I can see why people are going on about getting a new striker, but I believe the problem is that they are getting virtually no service. On Wednesday Samaras found Hooper in the box, goal. How many other chances have we created for them. Commons apart, no other player creates much. Forrest can run all day, but final ball is very poor. Izzy on the other side can't find any Celtic player with any kind of pass, at the moment anyway.

Believable12 Unbelievable3

Mcgeough should be given chance in midfield - he seemed to have eye for a pass - why hold the lad back?

Agree1 Disagree0

We were talking about that during the game and I agree with you - that apart from too many players mysteriously off form at the same time - we are not creating enough chances and the passing and movement is well below par.
If any (or all) of :- Ki, Wanyama and Kayal go, we must use the cash to address this and increase flair, tempo and height.

Na have tae disagree, gettin players in good wide postions but everytime they look up theres naebody tae hit. a appreciate hooper coming back tae help the build up, but then he's gotta bust a gut tae get in the middle and a thought we established last year that sammy is a winger not a striker. We need more power upfront!! ps before any person says it again we dinnae want john sutton!

Lest not forget that we have only played 2 competitive games.

Everything will click, players will improve, chances will increase... Only one thing will be constant! NO RANGERS :)

Don't know why people chant for McGeough, watched him against Norwich and was a virtual bystander!

Hi Ed. Apologies as it looks like I started a wee trend with my question. I'm very impressed with the work you do and the clarity and quick response of your answers. Keep up the great work. {Ed007's Note - Thanks very much. Don't worry about that, I'm just glad to help.}

Hi ed, I was down in London at the weekend and the rumour down there is that John Carew is in contract talks with Celtic. Colin Turner

Believable5 Unbelievable19

He was finished 3 years ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

Noooooooooooooooo

Say it aint so

Agree0 Disagree0

Could be worth a one year deal, hes a free agent after leaving west ham

Agree1 Disagree1

Could do a job from the bench for a year. especially as a free transfer and maybe help coaching the forwards

Agree0 Disagree1

Kevin Kyle would have been a better bet and that's saying something !

if we go out on wed, do we go into europa qualifiers or is that us completely out of europe

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Europa qualifiers m8 if we get by helsinki then go out its europa group stages {Ed007's Note - If we go out to Helsinki we drop into the play-off round of the EL.}

Agree0 Disagree0

We need to win or we are out of europe all together {Ed007's Note - A draw would take is through................if we go out we go into the play-off round of the EL.}

Alright ed do you know how much the Blackburn bid is for Rhodes and if there's still interest from us ?

Kieran {Ed007's Note - The Blackburn bid is £4 million up front and £2 million if they are promoted back to the EPL next next year. CFC are still interested but there has been no formal offer made.}

Believable3 Unbelievable7

You would like to think we should be able to match that bid with the 7m for ki and possibly 8m for wanyama not forgetting the chance of getting 15m champions league money that you would have a better chance in qualifyin

Agree1 Disagree0

Aye rite 6 million for a young lad who has only played in the 1st division , you could and would get better for 6 million, we need a center half as well so there is no way we are paying that much for rhodes.

Agree0 Disagree1

I hope that celtic use all the money from the sale of ki to land this bhoy as he is a class act

Agree1 Disagree0

I would be absolutely amazed if Celtic pay anywhere near that amount of money for any player this season,never mind a player from the lower leagues in England! My guess would be Neil Lennon will be lucky if he gets to spend 4m on a centre half and a centre forward! Not really what I want but just being realistic guys,times are hard.
Bry the bhoy!

Agree1 Disagree0

Heard form john Kennedy that Celtic have made a deal with Huddersfield to sign Rhodes if we get in to the champions league lets hope we beat Helsinki

Agree0 Disagree1

I cant see the board putting an offer like that in for any players these days. wishfull thinking lads. whats your opinion ed?. can you see the club going for it with big transfers?...........bhoywonder {Ed007's Note - My heart says yes but my head says no.}

Cheers for that Ed. I think we'll need to keep Kayal if as we expect Wanyama could be on the move, would sell Hooper though if a decent bid comes in. Doesn't seem to have the right attitude so far

Weemarty {Ed007's Note - I wouldn't like to lose Wanyama AND Kayal either Marty, especially with Ki leaving as well.}

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Hi Ed just heard on sly sports news Southampton interersted in Kayal and Hooper have you heard anything??

Weemarty {Ed007's Note - I thought there interest in Hooper stopped when they signed Rodriguez, Southampton wouldn't pay what CFC wanted for him. Nigel Adkins wants to pair Kayal up with Steven Davis in MF but again the clubs' valuation of the player are very different.}

Afternoon ed! Was just snooping on the arsenal page and I know they are all rumour sites but some one posted that wanyama is signing a new 4 year deal! Was wondering if this was true and if it was, is it to push the price up if true.
Quality just oozes from him

Thanks Brian {Ed007's Note - I'd be surprised if he signed a new contract at CFC, Brian. Maybe it is the club's thinking that if he leaves they can say they done everything to keep him, even offering him an improved contract.}

Celtic Football Club statement

By: Newsroom Staff on 04 Aug, 2012 11:05

FOLLOWING recent events, the Club has been well aware of the issues around children's 'opt-in' tickets. We are pleased to announce the following statement.

"The vast majority of our supporters have not sought any form of compensation. However, a small minority of our supporters have made us aware of this inconsistency.

"Therefore, those who have bought children's tickets prior to July 4, 2012 and opted for the inclusion of the game featuring 'Rangers FC or a successor to it', will be able to receive a £30 voucher for Celtic stores.

'We understand that not all fans will wish to take up this offer. However, we are pleased to make this option available to those supporters who do. We will be writing to supporters shortly to confirm the details.'

The Club sincerely thanks all our fans for their continued support.

Jungle Bhoy.(Told You!)

Believable2 Unbelievable5

I did believe that soon as you posted it mate I was hoping that the delay in official announcement was because they had rethought it and decided to do the correct thing and simply refund cash value in its Entirety.

Utterly shameless the rangers or replacement disclaimer as no "replacement" team would bring the same volume of fans therefore the need to be rehoused elsewhere is redundant.

I am ashamed of the stance the club has taken on this, I mean vouchers that can't be used for x,y or z? Add in the mark up on the items that can actually be purchased from the shop and the refund amounts to 8quid or not far off.

Jamie Mac(scandal)

Agree0 Disagree0

The "Told You" was aimed at the doubters when i posted.I was in 2 minds whether to include that part anyway.IMO what the club should do is give a complete kit to each child affected as compensation.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

JB, do you know what happens to the opt out tickets when we play Dundee? I have a £50 ticket for my 5 year old son because I chose not to subject him to the bile of the rangers fans. Would his ticket be valid for all games or do I have to purchase additional tickets?

Skelly

Agree0 Disagree0

I really don't know Skelly,we don't usually have much to do with tickets in retail.I'm affected by the price too.

hi lennon has said he wants a cb and st before the window shuts who are these most likely to be IF we do qualify for cl hh

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I hope NL has lined up 2 centre halfs . He knew we needed one when Fojut got injured and we didnt sign him . Now if its true Wilson is on his way , I would say we need 2 . We could also be doing with a left back because ive seen nothing from Izzy since he came back from injury and if he gets injured again we are struggling .

Agree0 Disagree0

Depends on if we qualify for Europe or not and the sale of players Europe depends on the type of quality we will sign.
