God Bless Paul McBride QC. Forever in our hearts from the whole Celtic family. Rest In Peace big man

Believable23 Unbelievable5

R.I.P Paul, maybe in death he will be proven right that the SFA organisation was in fact "dysfunctional, dishonest and biased" over its handling of Old Firm disciplinary cases.

Hi, Ed, As a Celtic fan living on theCosta Del Sol I have a few things to get off my chest I have been following the recent developments at Ibrox.first ,these developments are of none elses doing but RANGERS and I am fed up with people rangers minded or not,in the media or notbeing DEFIANT, who are they bejng defiant to HMRC, THE the rest of Scottish football or just the ones they owe money to.If what we are led to believe a lot more problems are about to surface if I were Ally Mcoist I would be a bit more humble assome of the as some of the things he has been saying might please the knuckle draggers but they may come back to haunt him.And as for Hately if Motherwell take second place is he going to say to his son sorry Tom but your runners up medal is tainted ps RIP PAUL MCBRIDE

Heard today that Mr Lawell is all over this registration and inquiry like a rash.Powder being kept dry until certain things are made public,then i suspect he will be like a rottweiler with a bone.It seems that some of the things the police found are very volatile indeed!Lots of people are gonna have to answer some hard questions.Source? inside parkhead. It's hitting the fan bhoys(and of course Mrs E!)..........green jhedi

Believable12 Unbelievable5

What he might put his name tae something coming oot of parkheid don't hauld yer breath unless he has been on the brave pills. Story is also mince inside parkheid then it must be true

Agree0 Disagree0

I was feeling sorry for Ally during all this but today he comes out with comments about kicking rangers when they're down as if they are some kind of victim and have had a stroke of bad luck. Masters of their own downfall and he's making a 'thinly veiled attack' on Celtic as if they are just being plain cruel to his 'wounded' club. He's slowly losing my sympathy. Mrs E

Agree0 Disagree0

Green Jhedi - in terms of the information that the administrators have passed to the police, does this include both details of these registrations and also of Whyte's takeover. Is there any other matters the police are investigating.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think Rangers fans want or need your sympathy. Ally made his comments and the paranoid masses can interpret as they like. He at least didn't wash his laundry in public unlike others who consistently do so. If I had to choose I would have him whisper in Lennons ear at the end of the Old Firm match and see what happens. {Ed007's Note - Well they have been on here all week looking for sympathy and banging on about people losing jobs etc.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Wiznae me Ed I was on bantering last week.... {Ed007's Note - I believe you.}

Agree0 Disagree0

No wonder you didn't leave a name..the dirty laundry (your words not mine) is in the news every day ! Mrs E

Cheers Ed I enjoy a bit ah banter with ma Celtic mates on line and at work. Sad news about Mr McBride my thought are with his family godbless.

Can see fifa or uefa telling the spl to treat Rangers the way fc sion were treated. take every point off them for each time a dodgy player played. time to get this corrupt team out of our league. they are a disgrace

Agree0 Disagree0

If there found guilty of breach of the rules,not only should they be stripped of hounors but also the money that comes with it,should be paid back if not they can only be kicked out of scottish football with absolutely no way back.

Ed - if the administrators agree a deal with an investor to purchase Rangers, and that deal takes them out of administration, how does this effect Whye's 85% shareholding. Can the administrators simply dismiss his 85% shareholding and transfer it to the new investors or can he maintain his stance that he owns 85% of the club and as such will not let any other party take over Rangers. {Ed007's Note - He will still own 85%.}

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Ed - So Whyte could block any takeover? {Ed007's Note - As things stand, part of any take over would be him receiving money for his shares.}

Agree0 Disagree0

That's good news. Given the nature of business deals Whyte undertakes, he will want several million to walk away.

This alongwith the known debt, the likliehood that HMRC will win the big tax case, Whyte's floating charge over Rangers, and payment of future season book sales to Ticketus, no Europe next season, make it increasingly likely that any investor will want the club to go into liquidation and start up a newco.

