Ed is it true that Dek Riorden is training with us??
CB67 {Ed007's Note - Not that I know of CB. Surely there would have been a picture? Even if he was it doesn't mean anything, O'Connor trained with us when he came back. It depends where people are staying, they will ask the nearest club, Keane is training at Spurs but there is no way he will sign for them.}

I think that the people saying that we should hold out for 10 Million for Ki are dreaming if he played in the Championship he might be worth that but the fact is he does not and to make a comparison McGeady left for 9 and a half million and he is a far better player than anybody we have now.

Believable3 Unbelievable9

James forrest is better than greedy mcgeady

Agree10 Disagree10

I'd say ki gives better all round play and due to better passing would be more appealing to clubs outside SPL-they think anyone can skin every full back in Scotland-driving up his price.

Agree0 Disagree2

Not when the full backs go for 9 million to spurs so scottish wingers cant be that bad

Agree0 Disagree2

It concerns me that Kris Commons could be off to Southampton! That would be a shame in my opinion.

Believable12 Unbelievable7

05 Jan 2012 21:18:22
I think we need to properly sign forster now as he's startin to come into his own aswell as much 2 my surprise I read 2day that tottenham are monitorin the progress of him aswell as forrest

Believable9 Unbelievable0

We have first refusal on him as part of the loan and the price is already set (£2m) so no need to part with the cash just now

Agree4 Disagree0

Although there is no NEED to part with the cash just now, it would surely be good for the boy's confidence to have his future sorted?

Has come on leaps & bounds (and catches) this season!

JD

Agree5 Disagree0

Sign him up now. get the deal done before he tells Celtic he wants to go elsewhere

All my mates that are villa fans are convinced ki is goin ther for 6million, at the present moment with wanyama on form, brown fit and kayal wud any of u think about acceptin that cus it is temptin lol

Believable4 Unbelievable16

Do you really think celtic will sell any of there best players they dont need to and if they wont ki try 12 mil not 6 how is it the english t**ts think they can get our players on the cheap we find them and they take them dont think so

Agree12 Disagree1

Ki will not go for 6m. He is worth at least 10+ if he played in the championship there would be bids of 12-15million. We shouldnt give these clubs too much respect when it comes to selling our players.

Agree8 Disagree2

Ki is the S Korean player of the year ,he has played in a World cup and numerous tournaments .Villa supposedly want him for £6mill .In the summer they paid £4.5mill for that thug Hutton and wait for it £10.8mill for N,Zogbia .NL should tell McLeish wer to go......DH

Agree5 Disagree0

In addition to Kayal, Brown and Wanyama you'd have to add Ledley to the list of top class central midfielders Celtic have. On that basis it would make sense for Celtic to sell Ki for around £8m. {Ed007's Note - Sell Ki and give McGeouch his place in the squad? Bring him on for fifteen minutes or so in games.}

Agree13 Disagree0

Ki has told his agent that he will not go to Villa .
CelticMatt

Agree3 Disagree2

Let Ki go for 6m, we'll never get that for him again and the midfield is packed anyway. I agree with letting the young lads through as well. This is the time to let them in when they'll learn from much better players week in week out, not throwing them in when things are going pear shaped.

Agree0 Disagree4

Don't get me wrong I would sell Ki but only at the right price my point being not to get ripped off by so called big English clubs I also stated last night on a post that Joe Ledley wouldn't be out my team......DH

Agree6 Disagree1

^^^ I agree with this, Ledley would be the first name on my team sheet every week.

JD

Agree5 Disagree2

Ki was quoted recently as saying that he will not leave Celtic before he has won an SPL winners medal

Agree5 Disagree0

Not long to wait then!

Agree2 Disagree0

If we had to lose one midfielder lets face it I am pretty certain 99% of true tims would choose Ki. Compared to the rest of our magic midfielders he's the worst. But still even saying that just shows how spoilt we are in that department, he's walk into the "Shames" Midfield in a minute!! And ol Eck down at Villa certainly needs some help cos he's in real trouble down there. I think he's got to point now where he's a bit out of his league, and as far as i've heard Petrov has had enough he's been there best player for years!!
CB67

Agree1 Disagree2

The fact is Celtic are not in a position of needing to sell. Most of our players (forrest, kayal, wanyama, ki, hooper etc) are all young and havent reached their peaks yet. Why sell now when in two years going into a wc you could demand double that? Keep this group together and they could be something special!

