just wondering do we go straight into the group stages of the champions league or what {Ed007's Note - The winners and second place team go into the CL at the third qualifying round stage.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

I see we will be seeded for the qualifiers and miss teams from England , Spain and Italy .....DH

Agree0 Disagree0

DH...Its nothing to do with seedings. England,Spain,Italy,Germany and i think Portugal dont have teams in the Champions qualifying route as their Champions go straight into the group stages.

TF

Agree0 Disagree0

Celtic have one qualifying game and the othere team has two

Looking forward to a good day on sat but also as my wife and I are ditching the 1 year old and taking a wee trip up to Glasgow to watch the game in a pub somewhere, was thinking the merchant city, any one know of any decent pubs that will show the game and have a good atmosphere in that area? I'm a bit rusty as we usually stay local for the last 5 years or so.

Cheers

If the SNP are in talks with HMRC to "guide them" into doing a deal with rangers, it with have more repercussions than they think.
if there are EPL clubs in the same situation as rangers who are they going to run to the Tories/Lib Dems. Does anyone honestly think the politicians are going to put their neck on the line to save a football club? .
For every penny given there will be a vote lost.

Be Very Very careful Mr Salmond do a deal with the devil and disappear into the political wilderness.

The snp will lose a helluva lot of votes .. from all over the country who were coming round to independance but if he is helping that mob ,,,forget it they will go backwards and be the fourth party in scotland

Hi Ed,
Just wondering if you've any ideas who could be leaving in the summer? I've got my own ideas but just wondered who you would expect to leave?
Cheers mate
HH
pfb79 {Ed007's Note - If Southampton get to the EPL I expect them to come back in for Hooper. I also think Ki and Commons will leave if acceptable bids come in. Some EPL teams might have a nudge at Forrest but I would expect him to stay for now. Mark Wilson, Cha and Majstorovic are out of contract and I think all three of them will go along with O'Dea, McCourt and McGinn. There are also a few Championship teams interested in Kelvin Wilson.}

Believable6 Unbelievable0

I have a feeling that a few clubs will try to get Mathews on the cheap

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would cfc sell matthews on the cheap ? sounds like orc mischief.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed would I be right in saying that M Wilson, Cha, Big Dan, Loovens, O'Dea, Thompson and McGinn are all out of contract. Plus fringe players like Murphy, McCourt and Juarez I image will leave as well. So we are talking about 10+ leaving. That's a hell of alot off the wage bill. Do you think we might push the boat out and add some really quality with the extra funds? {Ed007's Note - I would think that any money removed from the wage bill will be primarily used to give players improved contracts and try to sign Forster on a long term deal. Although it will free up funds for any incoming players.}

if its true that alex salmond is in talks with HMRC regarding helping rangers they will lose my vote & i would urge every celtic supporter to do the same

Believable10 Unbelievable13

Dont tell me youve voted for this idiot before.

Agree0 Disagree0

I never vote snp we have known for years what they are... Also UEFA FIFA will go off on one and ban Scotland next world cup also can ban Scottish teams from Europe for 3 or more years..... To be honest am Celtic die hard but if they get off with hmrc then what's the point in ever watching Scottish football......think there should be a anti snp facebook setup lol

Agree0 Disagree0

I never heard this but if it's true surely a political party cannot intervene in such a case involving Her Majesty's Revenue etc?
I would have suspected that there would be some private meetings afoot involving secret (and not so secret) societies to rescue Rangers in any way possible, but it is highly contrversial to say the least for a leading politician - who represents a Nation - to meddle in such matters.
Anyway how long has this pantomime been going on? It seems to be getting dragged out in order to try and overshadow and distract our campaign.
Anyway C'Mon The Hoops on Saturday!
Let's put it to bed IN STYLE. It's overdue.

I can not understand how any Celtic fan can vote for a unionist political party, they have the same agenda as the DUP or UUP.
The unionist political system is a form of religious apartheid that discriminates against
the majority of Celtic fans!
Remember fellow tims, if there was no union anymore we would not have to fly the union jack over Celtic park. Hail hail.

