I wonder if the bhoys and ghirls at the games will stop singing 'celtic football club, is in the wrong hands'. We seem to be in excellent shape just now. I'd rather have Mr Lawell et al running us and running us within our means, rather than whats happening across the city. Keep up the good work lads

Good luck 2moro ed007

I would just like to pay tribute to the Celtic board for a moment.(Not often is that said). It's because of the professionalism of Brian Quinn,Brian Dempsey, Eric Riley, Dermot Desmond, Peter Lawwel, Ian Livingston and of course....The Bunnet that we are not in the position of rangers. I have been guilty on many occasions of calling the board skinflints and misers but look what happens when you live beyond your means. Since our PLC status in 1994 Celtic has attracted highly qualified professional people and investors and we are still thriving. The same can not be said across the city, so the biscuit tin wins through afterall.

Believable30 Unbelievable7

Hail hail from the tims of Prestwick and well say'd

Agree0 Disagree0

I have been a fan of Lawwell for years and was always arguing about his role with other fans.Glad to see him get a bit of praise now.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember snivelling keevins say "no one cares about a good balance sheet, they want titles" exactly the attitude which has sunk rangers!

Agree0 Disagree0

Would like to reply to this post ........But too much JELLY & ICE_CREAM... WE DONT'T DO WALKING AWAY.....OUR AGENTS WALK FOR US!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Here here well said mate,kb-bhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Keevins... another idiot parasite of the sullied and tainted elite (LMFAO) press corps in Scotland...He and his Lackeys are about as much use as a spreadsheet at Ibrokes!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hear hear! For all the moaning over the years we have been financially robust and on a sound footing since the dawn of the Bunnett. With Peter Lawwell we have an excellent Chief Executive (remember Arsenal and I think Liverpool were interested previously) who manages the business side well, with good governance form our PLC board.

No question in my that we are one of the best run clubs in Europe at this time - think about the income streams that we refused to sell away for quick bucks:

*Internet media rights, Celtic TV
*The club stores and online sales
*Diversification into the Far East markets with Nakamura and Ki

In no way to underestimate the contribution of our coaching and scouting staffs, we're the envy of a lot of clubs with a lot more cash to splash.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree and when things aren't going so well it is easy to look for a 'blamehound' and we have moaned in the past about the lack of spending and the decline in standards etc etc.... But we are here today, stronger, with a group of players with terrific potential thanks to the doctrine and unwaivering commitment of these men. Come on you Bhoys in Green.

Jungle Jim

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't forget The Paradise Windfall - the Biggest same day draw - in the World !

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets not forget all the success on the park lol the great runs in Europe and to finally cap it all taking the league from a depleted/dejected/demoralized almost dead rangers team at the 4th attempt lol

Agree0 Disagree0

The notion that anything other than liquidisation (lol) will follow today's announcements is absolute folly. Even if any of the potential blue sh*tes could put an offer in quickly enough not one of them should ever pass the "fit and proper" test even if it could be completed on time. So .....get the jelly made and buy the ice cream boys. Hail hail

I would paye, sorry pay, to hear what mr Desmond thinks of what's going down with govans shame, I think he deserves a round of applause at our next home game for what he has done for our club,

looks like Peter lawwell decision to hunt the shame with the £300K proved right again, wonder what the laptop loyalists will write about that, still just think how much jelly and ice cream he can buy.

Vatman

Believable13 Unbelievable7

The jelly and ice cream gag has run its course - no longer funny mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Disagree its still very funny

Agree0 Disagree0

Its getting funnier....We should consider the last ever old firm game as Krusty the clown day or wear a green nose and paint your face Whyte day, or feed bears only liquids day...come on there are many better patter merchants than me here and I am sure we can come up with something very funny.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who said it's run it's course?

Always look on the bright side of life is still going and that's ancient.

Leave people alone to enjoy the craic

Richybhoy.....HH {Ed001's Note - as a neutral I don't personally think it has ever been funny. But no joke gets funnier by constant repetition, just more annoying.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The Jelly and ice cream gag will never die... Unlike Rangers!

JELLY AND ICE CREAM FOR ALL... {Ed001's Note - what are you 5 years old? Give it a rest, it is boring and has been done way past death. You are doing nothing but making yourself look stupid and turning neutrals against you.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope that when the dust settles and we emerge as the only power in the
football landscape here in Scotland that the powers at Parkhead remember
the years of negative coverage we have received at the hands of the
laptop loyal and treat them accordingly.

Believable21 Unbelievable5

As if the Scottish league is not bad enough, now with Rangers out of it? it's going to be one long yawn, Scottish Ferries will be sick with no Rangers fans travelling over from N.I. or trains from London, well a lot of so called Celtic fans have got their way, the highlight of the season Celtic vrs Aberdeen or maybe Motherwell what a / bore, think I'll take up Rugby.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jelly and ice cream everyone, but not for the poster above, sour grapes for him! LMFAO.

Hope the club remember traynor and co! Time for history to be made lennon could do 10......

i think we should give them a loan , just enough to keep the alive until the 25th , so that we can be the last team to beat them before they go forever . and we win the league at greyskull , and they lose 4 in a row at home for the first time ever. come on now surely all thats worth giving them a wee loan , billybhoy

Believable5 Unbelievable3

As long as it has 3000% interest

Agree0 Disagree0

1 problem with this sh*t. who needs a loan to get thru to 25th?? seems like there players have heart and soul. maybe if we had that last season we not lose league john bhoy

Ed

that statement ive just heard is D&P serving notice of another statement already written for Friday.and with all the old directors/owners slinging mud at each other and failure to agree on wage cuts with certain players has promted them to issue what they have just said.the statement on Friday will be confirmation of Liquidation, and to add more pain to this if HMRC had been given the roll of administrators its highly likely they wouldve saved them from the fate that awaits of Friday.

hope all goes well tomorrow bud

Lubo25 {Ed007's Note - Thanks Lubo mate. The only way out is either severe redundancies (releases) or liquidation. I can't see where else it can go.}

Believable10 Unbelievable2

Redundancies do not sort out the problem, that is only a sticking plaster.