Junglebhoy33

Agree4 Disagree0

I'm amazed at the amount of fans on here who would get rid of Ki! He is a fantastic footballer. Great passer, not shy of a tackle, can put the ball in the net and still only in his early 20's.
Out of all the midfielders we have, Scott Brown should be first out the door in my opinion. He's not a bad player but he is the weakest midfielder in the squad.

Agree9 Disagree0

We are talking about interest in Ki from Villa, that is how this debate started. No-one is interested in Brown.

derek riordan arriving at lennoxtown tomorrow morning , no fee involved as he doesnt have a club at the moment. lenny apparently always rated him and is preparing to give him another chance at the hoops

Believable7 Unbelievable11

I would turn Lennoxtown into a Disco so he couldn't get in......DH {Ed007's Note - LMAO Good one!}

Agree9 Disagree1

05 Jan 2012 18:43:56
Not really a rumour but I would speculate that Lenny will be quite content if nobody arrives (or leaves) in this window. We have the players in place to win 3 domestic trophies and all the best business is usually done in the summer anyway. C'mon the hoops.

Believable10 Unbelievable12

Who wrote this post? the celtic board!

Agree9 Disagree3

I totally agree with the first poster. I reckon that if the transfer window comes and goes without any major ins and outs for either clubs Celtic will be victorious come the end of the season. Not like in previous seasons were signings in certain positions have seemed vital in order to win the league. We have the squad this time to see it through till the end.

Jaiza

Agree5 Disagree6

We signed Lustig and Rasmussen came back. Still think a quality Central Defender would be much needed before end of the season

Agree4 Disagree1

Fair point in the short term but if the option arose to take a quality CB then surely we've gotta entertain it?

Hey Ed, do you reckon we should tap Rio? Surely with Utd on the slide he'd give it some thought no? Soz mate cheap shot, my secret allegiance to the Gunners slips out every now and again.

Shaunybhoy {Ed007's Note - Rio is nowhere near the player he was. I think I hear the MLS calling him in the summer.}

Agree2 Disagree1

Fully agree on the MLS Ed, link up with Becks, bit of TV/modelling, wind down on a decent pension lol.

Seen a bloke called Hooiveld playing for Southampton a few times this year and he looks half decent, apparently all the Championship sides would beat us silly in our pub league and Saints are top, he must be worth a look. Oh wait, hang on, no that can't be right he's ours?

Shaunybhoy {Ed007's Note - He isn't ours now, he signed for Southampton outright last month.}

Agree3 Disagree0

Sorry Ed, meant 'he was ours' and Lenny may have been hasty there, dunno just looked more settled the more he played for Saints...that blew up in my face eh lol.

Note to self, learn to read before hitting send.

Shaunybhoy {Ed007's Note - LOL. We got a good bit over £1 million for him so it's all good.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Alright, anyone think Ricardo fuller is Stoke city would be a good loan deal for us, he is about 5 th choice striker????

Believable6 Unbelievable16

Are you serious? To do what, run about aimlessly? We've got Samaras for that.

If he can't get in the horrible Stoke team why the hell would we want him, well past his sell by date imo.

Aim higher mate, we are Celtic.

Shaunybhoy

Agree9 Disagree2

Have you seen Hooper we need, Stokes and Samaras recently. They have looked razor sharp and they all add something differtent. Then we have Bangura in reserve.

What do you think Fuller could add?

DazzaBhoy

Agree3 Disagree2

I think thats a good shout he would add a presence in those games where things are not goin to plan, Bangura i admit has to be given more time but he is seriously taking his time and a loan signing would be perfect or tbh rasmussen would be all the back-up we need but just dont see lennon playing him, dont know why? Any idea Ed why he does not get a game, sure before his injury at the german club he was loaned out to he was thier top goal scorer, there must be training or personal issues imo {Ed007's Note -TBH I am not 100% sure what is wrong with Rasmussen so I don't really want to speculate. He was supposedly a bit of a party animal when he first came over but I thought he had calmed it down.}

john sutton has been told he can leave hearts as they need to cut wages he is exactly what celtic want get in there now lenny!!!!!!!!

