone. If fit he could do a good job.

Simply, more penny pinching, we have to start getting smart. Or else, DISASTER WILL FOLLOW.

Agree0 Disagree1

This is Celtic down to a tee to only think about there attacking options, We really need a decent center back. Antony

Agree0 Disagree1

Hey doom prophet relax. I am sure we will all enjoy the new concourse and development at CP. Proof of penny pinching there in some peoples estimation. Try saying omh under a pyramid for 5 mins. It really helps. Sopotcelt.

Anthony - He is a centre back!

CELTIC manager Neil Lennon is being tipped to take over from David Moyes at Everton should the Goodison boss leave to replace Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

The Parkhead manager's stock has risen in the past year and it is reported this morning that he is the high on the list of potential candidates that Everton chairman Bill Kenwright would draw on should Moyes depart.

The Everton boss is expected to be unveiled as the new manager of Manchester United imminently following Alex Ferguson's announcement yesterday that he was bringing an end to his 27-year reign.
Moyes has finished consistently in the top half of the Premiership and has turned down a number of contract extensions.
Kenwright has been alerted to Lennon's potential availability with the Celtic manager admitting in recent interviews that he could be tempted to the Premiership if the right job offer came along.
