I might have guessed the Maloney back to celtic right. Bback page headline in tomorrow's paper has RD admitting to a celtic interest. Thoughts on a Maloney return? I'd love to have him on the left of the '3'. Markie

Hate ex players coming back and he's done it once already and was rubbish so not changing ma mind this time

Agree1 Disagree0

Not for me. Good player for us in the past but don't really see the point of signing him again

Agree1 Disagree0

Would rather have Commons, give him his two year contract, not as injury prone as Shaun
Tambhoy

Agree2 Disagree0

We won't give commons his 2 year contract seemingly because of his age but will give Maloney a decent pay & he's 32? Doesn't add up to me to me commons better player better goalscorer, I like Shaun but don't see the point in signing him again.

See that its between us and Sheffield United for the signing of GMS I hope we do get him think he'll be a good signing a lot better than Tonev and Berget.

read somewhere 200k was the fee they were raising there bid to. surely this can't be right ed or is it? I think he would be a good signing for this sort of money

the loan fees for tonev, wakaso and berget would of bought him and probably paid his wages for some time to

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I can't see Dundee Utd letting GMS leave for that kind of money, it's not as if they are desperate for cash and they would probably prefer keeping him until the end of the season.}

GMS would be a good signing but surely Armstrong has to be the pick since we were too tight fisted to sign Robertson! But I don't feel Berget has had a proper opertunity when he's played he has showed touches of class not that I'm saying he's a good signing just that he's not been given enough of a go.

Agree0 Disagree1

GMS would be good for us and Armstrong would be a great signing. Berget was woeful I watched every game he played and couldn't see any signs he had seen a ball before never mind signs of class

What's peoples thoughts on the talk were bidding for Doyle? Seems like another case of quantity over quality for me. Then we'll be clutxhing at straws saying well he's only 24 and has a good record bla bla bla. Take it Guidetti has told us to GTF?

This would be embarrassing. Guy flopped at Hibs.

Chesterfield is his level, just leave him there.

Agree1 Disagree0

It would be a bit embarrassing. What happened to being in the market for a 5-6m player? Anyway, I'd much rather Scepovic be our number one striker and get the boy Kayode in for a few hundred k.

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree with you both, the thought of this guy pulling on the hoops is embarrassing, is this the level we are aiming for now? So much for not being in the market for a striker, according to Ronny the other day. And jim did u actually think we would be in the market for a player that costs that much, come on its CFC penny pinching AGAIN, I wouldn't be surprised if we missed out on a couple of bargains because Pete doesn't want to pay an extra 20quid for them.

I had the same initial thoughts as you guys but after reading about him he could be worth a punt at the money quoted. B4 hibs he was a scoring sensation at Sligo rovers, didn't do well at hibs but they played him out of position out wide. Now scoring goals for fun at Chesterfield and attracting a lot of bigger clubs not just us. So surely worth a punt? Markie

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Just like Balde, Bangura, Pukki Daryl Murphy, Griffiths and Lassad were all worth a punt.}

I hope this is all paper talk we can do better than him. I can remember him at hibs and I wasn't that impressed to tell the truth i'd rather take Nadir from united. I seen in the daily rag that Bolton have made the first steps to lure Commons away celtic should get a grip and give him the 2 yr contract he wants he's been a great player for us since day one!.

Every signing is a gamble. Markie

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - They are if you're 'taking a punt' on sh1te.}

I'll take your word for it that he's rubbish, you sound like you know what your talking about. If he's that bad and we are interested then maybe you should be doing john parks job ed as he must be rubbish to. Markie

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - If you've seen Doyle playing you'd know for yourself, if you've not seen him how do you know he's worth a punt, because he's Irish? I've said before Park is a total failure when it comes to spotting strikers, none that he has recommended have been a success so I guess I would be better, nice of you to notice and say though, thanks.}

I'm choosing not to believe this for now, we don't need a striker, Doyle is mince & most importantly Pedro would never spend 1.5m on him

Agree0 Disagree0

Why does John Park stay in his job, when he seems to be responsible for bringing so much dross to the club?
Considering Lawwell is so money conscious, you wonder at him putting up with someone who seems to cost the club so much money.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I think he fails miserably at finding any decent strikers, not one of his recommendations has been a success but he does seem to have a knack of spotting decent defenders and midfielders. He's made the club a lot of money through transfer deals but as you say a lot has been wasted on players that should never have been given the chance to play for CFC, even on loan.}

I think the fact that it's Rotherham we'd be up against says it all for me. We really should be competing with other CL or EL league sides for signings. Not Rotherham.
