BR confirms no centre half will be signed. Last week he also said he wanted one more player in before the window shuts, a winger who can fill in as a striker. Anyone got any ideas who we could be after? I can't think of anyone . . .

Don't know about anyone else but Brendan's comments about not bringin in a centre half really worry me! I said before boyata and Erik were injured I thought for the CL we needed a top class CB brought in, so the thought of not even getting one in now they are injured baffles me! Jozo is the only fit natural centre half at the club! Yes ajer and bitton can play there but it's not there natural position! Think we're playin with fire to be honest, and if we do only end up signing one more player I'll be massively disappointed! We're leaving ourselves to short all over the pitch IMO who covers for KT? What if jozo gets an injury (again) ? What if griff gets injured? I knows people will say lots of ifs in there but it worries me!

Agree with you 100%. Why oh why do we constantly strive to do the bare minimum?
It is clear to a blind man that we are short at the back and up front and although all these square pegs in round holes have miraculously worked for Rodgers there is a time it won't.
Can I also ask what is the point in having reserves/ under 21s etc. if they aren't good enough to step up? We sent McCart to ICT to get experience and he won't get a sniff this season. Nesbitt too but he was playing against Albion Rovers on Tuesday. Yes Ajar was given a start in the first leg but he has captained a Norwegian team so has plenty of experience.

I think we're strong enough in ch and midfield even if Armstrong leaves . thought de vries looked good in his friendly games so ok at goalie . imo we need ideally a winger who could operate on both wings another striker and a lb to cover kt.

Perhaps he's become a fan of Eric over the summer? It is a bit of a strange one. Bitton served admirably there however, and with his soporific calmness he may prove to be like a new signing in there. Cover for KT is surely required tho . . .

cavalcanti apparently our cover for KT is Johnny Hayes and Calvin Miller, 2 wingers. With a midfielder at CB as well.

So we could end up with Armstrong at right back, Hayes at left back with Ajar and Bitton at centre half? Rogic, Sinclair or Forrest up top? At this rate we will have to recall Scott Allan to play CAM as we won't have any midfielders left to play in midfield!

He obviously rates ajer and sees bitton as an option so that gives us 5 when all fit. lb an area where he might strengthen despite his comments a mean miller or hayes at lb in a big cl game could be a disaster.

It's the same old story Niall! We never build from a strong position! That's Erik been ruled out til the middle of September along with boyata. so we're hangin our champions league chances on bitton and a young boy! Although I like ajer, he's still a young boy! Like I said it worries me how short we are in certain areas of the pitch! We've freed up some decent wages commons izzy ambrose toure O'Connell all gone and host of youth players released! And the thought of johnny Hayes playing left back In the CL sends a shiver doon ma spine! Lol. was expecting a hell of a lot better in the transfer window to be honest! Still time to do it but by the sounds of we'll be lucky to see one coming in!

Neither Boyata or Shev are good enough. Too prone to disastrous decision making.

The true facts are that if we wanted to bring in a centre half that would benefit us for Astana, we needed to have him in at least 3 weeks ago, to get him up and used to playing in our defence.
