CELTIC (4-4-2): Forster; Lustig, Ambrose, Wilson, Izaguirre; Forrest, Brown, Kayal, Commons; Samaras, Stokes
Subs: Zaluska, Matthews, Ledley, Balde, Mulgrew, Mouyokolo, Watt

No signs of the New Fella Derk Boerrigter, then .

Must be savin' him for something really special, eh?

The Sno Man

Believable7 Unbelievable18

Not saving him, he was not fit to play, but he will be fit soon and we shall all see what he can do.

I thought that we had plenty cover on the left wing and he must be thinking to himself will I get a game after last nights display by big Sammi. Neil must be thinking of playing the new guy up front - Sammi is on fire!

Heerenveen presenting new chairman Robert Veenstra this evening. Finnbogason's agent travelling to the Netherlands for talks tomorrow on the player's future.

Believable20 Unbelievable3

Now he would be a player to bring the fans in.

Agree0 Disagree0

We only have approx £40 million, how can we afford to spend £4-5million on 1 player??just doesn't make sense.unfortunately we will pay for this in Sweden.
There are no excuses, are you listening PL

Hi all celts I'm new to this page just wondering the position with kelvin Wilson and if he goes potential replacements.
hbhoy {Ed007's Note - Wilson will move back to Forest soon. Lowry from Millwall or Matt Mills from Leicester could be brought in. Leicester offered Mills +£ for Wilson but that was turned down flat, the player had already told the club he wanted the Forest move.}

Believable18 Unbelievable4

Ed. Is Mills not at Bolton? {Ed007's Note - {Ed007's Note - Is he? I just assumed it would be him from what I was told, sorry about that. They offered a CB anyway.}

Agree0 Disagree0

We have got to be looking for a top centre half-in all my time watching Celtic its always been the weakest part of the team. I would have to go back to Paul Elliot who was brilliant-we've had good central defenders(Johan/big Joos/Mark Reiper etc) with regards Matt Mills, he went to Bolton more than a year ago and has hardly played-this seems to happen at every club(since he was a kid at Man City) he initially did well at Reading but I wouldn't touch him-he's got no pace/isn't aggressive enough. Wilson has really impressed me latterly, it's a shame if he is homesick! Cheers troops, Paul

have mentioned this guy already, but Kalidou Koulibaly from KRC Genk. 22, 6'5", strong, dominant in the air, played France u18/u20, big contributor to genk's defence this season. Also can play in the holding midfield spot. Under contract till 2016, but offers (IMO) a lot more potential than the championship players we have seen listed elsewhere. jean-Pierre Laguerre

Expect slimeball billy to make things as difficult as possible . TTTS

A couple of other options I like are 22 year old ghanaian international Jonathan mensah from Evian - not a bruiser but a good athletic defender (6'2") in a decent french side, or Allan Nyom from Granada. Nyom is from Cameroon, and is a Udinese player, loaned to granada for 2 years or so. Big guy (6'4") with a couple of caps for Cameroon, 25 years old and should not be too expensive. udinese tend to bring through players who are good technically and can transfer well to any league. jean-Pierre Laguerre

Agree0 Disagree1

I don't believe he is going to leave us to join Nottingham forest, I know its family but that's a step back. Well now we need a new cb, got a month to find one I suppose. Just can't believe he is leaving for the championship

Personally I would never look past Italy for centre halfs-Paul Elliot was a nobody when he went there, 4 years later he was a big money signing(from us) for Chelsea, I'm sure Piza were in the Italian 2nd division when we bought him. Obviously after that Dean Saunders tackle he had to retire, I just feel the way the Italians coach their defenders is unparalleled. Guys like Baresi and Maldini are as good as there has ever been. Even look at Juve last year - I just love the mentality of the Italian defenders, they usually aren't the tallest either(which I prefer) they are usually better in the tackle/better balance etc. Obviously we can't look at the top of Serie A, but a mid table team, we would get a right good defender over there for about 3/4/5 million! paul

Alright, new to the site too! I'd be surprised if big Kelvin will be allowed to go anywhere until the qualifiers have been successfully negotiated! Then if he wants to go home then by all means let him go for the right price.

Agree1 Disagree0

KW, will go nowhere he will sign another 3 year deal, and why not he is a GEM of a player no wonder there are some small clubs testing the water on him, I would like to see GS, KW, JL, all with new 3 year deals.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is coming to Forest a step backwards?

The SPL is a pointless one team league to the standard of L1 or lower which you would win with your reserves.

