Evening ed,

Am writing as more of a favour, wee bit of insight into me, am coach of a youth football team within Cumbernauld where I stay, used to play myself at pro youth but the team I coach with is carbrain boys club, don't knw if u can put tht in.

But using the link below you can see what we trying to do

http://m.dailyrecord.co.uk/ms/p/tmg/scotdr/sfa7f7gha7fx0XkxrBkdEvQ/view.m?id=4338301&tid=638956&cat=News

All I need is for you to post this so people can see what councils are doing to local teams trying to bring out the best in these young kids.

Much appreciated

Cumby Bhoy {Ed007's Note - No problem mate. That is a shocking state of affairs, good luck with it.}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Shocking, the council raised the prices for hiring school pitches through here in Edinburgh! Really encouraging youth football and youth fitness by making it more expensive

Agree0 Disagree0

I can slightly understand where the council are coming from with this, however, if Buckfast wasn't available, then it would only be something else that would take it's place.

I totally agree there can be no advertisement on the club shirts. The OF don't do it for Tenants for the kids shirts.

Our team, under 10's attended the Carbrain Soccer Festival last year Sat/Sun and it was brilliant.

Good luck with it, hope you get a result.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am fed up seeing good school facilities locked up at 5pm on a Friday and left to rot during school holidays. The kids in this country are not given the support from the local authorities. CM

Agree0 Disagree0

I live in cumbernauld and tonic wine is a big problem , but if the company are willing to give something back to the local community and help out such a good cause who the hell are nlc to say no , maybe if they didnt waste half a million quid on stupid neon waves that local good causes wouldnt have to look elsewhere for help !!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I can understand if that's what was going to happen, but on several occasions they have been told no logos will be anywhere as this is a cash donation not a sponcership.

I personally as a coach wouldn't allow it either, but it's just ridiculous what they doing its hard enough trying to run a team.

Am only 22 and ave got a job n stuff but I do this 3 to 4 times a week for the kids surely the council can help us out a little.

Just shocking

Cumby Bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont know how you can say tonic wine is the problem, it is the people who drink tonic wine. it's like when people say facebook causes trouble, when its the users who do. On the up side, we should get a petition going and get the council to give into the pressure of the people - the people who vote them into the role they are in!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the council are probably acting illegally. it's not within their rights to discriminate against one particular product. indeed they could be acused of favouring other products. all drinks companies would have to be banned from sponsorship of football clubs. it looks like a case of someone overstepping his or her powers. unless a blanket ban has been introduced for drinks companies sponsoring youth football.

With the league won and a statement of intent to get into the CL next season who do you think we should be looking to bring in? If Lawell is going to say that he and Dermot Desmond surely will need to get together and get the cheque book out.

IMO given we're likely to be playing the defensive in Europe against far better sides we should be looking at sorting the defence out once and for all. Our recent young signings have been great, but I'd like to see us go for someone more established with a bit of experience in Europe. A dominant and importantly - intelligent leader-type centre half is a must to keep the defence organised, and obviously a goalkeeper if Forster can't be kept on.

I hear Arsenal want rid of Mertesacker. Can't see it happening, but would love to see us at least try and bring him in even if just on loan.

Believable0 Unbelievable13

Your mad mate. We have to sell to spend look what happened to rangers, metersaker would go back to Germany if he was leaving but would cost at least £6 million and we won't spend that on 2 players never mind 1.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldnt be too hasty with the chq book ...look what living beyond your meens done to the dodgers over the road...Re-building will take a spot of demolision first ,to create a bit of space for new materials ...materials maybe in a raw form that will require some careful craftmanship .....Rome wasnt built in a day ,and given the current economical climate a wee bit of patience is required ......TTTS

Agree0 Disagree0

OP here.

Yeah I totally agree - squad and wage bill needs trimmed.

However, I reckon rather than spending on several players we should spend on two or three big players that'd sort out, in particular, our defensive frailties.

We'll sell several and buy one or two we live within our means...