Believable13 Unbelievable13

Wadda ya think Ed? {Ed007's Note - No thanks.}

Agree8 Disagree3

Never in a million years Celtic class. He's not even Hearts class. Next please .......

Gary

Agree7 Disagree4

Think he could do a job in the spl strong decent in the air i would prefer him to daly given the choice of the two

Agree4 Disagree5

Like him a lot good in the air and works hard.baba aint gonna happen at 6 mill. think nearer home.

Agree2 Disagree3

What alot of crap, daily is much better than john sutton

Agree3 Disagree1

Would Sutton accentuate the squad? I don't think he would add anything, his brother he aint!

DazzaBhoy

Agree4 Disagree1

Sutton hasn't really proved anything at Hearts thus far. Little or no match time and scoring 2 goals isn't what we need.
Daly from Utd would be a better option IMHO if we are looking to buy domestically. He's exactly what we need physically and has 11 goals so far this season he proved he can score.

While we are talking about domestic targets we could also look at El Alagui of Falkirk. He's scored 20 goals so far this season (2 against THEM) and has shown he can cope with life in wet and windy Scotchland. Would be little or no risk as would cost buttons.

should celtic go back in for erik huseklepp he isn't doin well in the championship bt thats really pompeys fault cause they haven;t got much of a team Ed? {Ed007's Note - I wouldn't think so, or really fancy it either.}

Believable2 Unbelievable10

That's a fantastic idea, let's go back in for the guy who has snubbed us twice. Once for a relegation battle in Italy and then a championship side on the verge of collapse. And he's been p**h for both of them Get a grip !!

I seen The Evening Times are reporting this:-

CELTIC’S hopes of landing Baba Diawara have hit a major obstacle – £6million high

Mrs E

Believable7 Unbelievable3

A thought we had first refusal at the 4m that was agreed in august for him? mcdab {Ed007's Note - I don't think the fee was part of the agreement. There was nothing in writing.}

Agree5 Disagree1

Time to walk away

Agree5 Disagree0

Hi Ed. First time on the site. It's great stuff! Just wondered if you knew the correct reason as to why there has been so much talk of Commons leaving. Know he has been injured and maybe his form has dipped, but don't feel as though he has had a chance. Very important player for us last year aswell! also, any word on any of our 'dead wood' leaving during this window? {Ed007's Note - Welcome to the site. There are that many stories and rumours it's hard to know what is going on with Commons. As for players leaving I would think at least a couple will move on, either permanently or on loan, there is a good chance McCourt will leave.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Got to say i'm a bit disappointed about this, now we're going to be 'linked' to all these loan stars & Fran Sandaza, John Sutton etc - Mrs E

Agree2 Disagree0

stick 10m+ price tag on all our key players to keep the interested clubs away! ; sign Rafik Halliche - big dan aint fast either so why not & go for jordan rhodes or diawara?

Believable11 Unbelievable2

10 Million lmao only 1 drecent player Hooper the rest look good in a p**h league get a grip

Agree1 Disagree10

Aye right mate - Just Hooper, typical arrogance about the league... you seen forrest, or Kayal or Ledley or Wanyama? b*wbag.....

Agree7 Disagree0

05 Jan 2012 13:42:28
have to agree with the post above me, ki is a young lad and is gettin stronger all the time, remember when he first joined he was s**t scared of goin for a 50/50, now he goes through anybody without a thought...and his range of passing is prob the best we have in the team. and on top of all that the commercial side of ki in asia has to be of benefit to the hoops.

Believable13 Unbelievable2

That was meant to be a reply to the post about ki....sorry lads {Ed007's Note - I wasn't sure about it, no worries.}

Agree0 Disagree2

He gives possession away to easy and rarely tracks back i would sell him to slow

Agree1 Disagree7

Ki still pulls out of tackles and much of his rights in the Asia market are not owned by Celtic.