If Rangers players contracts are not paid in full they become creditors
If Rangers can get 75% of their creditors to accept a CVA the other 25% must accept by law
Radundant employees can then be re-employed providing they agree to pay back a % of redundancy payment

can anybody else smell a rat "need to find a MILLION a month " for what 35 players and have only 5 players on 20k a week ??

Believable1 Unbelievable1

The 1m they need to save each month seems to be the same 1m they are racking up each month in new HMRC fines and penalties etc for their unpaid tax bill but I could be wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

Redundant players cannot be re-employed. They cannot sign anyone whilst in administration.

Agree0 Disagree0

They wont be in administration if they force through the CVA new buyer will come in and clear it if its only 4p -25pin the pound

agree with keevins statue of fergus at celtic park bunnet and all he must be grinning like a cheshire cat at the manky mob

Believable10 Unbelievable2

McCann was without doubt a Celtic hero and visionary.

When looking at the building of a new stadium, Fergus wanted an all seater stadium. This was at a time when Celtic had only 7,000 season ticket holders, and the average crowd was in the low 20,000s. He was advised by those around him that the people who went to Parkhead on a Saturday had alreday been surveyed and didn't want an all seater stadium.

McCann's response was "What about those who don't go to Parkehead on a Saturday, what do they want".

The Bunnett built his all seater stadium and ended up with 52,000 season ticket holders.

Hail Hail Fergus.

Today is the 18th anniversary of the Celtic supporters/ Fergus McCann takeover. Salute to thousands of fans & to Fergus for walking the walk .When our Club was in trouble tens of thousands of fans rose up. Today our strength made us stronger & more powerful. We only walk forward.

Thank Goodness Mr Fergus McCann is getting a more favourable response from the fans these days. I have a very good memory and I well remember when the league flag was unfurled and Mr McCann got pelters from the fans, at least half the stadium was booing. I was angry and embarrassed at the time and it is one of the most unsavoury moments I have had to endure as a Celtic man. We should not forget we Celtic fans are not angels all the time and that history and events should be recorded accurately. Sopot Celt

I was at that game.felt ashamed to be a celtic supporter,instead of seeing what fergus acheived ,they were brainwashed,by the media,talking about how much money he was leaving with.he only sold his shares. T.H.

The most annoying this about all of this is i now wake up and read the spurts of infected print splooge that the bellend of the DR puddles on its sports pages. Apologies for the overlong metaphor but cum on!! More nonsense and rubbish, three things:
1) Sally now saying people are putting the boot in and hes going to get them when he rises
2) The SPL are baddies and are trying to sanction any new co formed of Rangers, naughty bad people
3) Some rubbish about andy gray, couldnt bring myself to drink anymore.
Grrrrrr arrrrrrrr, can anyone recommend a decent read out there?
Nevis

Believable3 Unbelievable2

The Sunday Post Nevis...you get great wee tips etc :-)

I'm fed up with it as well, reading the paper was part of my routine in the morning before going to work. Now rangers tripe in on front & back pages..when we win the league it had better be on the front, back & a middle page spread ! Mrs E

Big rumour tonight that next weeks revelations are gonna be huge.Word is the rangers "big three's" contracts are held by whyte's company and the rest of the first team squad are off,even laughatme.naismith safe just now but will sell when fit.they are supposed to be trying to hold out till the end of the season before liquidation as that means a newco would get into the SPL.ed007 your clued up.that sound right to you?.....green jhedi {Ed007's Note - Sounds about right from what I am hearing.}

Believable9 Unbelievable2

In a strange quirk the same rules don't apply during the close season. basically if they liquidate mid season their record is expunged and there will be no team relegated, and promotion as normal from the league below. However if they liquidate in the close season as relegation has already occurred (probably dunfermline), they could apply to the SPL board for the share and therefore the available place. If the administrators can hold out till then it will allow greater opportunities for those interested in a newco

Agree0 Disagree0

Morning ed read down the page Rangers might get docked 50pts if this happens and they end up getting relegated which is a strong possibility,and then liquidated would the newco have to start in the 1st Div.(would just like to know the scenarios)cheers mate.MACCA {Ed007's Note - Any 'newco' would be allowed to apply for SPL membership MACCA.}