Yes there is CL football for Celtic but its a competition you have no chance of winning (Well done last year though)

Forest are a high end Championship club with a realistic chance of promotion to the PL and we can probably exceed your wage structure for players.

No brainer! {Ed007's Note -

The last available accounts paint a very different picture:

And this should explain the wages:

But that is why scotland want to go it alone, big tv deals and on/near to a par with epl NF are not bigger than celtic and never will be, they as you say may have a way in to 30 million, but things can change in football fast, and let's face it if it was not for tv deal most english clubs would be on a par with scottish 3rd div.

Ed do you know if this 'Free Transfer' City are granting Ibrahim is actually 'free' or is compensation still likely to be involved because of his age? Fee or no fee, he would be a good Wanyama replacement

LM67 {Ed007's Note - Training compensation would be due to City as the player is under 23. Also the clause in his loan contract at Strømsgodset can only be triggered by an EPL team. If I had to hazard a guess I would say he will end up at Crystal Palace, they have already matched the terms of his clause.}

Believable15 Unbelievable2

I remember Paul Elliot's first season at Parkhead. He was not the best. But the next seasons till he departed he was one of our most outstanding and competitive centre halves. Some people hit the ground running (kris Commons who the tailed off) some people need time.

ED007: JELAVIC? You heard this rumour mate? Seems to be spreading rapidly, although these things do.Got a mate in Liverpool and he claimed it's around there as well.Martinez wants McGeady and Jelavic is not needed.Scored twice at the weekend I think.I can't see this to be honest. green jhedi {Ed007's Note - The only place I've heard it is me and the Everton Ed joking about, can you REALLY see it happening GJ? McGeady will be in England this window, there are a few teams interested but I think it's the fee that's the stumbling block on any move.}

Believable11 Unbelievable28

ED007: Nah.Not for me mate.To be honest I think the guys trouble. I remember when he played against us in Europe I thought he looked the part but he never really kicked on at them. Must have been you and the EFC ED that are causing this rumour!. green jhedi

The same guy said he would never sign for Celtic, just like Collins said he would never sign for Rangers when Souness tried to sign him.

Agree0 Disagree0

He was/is a great player but would or could he come?thought he wanted to play in epl?.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jelavic did well in Scotland because he got the usual darkside 'benefit of the doubt' from referees. He started well in England until the refs there got wise to his diving and his habit of standing just offside of the last defender. He wouldn't get away with it in a Celtic shirt, that's for sure.

TomTheTim

Agree3 Disagree0

I had a quick check on Jelavic and found he was on 45k a week so wages outwith our range. I would personally take him.

Agree1 Disagree1

TomTheTim, give the guy a bit of credit as a player, at times he tortured Celtic, he is a goal scorer and IF he did go to Celtic he would score just like Hooper did, and you'd love him. {Ed007's Note - If you think he is a goal scorer you should check his stats, they tell a different story.}

Agree0 Disagree1

@ED007 His spl record is decent. 30 in 45 games over two seasons. He would easily get 20 a season in the spl. {Ed007's Note - So why didn't he?}

Agree0 Disagree0

@ED007 because he only played 22 and 23 games in each season. Go figure. {Ed007's Note - Well D'uh!!! He still didn't score 20 goals in a season, I take it you're not the brains of the family?}

Agree0 Disagree0

@ED007 he would easily get 20+ goals each season if he played all 38 games. Oh Ed, you're so silly! 16 goals in 23 appearances and 14 goals in 22 appearances, . Seeing as i'm so stupid, why don't you do the maths and see roughly what he would get in those 38 games, if he could replicate what he did at rangers, clever clogs! {Ed007's Note - The facts are there in black and white. No need to get moronic, ask someone else to explain it to you. To score 20+ goals a season you need to ACTUALLY score the goals. Are you really this thick?}

Agree0 Disagree0

@ED007 Would and will don't mean the same things, ed. If you average 0.66 goals a game in the spl and you play 38 games, that's 25 goals a season! (More than 20, tricky to grasp, I know). Another important word is COULD. If he COULD replicate his time at rangers, he WOULD get 20+ goals a season! {Ed007's Note - If he replicated his time at Rangers he wouldn't score over 20 goals a season, because he didn't do it. Do you know what replicate means?}

Agree0 Disagree0

@ED007 by scoring 0.66 goals a game, he would be replicating what he did at rangers, and by scoring 0.66 goals a game and playing more than 30 games a season rather than 20, he would/could get 20 goals or more a season. Really not that hard to understand, ed. {Ed007's Note - He would also replicate the same amount of appearances. You're quite clearly an idiot. This conversation is over.}