Agree3 Disagree6

I like Ki but if i'm honest i much prefer Kayal and Wanyama in the middle of the park

Gary

Agree4 Disagree2

I could'nt agree more with the guys who comment on ki being down the pecking order,I think he may be the most naturally gifted midfield player we have but any celtic fan that thinks he's someone who has a substantial influence on our results is just thinking with their heart, everybody loves a player of his style,poised and balanced and technical but his impact against rangers and in away games is non existent, I think this is a lot to do with his age but more to do with him not being suited to the s.p.l, he's very slow, I will make a comparison here which I think is deadly accurate niko kranjcar at spurs, what a lovely footballer with great ability , I'm sure the spurs fans will love him but he just does not have the pace or most importantly the fight . I actually can't remember a game which joe ledley has played in CM and not scored, Anyway , my point is that every celtic fan likes ki and loves seeing those technical strikes and wants him to do better and if they really look at it honestly, would we miss him? I think NOT

Agree5 Disagree4

05 Jan 2012 13:35:29
Hay ed. When do you think Lenny will make his move for the players he wants? I spend the whole day of the last transfer window day waiting for something to happen and only thing we got was El Kadouri lol. Anyway I enjoy the Craic. Bigirishmac {Ed007's Note - Transfers can be long drawn out affairs BIM, it just depends when negotiations come to a conclusion. It will be down to other clubs, Lawwell and agents now I would imagine. Remember we have already signed a player in Lustig.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

05 Jan 2012 12:32:08
If big bids come in for some of our players then we have to be realistic. Look at the players we bought after selling Aiden! The one thing I think makes sense though is that if we sell someone to generate 6/7 mill then the manager has to be allowed that money to spend. Also don't sell someone like forrest who we can't replace within our squad. Sell someone like ki who can't get a game at the moment and will have less chance when kayal is fit. We would miss forrest, we wouldn't notice ki had gone. And his place we could problably afford Rhodes and a quality CB. Markiebhoy.

Believable10 Unbelievable5

Daves 1 of our best players he could play in any league remember he's only 22 his range of passing is second to none, brillant player

Agree5 Disagree4

"Dave isn't one of our best players. Ledley,Kayal,Brown and Wanyama are all ahead of him for CM spots which is why brown has been put into the RM position. He's contributed nothing for a few months now, has lacked in decision making and lacks enthusiasm. The original poster I agree with.

Chad

Agree6 Disagree2

I never once said I didn't rate ki. His range of passing is problably better than anyone else I agree. But more often than not while playing in spl you are involved in a dog fight before you are allowed to play any football, ki is then posted missing. He's a luxury player that would be good for us in Europe when playing a 5 man midfield, but that's not a good enough reason to keep him. And my main point is we wouldn't miss him, we will mostly play with 2 in center mid, and kayal, Wanyamma, and brown are all ahead of him in the managers eyes. My point is we are so strong in this area and the money would be better spent on a center back and striker. Markiebhoy

Agree6 Disagree0

When u put it like that i see where ur coming from, but players come in and out of form all season so i wouildnt say hes a luxury as such. we dont really have to sell anybody at the moment, i think anyway....come the summer window we will have all the loan players back, who...should get punted which will free up a fair bit of cash......if celtic were to sell ki or any of the other top players, i think the money should be re-invested in a experienced creative midfeilder and and a proven CH.

Agree2 Disagree0

Who is dave? {Ed007's Note - It's Ki's nickname.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Rodney trotter lol {Ed007's Note - It was actually the English name he used when he was in Australia, well David, and it has kind of stuck.}

Agree1 Disagree1

Id get rid of forrest in a heartbeat. He is too greedy with ball and doesnt look where he is passing. Teams will soon catch.

Agree1 Disagree8

To the above un-named poster regarding Forrest... the 20yrs old has more than pulled us out a hole this season & think we should make sure we keep him. He's a crackin wee winger ! - Mrs E

Agree4 Disagree0

Get real !the young forrest is a breath of fresh air an will only get better ..derbycelt

Agree3 Disagree0

Wit? u havin a laugh? if someone wants tae buy forrest then let him go! he cant pass the baw, thinks hes a cross between maradona and pele. his arrogance was clear to see when we last played ross county. could of played on a good few players who were in better positions to score, but decided to do mazy s**tty runs that amounted tae nothing! breath of fresh air? he will be the next brian mclaughlin, mark burchill etc etc. mrs E u dont have a clue

Clyde 1 superscore board last night, hugh keevins admitted to seeing derek riordans agent at CP yesterday and asked "who he was flogging?" forgetting who he was...

Riordan has no club this now and NL is a fan of him. What do you think ED? could he do a turn? Cant go wrong if hes a free transfer, even if its just till end of season?

Paulo {Ed007's Note - Jim McArthur doesn't just represent Riordan.}

Believable5 Unbelievable5

He comes with too much baggage, a leopard can't change it's spots.
Probably why Gary O'Connor didn't get a deal at paradise.

