Every one has been calling for a new lb but does any one think chalmers could step up? If not we should keep our eye on the young boy who just signed for Dundee utd

Joe Chalmers reminds me a lot of Charlie Mulgrew. Think he needs a permanent move away to allow him to develop. Maybe one day he may return as Charlie did, but for now he won't develop anymore at Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree1

If you mean Robertson, then yes. The lad went to my school and is a quality wee player. Celtic daft too so would be a no-brainer for him should the opportunity arise!

Andy Robertson was at Celtic when he was younger but they let him go because he was too small.

Agree0 Disagree0

Iv only seen the boy in one game but I was impressed by his display against us.

First time poster bhoys.

Do you think we will sign any of these free agents that have been banded about? Better question, do you think we need any freebies, bearing in mind that these guys are struggling to get a contract anywhere?

Personally I think the new signings should be given time to settle, only areas of concern are perhaps left back and for another striker now that Tony has left. Although Bang Bang Bangura's loan ends shortly. {Ed007's Note - Welcome to the site Kevy.}

Believable1 Unbelievable4

I think that we should give the new guys time to settle but feel that we do need cover in a couple of positions and think some of the guys that are available would help. Maybe on short term contracts that would suit the club and player to put them back in the window . First time poster. HH

Agree0 Disagree0

Our second tier lads who beat the Liverpool first 11 (previously undefeated in their full pre season) need a fair run out. Secondly, a Bhoy in the shirt is a Bhoy in the shirt and we need to get behind ALL the new bhoys and give them a warm welcome and our fullest support.
Hail hail.

Agree0 Disagree0

They'll only buy players if they're good enough and they're needed. wait and trust the board :)

Agree0 Disagree0

We are still short big Style in the Centre half position and left back. We still don't know if we have a player that will fill the void left by Hooper's departure.

Agree0 Disagree0

Realy don't see the point in signing anybody on a free if they can't play in Europe, the squad we have should walk the SPL backed up by youth, perfect chance to blood the youth. If we ain't gony bother ditch lennoxtown there's no need for it.

"Wait and trust the board "somebody is having a laugh or has PL been posting on here too?? this is the same guy that has joined the SFA and yet can't wait to take Celtic to the EPL

Agree0 Disagree1

I'd take Bang Bang back into the squad in a heartbeat. All that fluster is over with. You have to noise up at the time, of course you do, but its what's best for the club that's important. He could score against AC or Barca for us, that's how to look at it.

Agree1 Disagree0

Cheers Ed

I think judging by the size of the squad injuries could give us a major headache and although I agree with sending Irvine and Watt out on loan to gain some experience, I was hoping to see something from these Bhoys this season. I really hope Balde can step up to the mark as we have been lacking a big target man since Sutton/Hartson (Killen and Murphy tried and failed horribly). From Youtube, Pukki looks excellent, but i'm sure I could collate videos of me playing 5's and make myself look like Zinedine Zidane!

Does Bangura come back from Loan in December? If so do you think he deserves another shot? Frankly his ssn interview before the match left a lot of questions about his feelings for the hoops.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest i'd take back bang bang also. I really want to see what he can bring to the team. I don't see broony having a problem with him an di think he'd be desperate to show us what he can do (if he wants to earn a place in team OR earn a permanent move to another team)
thought in the CL game he was ok. Not great but certainly looked to cause defenders problems. @jockdj83

Agree0 Disagree1

I think Bangura will leave in January or sooner if his contract is torn up.
He has been papped out on loan twice and is clearly not in the managers plans and I don't think he feels wanted by the club.

JJ

Agree1 Disagree0

I can't see Bangura coming back to the team at all. Remember how raging Lenny was when he decides to play against us, and I think the squad would have similar feelings towards him! Personally I think he disrespected the club in a way in which he can't be reinstated. I think he's ruined his Celtic career, if his footballing talent hadn't done that already .

Ed everyone, what do u think our chances would be getting long on a pre contract?

SOS BHOY {Ed007's Note - Hopefully zero.}

Believable1 Unbelievable13

Think long would be a fantastic signing, proven scorer in championship and the EPL, international aswell.
Did he not only lose his place in team because an injury then couldn't displace lukaku.
Monkeybhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont really rate the guy tbh. Think there are better players than him. Whether they want to come to our league is a different matter, and that could have been the problem with Finnbogason.

In certain ways his career just now is a similar pattern to doyle a few years back. long as like doyle at wolves for a couple seasons has found good form at wba and is a big favourite among ireland fans also like doyle was it was a surprise he looked set for hull to footy folk here in ireland me included. However saying that if the board ever do spend 5/6m on a player I would not consider long in terms of that kind of spending
Gally

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be a great signing and has a proven track record

Agree0 Disagree0

WBA have an option for another year after this, but they are obviously trying to get a few quid before he goes into the final year. Paul

Agree0 Disagree0

Why not ed? Last season he was really good for WBA! He would be the best foward in our squad until we get to see pukki

SOS BHOY {Ed007's Note - He isn't very good, if he was that good for WBA then why were they so keen to offload him?}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take him in a heart beat. He's big strong and very powerful. I think what the team is missing is a big burly centre forward like Hartson or Sutton. I feel Stokes will poach goals like Hooper did. Can't see us buying him though. We inquired about him before he went to WBA, probably on big money. let's give Pukki & Balde all our support, remember the King of King's first game?

BadBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a decent player but not prolific. I do think he would be a good signing but not at the price quoted.

If your going to spend 5-6 million on a striker you want to be sure he will score 30 goals a season. I know there's no certs I'm life but at least buy someone with a good goalscoring record.

Doc

Agree0 Disagree0

If we ever ever get offered Shane Long on a pre-contract or for less than £5m we should snap the arm of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he's a tremnedous player. Fast as a fast thing in Fast Street and a real hunger to chase the ball.

Hail Hail
ChrisBhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Long on a free would be as much a coup as ledley if not better! Surely cl football would be interesting enough for him

SOS BHOY

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone who thinks Shane Long is not amazing needs to take a hard look at them selves, he is a brilliant striker, he scores goals, can hold it up, he's fast and he wins every header in the game, brilliant player, no chance of signing him