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually I can see us paying decent money for a player but we have to sell first. For example Hooper at 6-8mil, Ki for 5? That is a lot of wonga. Also if the fringe players are released it frees up some substantial funds from saved wage costs. So I would not say we wont buy big. What I will say is the board has said for a couple of years it will balance the books. We may be able to do that and buy big or at least but bigger for the right player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree and also no more final paydays for over the hill players in the mould of the Keanes,Llungberg,Wright, etc.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Keane(robbie) wouldnt call him over the hill done all right while he was there but I agree ,money could have better spent ,another plus is we dont have to keep up with the theiving jones anymore ...level playing field from now on and our honestly grafted pounds will outnumber their honestly grafted pounds .. TTTS

Agree0 Disagree0

We could move on Mastorovic O'dea McGinn McCourt Loovens Ki Commons Banguura and mibi even stokes to free up some money for 3-4 quality players on a decent wage.

Agree0 Disagree0

People saying look at what living beyond your means does, on the other hand you have to speculate to accumulate spend money for quality players, get it back from the revenue received by being in the champions league. Seems pretty simple to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was just on a site looking at the 1967 European Cup winning team, and to be honest I'm sorry I did because it makes this team we have now look like a lot of numpties, from Simpson to Charmlers and Jock Stein as boss, what a team this lot would make you weep, sorry but in Europe "we are sunk"

Lots of rangers fans complaining about how hated they are and the venom directed to them by other clubs. How can they not understand why? A shameful list of creditors, non payment of taxes,an arrogance thats beyond belief and a three hundred year old songbook does not make friends. For any non bigot rangers fan i truly feel sorry, and would miss the fixture if rangers are demoted, but the punishment must be severe. The laptop loyal are,of course, out in force telling us why rangers must stay in the SPL.For every argument for,the counter must be the integrity of the SPL.How on earth can rangers be allowed to compete in the top league if they are liquidated and reformed? What would happen if the dual contracts claim was proved correct three months into the season? What would the punishment be? Jealous gers fans are also quick to rubbish our chances in europe this season,i bet they would love to be there!I actually think we have a chance of qualifying to the C/L group stages as the team are growing with every game. One or two quality signings will be a priority i think.Failing that i think we should be looking for a good europa league run,out of the groups at least. So all in all lots to look forward to,but remember this is a young team who will make mistakes,so saturdays level of support will be needed.Lets step up celts we might be surprised next season............green jhedi

Believable15 Unbelievable5

Come off it when was the last big signing we have to get a grip we couldnt bet the mm to win the spl we couldnt even score at the national stadium against killie ffs we are 6 or 7 quality players and 30 or 40 mill from that so forget europe and try and do 5 or 6 in a row and maybee a couple of trebles hh jim the tim

Agree0 Disagree0

@jim the tim. Not big signings mate, quality. The cup final quote is fair, but for an inspired keeper,we would have won.The age of the team might have helped killie too as we looked nervy second half.My signings would be Daly and russell from utd and one midfielder(ibrahim?).........green jhedi

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a Gers fan, I wouldn't disagree with most of the comments in the post however, when it comes to songbooks I don't think Celtics is much different in terms of bigotry.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we are aloud back in the spl then maybe questions should be asked about the spl board and it's members who would vote to let them back in. Lets say rangers liquidated reformed and got let back in that would go to show how bad the spl is and how two faced the members are {Ed007's Note - How on earth would it show how two faced the board members are? None of them have shown 'a face' throughout the entire Rangers fiasco for them to show another one. What a very odd thing to say.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Daly and russell if thats what u call quality signings forget europe

Agree0 Disagree0

People saying we have no chance in Europe, this team with no experience of playing against top sides in European competition done themselves proud against the likes of Atlético Madrid and Udinese. In my opinion with a few quality signings we can Qualify and do well.

ed you are a knowegable guy, if they go into liquidation they start in the third and that is their punishment which would last for at least three years ntil they get back to the spl , or they stay in the spl with no chance of winning it for at least three years . ie a 25 point deduction for the first three years , that would be for walking away from debt. but what if they agree a cva and stay as they are and where they are , they would still be walking away from part or most of their debtv, does that mean they would still get point deductions for three years as a punishment for '' walking away''.. bb {Ed007's Note - I expect any Rangers newco would be voted straight back into the SPL, any punishment will be decided by the SPL/SFA.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

In the event of RFC avoiding Liquidation, and a cva can be agreed (doubtful on all of the above) then we have not avoided anything, nor have we walked away from anything. A CVA is a "Creditors voluntary agreement" which means anyone owed money (creditor) has agreed to it.
So therefore your snide wee comments disguised as a question, have no foundation.