Dean Sheils is one of his players, as is a couple of Celtic players. {Ed007's Note - What CFC players?}

Just been text'd by a friend based down on the south coast of England that Commons is on his way to Southampton in a permanent move.

Not really anything new there as this has been banded about for a while, but the interesting part that he told me was that Commons is going as part of a cash plus player deal for Rickie Lambert!

Sounds like a great deal but would doubt Southampton would let their top scorer go at this stage but just thought I'd pass it on.
Ed007 you heard anything about this?
HH
/BB {Ed007's Note - There is a chance Commons could go to Southampton, there are a few Championship teams sniffing around but nothing concrete as such that I know of. I doubt that Lambert would be part of any deal, seriously doubt it.}

anybody else think that kris commons form drop is due to izzie's injury they played really well together and commons did say himself how connected they were on the pitch maybe the stand in left back aren't good enough to keep him in form {Ed007's Note - No.}

Believable6 Unbelievable13

So its upto ledley or whoever slots into left back to keep commons form up? Seriously gony ask yourself that question in your head and get back to us with your answer am sure others as well as myself will be intrigued to see your answer.

templeton and Rhodes we could have any way we are not the tax dodgers we can afford players and pay them a good wage so forget getting rid of any of are first team we will be getting rid of like 10 of the fringe players we have on loan and there is your 10 mil for new players

CELTIC FC FIRST TEAM
NOT FOR SALE (unless stupid money)

Believable23 Unbelievable3

Big sign out Celtic park English clubs and fans do u wana know what it says NOT FOR SALE if u want cheap and nasty there is a little place just across the city where u will see another sign that reads EVERY THING MUST GO that includes players ,the ground and tbh most of there so called fans lol oh and a trophy room that pays a thank you to all the refs that made it possible

Oh btw I know this is a Celtic site rangers mite have a new owner all we know is his nick name MAD VLAD lol hail hail

Agree7 Disagree4

Posted earlier forrest to spurs..I'm a season ticket n die hard Celtic but some Celtic fans need to be realistic, Celtic are always going sell players to pl coz of tv £ simple If any1 offers big money for an 18 yr old u take it n re invest there's plenty of youth coming thru just look wat happened to boruc, loss if form etc and injuries especially for winger can devalue sell while some1 is interested for crazy money put sell on clause and can whoever wrote get rid if fringe players for 10 million your dreaming couldn't give our reserves away too many sitting getting paid for nothing.BTW hail hail

Agree3 Disagree3

Might be RFC is a selling club but also a winning club who is going for 4 in a row. GLASGOW RANGERS

Agree6 Disagree14

Haha 4 in a row BS we won 3 in a row wile rangers where a strong team u lot won 3 in a row wile we rebuilt so shhh

Agree9 Disagree4

4 in a row of court loses?

Agree10 Disagree2

How ill educated are Celtic fans? Celtic won 3 in a row when Rangers were a strong team? haha WTF? Celtic won 3 in a row at the end of an Alex McLeish era, a year of Paul Le Guen the biggest flop in Rangers' history then their 3rd title came when Rangers were chasing 4 trophies and got no help from anyone about 4 games in a week. {Ed007's Note - We had Tony Mowbray.}

Away and haunt another site, you bitter wee man/woman. Who do you think you are ? 3 in a row blah blah blah. Spent more than you could afford using money that did not belong to you. You lot make me puke!

Was wondering if there is any truth to any of the rumours about forrest going to spurs? 8-11 million... if there is is bite there hand off for it and strengthen def and attack. Diawara n Rhodes probs 8 million for both one is proven goalscorer and other is looking promising. then get templeton as forrest replacement n zaliukas as def cover job done treble in bag.

Believable4 Unbelievable12

I really don't think Zaliukas is any better that what we have ... will be interesting to see if the Hearts players get all their wages & what sanctions will be imposed if they don't. Mrs E

Agree8 Disagree1

Diawara is going to a Chinese club who is offering better wages to be in the value of £60000 a week

Agree4 Disagree6

Forrest should not be allowed to go for any price. I'd hate to see another Liam Miller scenario, leaving for big money then warning the bench at a big club and then of course leaving for a smaller club than he originally left.

Money talks though.
