Celtic have been back in touch with PSV Eindhoven to try and agree a compensation package for Zakaria Bakkali. A lot of the 'bigger' clubs who were interested in the young Belgian have now taken a step back from the situation, possibly because Bakkali is seen to have a a reputation for being difficult to work with.
PEC Zwolle were quoted a fee of 400k Euros by PSV when they recently enquired about the player.

Even if he is difficult to work with, at that price he is well worth a gamble .

A teenage winger who has "attitude issues" apparently
All the big clubs, EPL teams took an interest only to shy away due to his "problems / application"
But a major talent in my eyes (y)

Most fifa fans will know him as a young prospect ti but in career mode with great potential not saw enough of him to pass judgement in real life but given the last winger from Dutch league celtic signed Its defo a gamble
Think we should be looking to strengthen at the back as a priority

He is a cheaper option to Wakaso who hasn't done enough and has a big price tag to make permanent but he has potential to make a huge profit for us if we get him for 400k.

Definitely something to be excited about. Can't be any more of a problem than players we already have.

Teckers. 400k just seems incredibly good value though!
{Ed007's Note - Remember the 400k Euros isn't a transfer fee, Jimbo, it's training compensation as the player's contract expires in the summer. PSV were trying to get Bakkali to sign a contract extension so that they would get a transfer fee but the player refused.

Ta Ed.
Don't want to cast doubt but as much as I think the eredevisie is a pond we should fish in. If he's already at a club which should get CL football and in a better league, perhaps he might be the kind of young lad who would see us as a step back. Hopefully it's playing regularly he wants to leave for and we can give him a platform for a few seasons touch wood maybes longer.
{Ed007's Note - He's certainly a talent but I do think it will be a big ask of PL to get him in. It's good to see that's the calibre/quality of player we're looking at though, if he could be brought in he's exactly the type of player CFC supporters would turn up to watch.}

I think the spl with celtic is more of a route to the epl than the Dutch league there has been a lot of talent in that league who have left to la liga seria a bundesliga and fizzled out
The wages paid by burnley qpr etc are up there with Valencia dortmund etc so a year or 2 in scotland filling the trophy cabinet and experience Euro nights then onto epl for a massive pay day could be more of an attraction to young pros
Just a thought