Known debt of £15m, Whyte's floating charge of £18m, millions to buy out Whyte's shares, no European football, payment to Ticketus of £40m - £45m over 3 years, and that is without the Big Tax case.

Liquidation is almost a certainty.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no where left for them to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2012 17:49:49
i may be wrong ed but if they cannot fufill fixtures does it not mean relegation {Ed007's Note - If they can't fulfil fixtures it means expulsion as far as I know.}

Believable8 Unbelievable2

If they can't fulfil fixtures it is because of liquidation, therefore there will be no more Rangers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your right again Ed.

07 Mar 2012 17:32:12
what is to stop rankers laying their big earners off and ending the season with the youth team, that would avoid liquidation? could it be that even staring death in the face they cant take the thought of a right beating off celtic?i really hope this event is investigated as something stinks here.why no sackings two weeks ago? why sally pushing the back stronger lies?

Believable6 Unbelievable2

If they ssack there first team they can play there youth team nothing can stop them

Agree0 Disagree0

What i would like to know is why did other clubs in admin take 72hrs to sack playing staff to reduce outgoings and the rankers after 3 weeks done nothing. Smells fishy but feels good!!

Agree0 Disagree0

The administrators are in a catch 22 situation. It is not as simple as making all the high earners redundant and playing the youth team. The high earners are almost the only assets that Rangers have left. If they get rid of them to save cost, then Rangers will become almost unsaleable as they will be basicaly worthless and therefore would not be able to pay off all the debts they have. So the admin have to either keep players and run at a loss which they cant do or sack player and be worthless, which they cant do. The only options is either players to take a wage cut to save the required costs or someone donates a few million to get them to the end of the season and then they are sold. The most lightly outcome i think will be liquidation as i cannot see any of the above options happening

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Mar 2012 17:02:33
latest news , they are going to have to sack the entire squad , and may not be able complete the fixture list , they will do anything to get out of losing four in a row at home , lmfao , billybhoy

See Walter nae surname is quoted on BBC "I don't think we ever thought it was going to be this bad...." "I wish somebody could bring some clarity to the situation" Aye and the band played....
Heres a guy who was hand in hand with Murray for a decade while all the big tax dodgers... sorry wage earners were being signed on demand.
This is a 'Silver Fox' and the 9-in-a-row mastermind, so how come he knew nothing about what was going on at his club and to what extent?
Older posters might remember Tv prog Hogans Heroes and Sgt Schultz 'I Know Nothing...NOTHING'
Or was he only obeying orders?

what's happened to the guy Ibrahim? Are e likey to see him before the season is out? Just wondered, heard good things about him. Johnny Russell, would like to see him arrive in the Summer too - any goss? {Ed007's Note - I think Ibrahim will get a chance this season. As for Russell I expect him to leave Utd in the summer although Peter Houston wants him to stay until next summer. CFC spoke to DU about him in January but they weren't keen to sell him.}

The Sun reportted that Greg Whylde
has said he will never sigh for Celtic.
Whats he on we neither need or
want this guy in our squad.

Believable31 Unbelievable3

Sandy jardine's advice to him shows why very little celtic fans have any sympathy for rangers at the minute. He went back 20 years with that moronic "don't ever sign with celtic" statement

Agree0 Disagree0

C'mon Bhoys. Who in their right mind would sign for their biggest rivals under the present circumstances? SJ was not being bigoted but sensible.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sensible bigoted or somewhere in between who knows? but we should NOT be going anywhere near their players. Its a no win. If they say yes we look like scavengers with no class if they say no we look like fools.

Agree0 Disagree0

Has anybody said we wanted to sign him? and if so should be shown the door.the boy couldn`t get a game for them so why would we want to pay for him to be a sub in our reserves,kb-bhoy

David

Agree0 Disagree0

Has Greg Wylde since leaving RFC(IN ADMINISTRATION) been asked to sign for Celtic.....NO.... More misinformation from the MSM.... Sandy Jardin asks him not to sign for CFC proving there is still conflict on RFC(IN ADMINISTRATION) part between them and CFC......RFC(IN ADMINISTRATION) in trouble lets not let the facts get in the way..... RFC(IN ADMINISTRATION) are being investigated by The SFA, The SPL, an ex-director making accusations about ETB's, Two contracts, Non payment to Clubs of Scottish Cup monies, Non payment of SPL ticket monies to fellow clubs... Non payment of transfer fees... THE BIG TAX CASE... So what do the MSM focus on.... How dare CFC ask for ticket money before the game on 28/12/11... How dare CFC not pay RFC(IN ADMINISTRATION) up front for tickets before the game 0n 25/03/12 ...Scottish Football needs a stong RFC(IN ADMINISTRATION).. IF RFC(IN ADMINISTRATION) cease to be or are removed from the SPL, the SKY contract becomes nil and void... To all Celtic people take a step back and look at these publications....Remember when Celtic where in trouble.... Broken Crests everyday, Hearse parked Outside Parkhead, Tombstone On Back Pages....... Contrast that with what is happening now and how the MSM have take a vow of silence.... We can't comment on these stories due to legal implications...Just some of the peaches from the MSM (H.Kevins---- Artur Jorge), (J.Traynor----Billionare To Buy Rangers--- David Murray Enjoys Succulent Lamb), (K.Jackson---Craig Whyte-Billionare, Vast Business Empire, WEALTH OFF THE RADAR), You don't need to buy them you can access them on line...