Agree0 Disagree0

I want independence but if i am voting for a government who lets Tax dodging barstewards away with not paying there dues. They will lose my vote.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unionists have been dodging taxes for years,
they are called the rich!!

Agree0 Disagree0

The snp are trying to leave the union for the poster above unlike the dup and uup.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that poster really saying that snp care more about catholics and celtic fans more than labour, look yourself in the mirror

Agree0 Disagree0

Poster above.
How come the unionist labour party did nothing to redress the sectarian bias in the British parliament when they where in power!
Inequality is inequality my friend.

Can you tell me why the SPL not allowing us the league trophie vs orcs as it's the first home game...

Believable6 Unbelievable1

We should do it anyway, unofficially.

Agree0 Disagree0

The SPL have again shown that they have
an anti Celtic agenda by ignoring normal
protocol that would see Celtic being
presented with the Title Trophy at our next home game. So what if that game is
against Rangers get over it. Which club have brought shame on the game in Scotland? Certainly not Celtic. I hope Mr
Lawwell asks serious questions about this
unfair and undemocratic decision. CM

Agree0 Disagree0

Cause they are rangers men and dont want to offend the poor wee supporters frae Govan. The SPL are a disgrace.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cause there will be a riot and you'd want more of your own fans there

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely there's nothing stopping Celtic doing a lap on honour with the trophy after or before the game?

Agree0 Disagree0

What about the Celtic fans who have to give their seats up for the so called orcs arnt they not allowed to see the team be presented with the trophy

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont think their fans could control themselves.Probably try and disrupt the presentation.

Jungle Bhoy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Still not the point protocol is protocol

Agree0 Disagree0

Just another reason why we should try to get away from this league.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe its incase your own fans go wild and the stewards cant control them... and celtic cant exactly do a lap of honour before or after the game with the trophy if they havent been given it yet lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Sfa spl sucks they are paying 32000 to dundee united to cover rangers debts yet the title winners cant lift the trophy at the next home game. think its time to move to the english league and leave the sh1t to fend for themselves

Agree0 Disagree0

Every other year we play them at hampden and were allowed to receive the trophy five minutes after the game. And in those games the supporters are 50/50. The SFA and SPL are taking the p*ss, they could give us the trophy at Rugby Park, or ten minutes after the rankers game!

hi folks !
its been a wee while since i was on but i have a genuine suggestion on summer transfers!
instead of going for an untested over priced foreign player what about jon daly? top goalscorer in scotland strong good in the air great finisher and only 27 ..i think he would jump at the chance!
We have to give bangura a descent chance he is only 21 and dare i say it sell paddy ,loovens ,possibly ki and bring in hayes free transfer and dean shields! all good prospects playing welol his season...i would love johnny russell but i think stokes would have to go in his place! not sure.

what do you think bhoys?

Celtic Always
Chalky Bhoy!!

Believable7 Unbelievable9

Aye paddy not fit (or good) enough to be a regular so he should be punted along with loovens, cha, mark wilson, kelvin wilson, majstorovic

Agree0 Disagree0

Dean Shiels? you having a laugh? None of thos players you mentioned would make Celtic's bench

Agree0 Disagree0

Daly is a decent player I give you that, no worse than say Murphy. And Murphy was a big mistake. As for Dean Shields well Keatings is as good a player and he is on loan. I am all for giving Scottish boys a chance for example Russell who you mentioned and Mackail Smith i think is also woth consideration. My thoughts are we have planty talent at the club at present. So I would give the Twardzics a chance, McGeogh, Ibrahim Toshney and Keatings. From England I would take Rhodes. I really think we have enough in the tank. Consideration for a new left back and a big striker like say Big John or Chris Sutton but they dont grow on trees and cost a fortune these days.. The Norwich lad is the closest to them style wise I have seen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dean shiels is a good footballer positve going forward and has a great touch and good vision (no pun intended)jon daly has outscored everyone this season and johnny hayes direct fit tremndous left foot !

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye good shout, those really are players for a team to try to get back to making a mark on European football. we need to be looking at players with a far greater pedigree.

Jamesy Dell

Agree0 Disagree0

Craig Beattie looks a far better prospect.

