I see Michael Laudrup has been saying Joe Allen is worth 15 to 20 million . I would hope Celtic would be doing something similar when it comes to Ki or any of our first team players . Also Ed do you think the interest for Big Vic has cooled awee bit and have Man Utd still have a wee interest in Izzy?........DH {Ed007's Note - Arsenal are still as interested in Wanyama as they were over the weekend, they are preparing a bid. Man Utd had representatives at last week's CL match, I'm not convinced by the reports that they were watching Wanyama, they have watched Izaguirre for so long and now it looks as if Baines is out of their reach they might try for Izaguirre.}

ED007 in todays papers, it is being reported Arsenal are looking at Ki also. Surely Celtic will not sell Ki, Wanyama and Izzi? We would make good money but would board re invest in players? Timalloy {Ed007's Note - I can't see all three of them being sold, but money talks Tim.}

I think we need to get agrip and stop thinking our players are worth anywhere near premiership players. I dont like saying this but Jelavic went for 5m and now hes prob worth 15m cause he score a few goals. No rangers or celtic player is worth 10m+. Ki is worth 4-6m, the only player worth anywhere near 10m would be wanyama due to his age and versatility. Hopper would be as well if he manages to score in big games such as tonight on a more regular basis. I still dont understand y aresenal would want wanyama when they have alex song,wilshere and rasmey all of a similar age. DO you think Steven Fletcher would be worth 12m is he still played in scotland , not a chance in hell.
Sorry about the rant bhoys
Cmon the Hoops lets do it tonight!!

hi all, first of all, ed, I've tried to register myself before but failed, I don't know how to become a member, I have had some posts going live with no name but I've also failed in posting. I use the name greentartanhoops on every other site, will you keep me on file please? {Ed007's Note - If you just put your name (greetartanhoops) at the bottom of your post and keep tagging the e-mail field it will be fine. You don't need to register or become a member as such mate, and welcome to the site.}

Mabye he wouldnt get a game but he doesent suit scottish football to rough for him that is why we need to sell im off get more money i would say about 6 to 9 millon by henriksen for 3.5 and look into a strong cb like mensah who is a free agent and is very excited about the prospect and use the rest to try and buy a striker like rhodes or johnny russell or even both

Afternoon ed,
A wee bit of chatter going on about Celtic playing on the artificial surface tomorrow night, personally I don't think this will cause an issue, they train on the same surface week in week out, as I remember from having my team up lennoxtown they are using 4g which is the surface which is the standard for UEFA artificial surface at the moment.
We also beat the Russian team away from home on there artificial surface, I am hopeful of slick passing game tomorrow night really looking forward to.
Also looking into get a paving stone put on the new Celtic way is a fantastic idea and it's like getting a star on famous street in Hollywood, but for me around the statues of brother walfrid, jock stein n jimmy Johnstone that's my Hollywood.
Anyone not seen it heres the link to the info on the website www.celticfc.net/newsstory?item=2903

Agreed cumby, whilst the surface gives the Finns an advantage in terms of familiarity to that specific pitch, we do more work on this surface than we do on grass.
Think we seen last week that Helsinki will punt the ball over the top trying to get chances. Need rogne in and none of this victor at ch carry on.
I feel that this change last week was entirely the wrong one. Thomas hardly ever loses in the air these days and even when he does you can be sure the opponent hasn't had it easy. I also think that victor wins so many balls in the middle of the park that its actually ridiculous, the ball seems totally drawn to him in there at times.
I feel vic in cm offers us more of a chance to win the ball back farther up the park than any other cm we have and with our frailties on occasion at the back surely it makes sense that we should offer as much and as good protection as possible?
That is not a dig at our other cms before anyone picks me up wrong lol

The finns pitch is 3g not 4g its about 6 years old that were the worry is coming from
Agree0
Disagree1
Apologies about the mistake, but point I am trying to make is we train on it however many days a week, we play bounce games on it, professional football players should be able to adjust in no time with regards to the pitch, even my under 14's team does it.
Hail Hail

Sorry to go against yourselves , but Celtic first team do not train on tge turf unless indoors. The first team train and play Bonce games on the grass. Our youth development and ladies teams train and play on the super turf
Agree0

I took my niece to Lennoxtown last Thursday, received a cheeky wee tour of the facilities too....and the guy who took us around said the 1st team NEVER go near the 4G pitch....
Agree0
Disagree1
This can only be the case as of recently. Lennon said last season he was looking into the artificial surface used at Lennoxtown as a possible reason for the niggly injuries first team players were picking up last season. This is fact
Jamie Mac
Agree0

Hence the team stopped playing on the 4g pitch.
Rogne is far too slow and HJK have pretty quick forward players. I think that was on Lennons mind when he played Victor at CB in first game. Agree tho that Victor is a big loss from the mid-field. Hbhoy.