Stevie-A-Bear.

Agree0 Disagree0

Creditors hardly have a choice something or nothing. So RFC took others money knowing full well they couldnt pay it back and deceived the taxman at the same time and before you chime in with we havent been found guilty , yes you have your tribunal is an appeal . Not in position to claim moral high ground . Take the flak youse deserve it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Excuse me for my ignorance but i was under the impression that if Rangers went bust, the team that finishes 12th would be spared relegation and as Ross County has fulfilled all criteria necessary to compete in the SPL they could not be refused promotion. Would this not mean all 12 SPL places would be allocated and any newco Rangers would need to apply to the SFL for membership.

TerribleBeauty {Ed007's Note - Rangers can apply for immediate re-entry into the SPL, it would then be decided by the SPL board.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Stevie a typical bear, so you think that the rest of us tax payers should pay more tax because your club has cheated us.

Agree0 Disagree0

My apologies. However this throws up another question. At present the current voting structure requires 11 - 1 in favour of any resolution. Surely with Rangers no longer being in the SPL it would leave only 11 teams in the SPL meaning a 10-1 vote would be required. I can only assume that Dunfermline would vote against Rangers getting straight back in, both to avoid relegation and the quote by the Dunfermline chairman that supports the fact he would vote against. Mr Romanov might also have something to say about any newco being allowed straight entry into the SPL. I can only imagine there be may a couple of other chairman who would not be in favour of an immediate return (Dundee Utd, Motherwell and perhaps even Celtic).

TerribleBeauty {Ed007's Note - It is only the SPL board that will vote on it, not all SPL member clubs.}

Agree0 Disagree0

As a tax payer stevie i am a creditor as most of the money is owed to the people of this country, and i for one would see them die before agreeing to any cva . better off without you bb

Agree0 Disagree0

The SPL voting for newco entry into the league would be something similar to "sir" d minty putting Airdrie out of business and would be a grave mis justice to both Dunfirmline and Ross County .If they are to command any respect things must be done properly ......TTTS

Agree0 Disagree0

Yea see them die just to reform as a new club it would make no difference it will either be rangers as it is now or a new rangers

Agree0 Disagree0

To all the tax 'experts' on this site - If the Big Tax Case has already been decided and Rangers are merely appealing the value why then has HMRC stated that it (HMRC) will 'appeal' in the event that Rangers are successful?

Rangers' cannot necessarily run away from the mismanagement of the previous directors, nevertheless it is important to get facts right as well.

By the way, it should also be recognised that the published creditors list does not simply include organisations that won't be paid but merely ones which may not have been paid at the date of accounts. There will be a considerable number of creditors who's payment may not have fallen due yet. I'm sure Celtic (like others) also publish creditor liabilities that fall due within the following twelve months, or longer - it's nothing illegal to do so is it!!

Agree0 Disagree0

The spl/sfa will bend over backwards to accomodate the shame club of not only scotland but europe. mark my words.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is a line taken directly from the SPL rule book.

"SPL rules allow for the member share of a liquidated club to be transferred to another company, providing 90% of clubs agree on possible sanctions and the league’s board then approve the sale"

Does this mean before any newco is created, the remaining 11 teams would have to agree to sanctions BEFORE the club could be sold?

Does anyone have this interview where lenny supposedly cast a doubt on his future? Everything I heard was very much looking forward to the challenge of the champions league and building the squad..plus the 'this is the beginning tshirt' would be a give away?!

Believable7 Unbelievable2

I made a comment a few days ago about NL possibly walking after this season. I believe it would be for his family's sake. But I was shot down in flames. How many of us would put up with racist, religious, red-hair bigotry not to mention the different standards adhered to by the judicial courts in Scotland. In spite of all of that he stayed the course supported by his family and real friends. If he walks then all of the previous failures should make those concerned hang their heads in shame. It's time we moved on. There is no King Williams on a white charger in control, the Provos et al have downed their weapons and moved on. I am not saying forget for whatever personal convictions you have but we will never be a force in football as long as we bring them to the terraces.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he just said it had been tough on his family but that's about it. Went on and said he wants to get us into the Champions league groups next
