At Celtic football club players are judged by their football ability only who cares about his off field antics {Ed007's Note - You obviously know absolutely nothing about the club then. The police/courts/prison service and every other club he has played for seem to think it is a smidging important, but obviously your superior knowledge of the situation surpasses all of them and we bow to your wisdom.}
Agree0

I dont for one minute expect this to be seen on your site but your manager who is seen as some sort of hero and angel once spat on a rangers scarf and shouted a phrase that would be described as sectarian bile in front of cameras its on you tube.So dont get all moral highground about anybody ya mugJMGERS {Ed007's Note - Mug? Who kicked your kennel?}
Agree0

Sorry ed talking about the op not yourself what bartons done is in the past and if he was signing for celtic many people like the guy calling him a scumbag would tell you what a player he will be JMGERS {Ed007's Note - Oh, sorry mate, I was a bit surprised by that from you. You have my apologises JMGERS.}

It comes down to this with joey Barton 1st can celtic afford him?2nd Is this team about a simple game of football?3rd Or are we all so screwed up about what people think of a football club?4th Why do we think celtic will lose the moral high ground? I think if he plays his football on the park and does, nt loss the plot there he, s doing what it says on the tin after that if he does anything contreversial off the park thats surely down to him and he becomes accountable to those whom he wrongs, Grow up thelot of you

Can we all stop talking about signing joey Barton plz The guy is a good footballer but even the disillusioned Celtic supporters should realise he is the lowest of the low He also woudnt fit into the team and improve it, even if broony kayal ki and ledly were sold the guy should b kept away from paradise with a jaggy stick Rankers can have him

Listen guys Us signing Joey Barton would be similar to the berz signing El Tadge Diouf. It will galvanise the teddies. Get him to F*** He is an accident waiting to happen and will end up getting into big difficulty in Glasgow It aint going to happen. Goal keeper is the priority as well as shifting some of the dead wood, murphy, towell, rasmussen etc.
Bankie Bhoy {Ed007's Note - Thank you Bankie!!! At last someone taking a bit of pride in our club. I posted a link to an article and still people want to sign him?? There is only so much I can say for legal reasons but he is not a fit human being to wear the jersey of CFC (or Rangers for that matter). Have a read mate:

Believable11
Unbelievable2
One thing not in doubt is that he is a very talented player. but far too much baggage comes with him. lets say he does sign betting is that he has a great start to the season then 6 months down the line gets disgruntled then upsets the dressing room or is in the news again for being a thug (he wouldnae get away wae it in glasgow) too much of a high risk. and not too mention high wage demands no doubt.
Agree0
Disagree0
Any manager that even considers a move for barton would be off their rocker, hes nothing more than a thug always has been always will be, probably end up at hearts wae mad vlad. {Ed007's Note - Where were you all yesterday when I needed this? HH}
Agree0
Disagree0
Chat from EPL is that Barton would cost at least £10m. Why would Celts sell a good player to get someone who would almost be guaranteed to get into bother in Glasgow? I agree with you Ed {Ed007's Note - Thanks}
Agree0
Disagree0
Ed007 - well said after reading your link I can understand why teams will be reluctant to rake him even on a free - keep up the good work {Ed007's Note - Thanks again, I give my opinion but I like to know what I am talking about first.}

Good evening all,
Joey Barton what a Laff that guy is, unsettlies changing rooms and rocks the boat big style, he isn't worthy of wearing a Celtic strip I wouldn't even sell him a Celtic top don't want him to shame it,
As a famous man once said "Celtic jerseys are not for second best, They don't shrink to fit inferior players", the is a saying so true and if this clown wore it he would never fit in one.
To many greats like stein, jinky, larsson, oneil and Lennon have made this club the way it is, a strong and faithful support who care about there team n history, I wouldn't let him near the gates of paradise.
Hail Hail

Hail Hail
Cumby Bhoy {Ed007's Note - Aberdeen is a great day out, one thing though, DO NOT ever go using Citylink buses. I done it once years ago when I was younger and it was a nightmare!! The day Big Stubbsy made his debut and then got sent off lol}

