Exactly mate. We've kept all our big players and strengthened. I'm quite happy we've got more than enough to see off Motherwell and bring the title home. I do think we might move some players on in the summer but well done to the club for keeping them here to make sure we're champions by March !!

Sly Spurts understands Rangers and Celtic are battling it out for Portsmouth striker Marko Futacs.

The 21-year-old recently revealed he has yet to agree the optional one-year extension which last summer was included in the initial 12-month deal he signed upon arriving at Fratton Park.

A marquee signing such as the rumoured Miroslav Klose would've just been the cherry on the icing on the cake on a day where Rangers got somewhat of a hammerblow by the media, lost out on signing Jorge Claros as they couldn't even compete with...Hibs, lost Jelavic for just over half the 10M they all believed he was worth and look like they won't be signing anyone as a replacement despite dead-end bids for Grant Holt *cough* as a PR stunt *cough*. I don't even think the refs can dig them out of this one.

We'd be getting Samaritan worthy calls made from the edge of windows and balconies on Clyde 1 tomorrow night. Now we'll merely get a few tears.

My advice for anyone feeling like this though is don't worry - you still have David Healy!

Just got a call from a family member that was told by a fitness trainer from murry park that Ally mcoist will quit tomorrow after a big fall out after being told he will receive none of the cash from the sale of jelavic!
I checked out the odds at my local bookies and they have had a surge of bets on the very same thing! .

Not surprised yesterdays 'red hot' gossip on arrivals has cooled down rapidly in the cold light etc.....
But if I'm honest I had hoped for at least ONE signing on top of Brozek to help under-line our intent. Templeton's name has been mentioned by quite a few on here and he is not over-priced and a target-man did appear to be NL's priority so maybe a wee last minute deal may still materialize.
What happened to the Wilson to Leeds and McCourt to Blackpool? Nothing on Sly or Txt as yet?

Hooper will not be sold in this window. My old bhoy was at a meeting at CP 10 days ago where NL said that Lawell was out the country and he had been given authority to veto any bids. Will not be sold unless funny money offered but did hint that Hooper will be offered a new contract at the end of the season and if no deal can be agreed then it is likely we will listen to offers while he has still 2 years remaining on his contract. just heard from a mate that were in for van nistelroy and saw on sly spurts news the boy from falkir higginbottom has been offord to 1 of 5 clubs both old firm crystal palace hudersfield and some ohter team. out of contract in summer. imo he would be a quality signing for us dirt cheap petty wages and defo a player. reminds me of a bit like lubo..

I'd be more happy with getting rid of a few players rather than signing them. Hopefully get that CB in, then ship a few. 4-5 strikers (Hoops, Stokes, Brozek, Sammy + possible new signing) seems a tad much to me. Maybe the pursuit of a new signing means one of the three mentioned above is away? I know my preference

Ed, has the earlier story linking us with a move for Klose got any truth behind it? Where did the story come from? I couldn't believe it when I read it. I don't want to be the pessimist but there must be a lot of clubs (EPL, Serie A, La Liga) interested in landing him as he is pure class. He has always been one of my favourite strikers and would be the perfect signing, even at 33. He would tear up the SPL and help immeasurably with our European endeavours. I think this would be the coup of the century. {Ed007's Note - It is true that CFC were one of numerous clubs alerted to his availability and sent details of what the deal entailed.}

I'd like to say Ed great site, keeps me updated 12000 miles away! Josh Kennedy, Australian striker, plays in J-League, was top scorer last season. I think is a free agent not sure, but at 6'6" has done enough to warrant a second crack at Europe. He'd be cheap AND he looks like Jesus! What do you think?
