I loved the guy until I seen the team he signed with, just another money grabber in my opinion who basically used us. He was a top earner here on at least 25k a week and if his ambition is to swap a club like celtic with the best supporters out there and the champions league and everything that comes with it to a relegation dogfight battle with a championship level team then it just sums the guy up, if it was everton or newcastle or someone then I would say all the best mate and thanks for the memories but the guy is a nobody now just like gary hooper, not botherd the slightest so I would rather have boys who play for the jersey and not the money

@greenbhoy that's harsh mate about ledley and hooper. It was their ambition to play in the EPL before they even signed for us and they done a fantastic job for us. Norwich and Crystal Palace are not the biggest of teams granted, but to play against teams like man utd, man city, liverpool week in, week out surely makes up for that

I think personally a lot of the animosity is coming because people know in their hearts we are losing a good player. We move on now, its yesterdays news, I support the team and current squad fully, even the ones I don't like because they play for my club. And I also will follow the careers of any players that leave us, I like to see them do well no matter what they are just guys doing a job HH

Anybody know what the amount accepted for ledley was? I thought it was 700k and articles an people are saying 2.5 million?

If it's £2.5m then it has been terrific business by the club. I like Ledley and I would have been disappointed if he had gone without a decent replacement in place but hopefully Johansen will fill the role. I'm still a bit disappointed we didn't try for young Gauld at Dundee Utd though. I know his price was high but he looks to have immense talent and could have made a great contribution to us followed by a potentially great sell on value in the future.

Fulham bid 10 million euros for finboggason before they signed mitroglu we would never have been able to compete for his signature yet it was all people kept going on about. Hopefully now we can all accept he will never be a celtic player

You're probably right but he'll go for less in the summer as he will only have a year left on his contract. It's almost a replica of the Hooper scenario from last year.

It's sad the way football has gone OB1, it is now run by TV money. Teams like Fulham, Southampton, Hull etc able to outbid a club as huge as Celtic is tragic.When we identify any decent player that can improve us there is always a club from a cash laden league who will outbid us. I honestly think the way we are run is perfect for the environment we are in. Our dealings in the transfer market recently have been impressive, not all of them I know but Wanyama, Forster, Ki, Ledley, Van Dijk to name a few have put us in a very strong position. John Park is doing some job just hope he doesn't get poached by some inferior TV money laden club .

From what we are being spoon fed by the board and NL, that type of deal is doable but in the real world, yeah he won't be at Celtic as we are being sold down the river!

We had our chance last summer and done usual cut corners and signed pukki £2.6m. Add griffith £1.5m and balde £1.4m comes to £5.5m. I reckon we could of doubled our money in a couple of seasons if we got finnbogasson last summer

We were more than able to compete for his signature in the summer but after a second season where he has continued to bang in the goals it was inevitable his value would rise as other clubs became interested.

We missed the boat with Finbogasson at a time when he could have been bought for a reasonable price but because our board won't budge from it's rigid signing policy he is now way beyond our reach.

Tried to post a couple of days ago on here about poitr parzyszek who just signed for charlton I think? Polish player, 6ft 2 20 year old . 16 goals in 20 games and only 20 years old! Bet the guy is worth a bomb I years to come! Big powerfull lad with great hold up / link up and an eye for goal!

Pukki was £2.2 and griffiths £800k balde £1.7 m so that's £4.7m

After NL says "strikers are at a premium" do hope we invest accordingly. Pukki is more like stokes and will come good. Griffiths is a good back up for summer signing.

Was snapped at Glasgow airport about 1.5 hours ago. Player still needs to agree terms and have medical though. Will be very tight.

Heard we've made a bid to bring Derek Whyte and Matt Elliott out of retirement to replace Efe.

Wouldn't surprise me if we let him go. Would prefer to keep him even though he is a bomb scare! Could see lusting becoming a centre back partner for van dijk with Matthews and fisher fighting it out for right back

Any more ins or outs that you know of Ed? Heard we are trying to get a deal done with Falkirk for there LB with him staying there till the end of the season. Not exactly what we're looking for though.

The only offer Falkirk have received today is from Swansea for Jay Fulton.

Reports coming out now that the Palace bid could rise to as much as £2.5m. Bit of a jump from the 700k this morning. Is this true?

2.5 would be money not to turn down unless joe is going to stay? Would cost this or more to replace him

I for one would be very sad to see Joe Ledley leave Celtic .
He has got what we've been lacking in previous years - Heart, Drive, Commitment and Talent .

Not sure this deal will go through, just see on sly NL saying as far as he knows ledley is still in glasgow. Some rumours saying he is considering signing the new deal, not sure how true that would be though. Would like to see him stay, but if he's not going to sign time to cash in he's the type of player you don't want to lese for hee haw!

I'm hearing that Mo Bangura will be released before the end of the window (if a bid doesn't come in for him) so he's free to join another club after the deadline.