Agree0 Disagree0

I understand the original point and it does make some sence but surely this summer is about trimming the squad, moving on a good few fringe players but surely then we must bring in people to improve the team ie they have to be better than what we already have and i don't think any of the names mentioned would improve the starting 11.

Much as it is a nice touch for us to go down to Norwich to play in a
testimonial game it grates on me that we are okay to play in this type of game (which will be well supported) but these clubs in reality dont want us anywhere near their precious league. CM

hi edd now with the fixtures been sorted out do you think we will get the trophy at the first home game .it just happens to be against rankers i think its only rite we get presented the trophy as soon as possible as we will be champions by then .what a day that would be hail hail keep up the gd work m8. {Ed007's Note - Thanks. No there is no way we will get the trophy on derby day, it is looking more likely at the Hearts game.}

Afternoon ED007 did you see that a freedom of information request to
SNP was turned down "as it could harm relations between Holyrood and
Westminster" what was so secret, what was so sensitive that civil war could happen between Scotland and England er Salmond and other SNP bigwigs having "secret" talks with HMRC over helping Rangers...
I LOVE an Open and Honest Government just one question, when the heck will we EVER GET ONE? Timalloy
Ps right bhoys/ghirls there is only ONE party left for us all to vote for
I give you THE GREEN PARTY!! {Ed007's Note - The Government should not be having secret discussions about any football club with HMRC. It stinks to high heaven Tim. The SNP have turned out, exactly as people knew they would, totally incompetent.}

Believable12 Unbelievable4

My vote is for the respect party , would love a few candidates up here.

Agree0 Disagree0

The establishment is alive and
kicking for the moment.hope salmond and co take a kicking at the may elections.

Agree0 Disagree0

Still waitin for salmonds comments on the
reduced charges in the Neil Lennon case.
How can people vote for this egotistical wee man?

Agree0 Disagree0

The most amazing thing is the loyalist hate his party.

Agree0 Disagree0

Here we go lets bash the SNP and Alex Salmond ,we are like sheep lets all follow Labour who were a total disaster bah bah bah {Ed007's Note - Who mentioned voting for Labour? If you think Salmond is doing a good job then sorry, you're an idiot.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi there,
Another idiot here.
How come politics is rearing its ugly head on the rumours page ?
Labour did nothing for us when they were in power. {Ed007's Note - It's on it because of the rumours in the papers about Salmond helping out Rangers with top secret talks with HMRC. D'Uh!!!!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Where did this story come from Ed ? {Ed007's Note - It was in the DR today and has gathered pace throughout the day. AS phoned HMRC regarding Rangers. What was said is 'Top Secret' as it would 'substantially prejudice relations between the two governments', but nobody will say why.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahh the DR a well known source of accurate political stories and a bastion of sound journalism! Sopot Celt

Tell me something....with our next home game being Rangers after the killie title party. Will they present us with the trophy prior to the game? And do you think the shame will be as gracious to clap or congratulare us?

DazzaBhoy {Ed007's Note - They won't present the trophy then Daz, some people are saying it will be the Hearts game.}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Just been on the news we will not be presented with the trophy after the rangers game

Agree0 Disagree0

The SPL are party poopers

Agree0 Disagree0

A sad reflection of our country, that a team can't be presented with the trophy against their rivals, I'm sure it could have been presented 20mins after the final whistle to let the away support out of the ground and clear the surrounding area then what harm would be done?. It's not as if the rangers supporters don't know we will be pressented with it at some point, IT SHOULD BE AT OUR NEXT HOME GAME SHOULD WE GET THE RESULT REQUIRED ON SAT. Why then did they not rearange the fixtures after the split to make this happen in this event typical of the powers that be. About as usefull as an ashtray on a motorbike. maccabhoy

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers have been gracious already in losing their league title when Ally McCoist shook every players hand(except Scott Brown,who refused)after the 3-2 victory at Ibrox. {Ed007's Note - Well Scott Brown doesn't know where McCoist's hands have been:

Scott Brown just became my new favourite player didn't know he ignored fat sally , it least his gesture was real.