Hello ED, I actually think Barton would be a great signing, what he did in the past is behind him, he is a quality player, I think he deserves an england call up also, Anyway apparently he's at Celtic Park, he's been there since 5:30, don't know if I believe it but Lennon said yesterday when he was in wales that he would have to mortgage the club to finance the transfer, seems like an odd statement to make. If he comes it's only going to get better...:) Hail Hail. {Ed007's Note - Look, for the last time, when is this "past"? It is his past, present and future that have caused and continue to cause him ALL of his problems. He is a disgrace and should never be near CFC or any other club for that matter. I would actually like to know where these stories originate from. He was training with Newcastle today and any meeting would have taken place at Lennoxtown I would imagine (most players know Celtic Park so they would want to see the rest of the facilities, where they will spend the majority of their time). In this day and age there is not one picture of him in Glasgow to back up this pathetic story. The sooner he signs for someone else the better for everyone in football except for the club that is unfortunate enough to sign him.}

I was thinking that this might be a solution to the goalkeeping problem why not try to sihn neil Alexander from rangers on loan ?
rumour has it they were actually thinking of letting him go to get 1st team football elsewhere
plus he is a decent keeper. {Ed007's Note - Did you mean to send that? He'll get plenty of 1st team football when Rangers sell McGregor I'm sure :-) wait for the reaction to this one!}

Alexander? Stop talking garbage you tool
but anyway in my opinion we should sign that polish keeper seen him on you tube ( i know you tube makes folks look great etc. ) plus i honestly think our cb's are good enough id play rogne with wilson , get rid of some dead wood ( we all know what players i mean ) and with the money raised meet bari's estimation for eric huseklepp then we would be sorted what you think ed ? {Ed007's Note - I'd be happy with that, Rogne or Mulgrew with Wilson. People forget Rogne is still young and learning his trade.}
Agree0

I think at some parts last season rogne looked solid i think in a few years hell be a solid cb
ed how do you get a user name ? do i just think of 1 and put it on the end of my post or do you need to sign up ? {Ed007's Note - Just think of one and put it at the bottom of your post, there is no sign up. One thing though, if you put a "tag" in the e-mail field, (it doesn't need to be your e-mail) only us editors see it and it confirms with your "handle" that it is actually you. It would surprise you how many people try to stir thing by borrowing names.}
Agree0
Disagree0
Rangers are in for cammy Bell and I think it would be a viable solution for celtic to get alexander but due to the response Id have to say that the majority of you are narrow minded and closed to anything that might benefit your club which then leads on to the big iissue of changes in the relationship between boths clubs and supporters if you cant accept something simple like this what is everyone on the outside of the goldfish bowl going to think
they will say its your fault that we cant find a way to resolve this problem between the clubs and how can anyone move on with each group of fans filled with the wrong attitude towards each other in the face of a serious problem c, mon at least try to see it in a better way..Is christianity not becoming universal or is this just a tribal thing? {Ed007's Note - Can you imagine Reina signing for Man Utd? Don't try to make it out to be something it is not, it is footballing rivalry, if he isn't good enough to be Rangers No.1 then he isn't good enough to be CFCs. Who mentioned anything about religion apart from you?}

Anyone else think the europa league should be knockout all the way. For us or the shame to get to the final would take 17 games. That's like had a season's games extra. Considering the teams in the tournament haven't usually got the biggest squads, it just strains them. Most teams aren't too fussed until the knockouts anyway.
Ben Bhoy 1916

All european games should be knockout, it's more exciting that way. the old eauropean cup/uefa cup/cup winners cup were better when in a hat. also, all league winners should be straight in to the CL, no qualifying. the runners up etc that uefa insist on putting in should have to qualify, but then again uefa only care for a few leagues

Of all the keepers we've been linked with Sandomierski has seemed most appealing to me, for several reasons, so glad we're still interested was wondering why we'd apparently agreed a deal to bring him on trial yet it never happened. Hopefully this trial will prove successful.
Some of you will be glad to hear that the word here in Newcastle is that talks between Celtic and Barton's representatives went well but he's waiting to hear from big premier league teams or Everton. {Ed007's Note - Why would we be glad about any talks with him, seems to be it is only some CFC fans that want him to sign. I have no idea where it started from but I doubt (and hope) he will ever be at CFC as a player.}