Just seen this on STV website now - it's been agreed verbally that he'll leave for free today according to Bangura's agent!

New Celtic signing Mohamed Bangura has been tipped to be as big a hit at Celtic as Henrik Larsson, having idolised the player in his formative years.

Bangura completed his transfer to Parkhead, signing a four-year contract which will see him move to Glasgow from Swedish club AIK.

His agent, Patrick Mork, now believes the 22-year-old has everything to become a ‘legend like Larsson’ at Celtic, saying there are a striking amount of similarities between the pair.

“Growing up his idol was Henrik, ” Mork told STV. “Since the first moment I saw him, I thought ‘This is the next Larsson’.

“He is so similar as a player to Henrik. He even had dreadlocks but unfortunately he had them taken out in April. But he tells me he is going to let his dreadlocks grow again.

“He is perfect for Celtic. He will be a legend like Henrik Larsson. They have the same style of play and they both play with extremely big hearts. Both have the same work ethic but also the flair and individual skills.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon revealed on Tuesday that the club have been monitoring the progress of the Sierra Leone international striker for over a year and Mork says the Glasgow club have high hopes for Bangura.

Larsson himself revealed earlier this week he had given Celtic a strong recommendation to sign Bangura, having been approached by his former team-mates.

Lol, God knows what Lennon, Park, Henke (forgive me Lord) + Bangura's agent seen in the lad, but we'll never know - 16 games (13 sub apps), 0 goals and 1 assist in 2 years and 5 months?!

Great business. Vilify the guy make him an enemy and treat him like a criminal. I think he also got threats. How does he deal with it? Easy. Just play badly and negotiate a deal to get paid for another 6 months then pick up a nice little earner in Scandinavia where we will see his true form. Bad player? Celtic have approached Dundee utd and have made a bid in the region of 750k for Ryan Gauld, surely this must be a replacement for Ledley, Also fully expect to see a LB join the club before the 11pm deadline seems like a busy day for the Hoops with potentially 3 signings and a few departures

Not a chance at £750,000, ima Celtic fan, even iknow he would cost £2-4 Million

He's no long signed a new contract so will never get him for anything under 1/2 - 2m I think

Supposedly Davie Moyes was quoted 6 million for Gauld, I really like the kid and would maybe go to about 3/4 but with loads of stipulations added - maybe 2 million up front for eg. I still think we are short of a bit of guile, and a bit of pace in the team. If Fulham were to come in for Efe, we would be left well short, he along with a few others are away all summer too, and with these qualifiers we have in July(at a neutral venue technically) well bottom line, I know I'm like a broken record, but we have money, for God's sake buy a bit of quality, the money ISN'T getting wasted, we are bringing assets into the club. As long as the players are under 25 we have a re-sale value! Paul

- Ledley to Palace, £800k bid accepted
- Griffiths to Celtic, £1m bid accepted
- Olly Norwood from Huddersfield to Celtic on loan
- Amido to Birmingham on loan
- Ambrose to be at Fulham this afternoon for a medical

Looks like this could be a long day and night for us Tims!

I'll get behind any player who understands what it means to pull on the hoops. Griffiths is a racist, shoplifter that can't look after his own family! I'm pretty sure that's NOT the celtic way. I'm 100% against this. It shows a disregard for everything we stand for and lack of respect to the fans and previous Celtic players.

Not a major loss in my opinion I was never a fan but good luck to him johanssen is a bettter player and a far more creative one at that just wait and see hail hail

If he goes best of luck to him, been a half decent player 4 Celtic.

Be surprised if Ledley agrees and doesn't just wait til the summer for a better offer. Palace will more than likely be in the Championship next season.

I may be in the minority but I'm not happy about losing Joe!

I'm not saying pay him more wages, it's just from midfield we'll have lost Wanyama and Ledley in a matter of months. In the Champions League, they were 2 huge players for us and its not going to be easy to replace (as already proven with Wanyama and Hopper).

Not seen anywhere enough of the Norweign to be content he's a replacement.

Thanks for the memory Joe, can't say he will be a major loss, good player when he turned up. Glad we'll be getting some money at least. Another decent player taking the buck to fade in to oblivion, still good luck to him

What a disaster, without doubt the most composed footballer at Celtic Park and he had a good eye for goal too. At worst case he should have been signed up, given what he wanted and flogged for a fee in the summer. But why Crystal Palace Joe, you are better than that, a team that will habitually battle relegation!

Maybe the Celtic PLC boards lack of ambition is effecting players.

Best of luck to you but remember you could have been great at Celtic Park, the team should be being built around you for years to come.

Stuff him, he clearly jumps ship under freedom of contract when he wants anyway. A couple of old firm (rip) goals and a couple of decent games in 4 years. No great loss and not even a regular starter anyway. Shows him ambition with 3 or 4 months in the EPL then another stint in the championship. We have plenty in midfield without him so no real loss.