Agree0

Cheers ed. when is his trial due to start mate .
hail hail
Marco1888 {Ed007's Note - I am not 100% sure yet, he has been scouted by Stevie Woods already so I think the "trial" is partly from both sides to see how Sandomierski is going to settle. He is only 21 so it is a big step for him to take. The same situation happened with David de Gea going to Man Utd, clubs don't want to take on a young player (especially a GK) if he isn't going to settle. GKs need to be focused on their football without becoming homesick, going down the wrong road in their personal life, or worse suffering "stage fright" and losing all confidence. He has already been over at Everton but they are struggling badly financially which looks like putting an end to their interest unless they sell someone.}
Agree0
Disagree0
Sandomierski won't b coming in on trial, with chelsea, arsenal and a few other epl teams interested, he feels he has nothin to prove being a full international For god sake Celtic spend some money and buy a tried and tested goalie and stop playin with trialists and loans Big Bad John {Ed007's Note - So why was he at Everton on "trial"?}
Agree0
Disagree0
True Ed but IMO I don't think he'll come on trial, the more trials he goes on and no deals offered the less his stock will rise Hopefully I'm wrong. Big Bad John {Ed007's Note - Like I said though, his age etc comes into the equation. Stevie Woods has watched him and it is more of seeing if the player is comfortable with the move and will be able to settle into a whole new way of life. Like Petiklosa, it isn't a question of ability, it is other factors.}

I think we should bring in Grzegorz Sandomierski as quickly as possible, as the goalkeeping situation has to be sorted top priority. Without a good keeper behind the back four I can't see us making any impact on europe, i think the league is gonna be easier to win than previous seasons anyway, thanks ally, but europe is a must this season. As for the striker situation, I don't think its as urgent a call but another striker would be ideal.
Believable19
Unbelievable4
I agree about the goalkeeper and that we need a striker but it cud defo wait til the end of the month and see who hasnt made the 25 man squads in England. Dont think the league will be as easy as sum folk are making out. Fully expect Rangers to make 3 or 4 signings by the end of the month.

Although uz have kept ur main players uz do need to strenghten. Although that team has served uz well its on its last legs. I said 3 or 4 b4 but i think ill change that to 5 or 6. Dont think either of the old firm will ever win the league at a canter again.

Decent player, will likely do well for Leeds. Worth noting he can also do a pretty good job at left-back.
I reckon he could've been a lot better than he actually is. Never really been given the chance in recent seasons, other than the odd game under Mowbray where the entire team were in disarray so it's difficult to judge.
We'll likely end up losing the guy on a free but I think he'll be a regular or at the very least a "get's a game" international once he hits his late 20s.

Not a rumour jst a thought If defoe is wanting out of spurs if not guaranteed football do you think we could get him on loan and would you want him Would have him in a minute in my opinion {Ed007's Note - His wages would be too much and none of us Eds actually rate him, his goalscoring record isn't the best.}

I personally think Defoe is the most natural English goalscorer at the moment but for some reason his face doesn't fit at Spurs. I'd have him at Celtic in a shot but i don't think he'd want to go to the SPL nor do I think we can afford his wages unless subsidised by Spurs. {Ed007's Note - He has scored 37 goals in the last 3 seasons, and has scored 20+ goals a season twice in his career, hardly prolific.}

37 goals in last 3 seasons where he's been in and out of the team through injury, rotation, etc. He's got a 1:3 ratio throughout his career right through to international level and has scored over 30% of his teams goals whenever he's played. Not many more natural English goalscorers about at the current time and aside from the transfer request at West Ham is hardly known for causing trouble within a squad. {Ed007's Note - He played 30 games last season and scored 9 goals. For England he has never completed 90 mins, and he has a record number of sub appearances for them (28), }

So i'd imagine his goals to minutes ratio is pretty decent suggesting that he's probably a better player than you give him credit for :) {Ed007's Note - It's Peter Crouch that does all the work and makes him look good :-)

Ally McCoist just confirmed Rangers have signed David Goodwillie, Carlos Cuellar and Joey Barton.
Unfortunately he had to turn his PSP off as they're boarding their flight out of Malmo and the champions league

I think Mulgrew showed a lot of potential in the role last season, i know ther were a few shaky games but for sum1 who has prodominantly played as a left back his whole career i always thot he showed composure on the ball, he can certainly pick a pass and he's relatively quick for a big guy. Got a feelin NL will go with Majstorovic for sunday tho.

Mulgrew is a poor player, Big Time "Charlie" who thinks he's Roberto Carlos. He's good at free kicks and that's it.

Charlie played well in that position last season...few mistakes i'll grant you.
with the exceptionof kelvin wilson who does look the part....he's the best we have. i would go with him.
