Weah is supposedly an 18 month and not 6 like reported?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

31 Dec 2018 14:22:07
I hope so Kev, as possibly 6 months may be worthless. It could take him a few months to get used to the league, where he could be under pressure to hit the ground running . Plus with the paper talk of other loans it doesn’t help us much going forward for the summer as we aren’t solving problem areas we would be just putting them off. I’d like to see 18 month loans or permanent signings.

So many names being mentioned for transfers for Celtic, Steven Fletcher must be in there somewhere.

Fecking hope not.

I'd be much happier with that kev, great that we have connections with PSG, and city, can't be a bad thing.

Bayo is on his way,2.3 million, Happy new year.

If Weah is 18mths i would be extremely happy as his contract at PSG ends then and he would be a free agent.

Surprised they aren't trying to sell him if he'll be put of contract at the end of the loan spell. Boys clearly a talent.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jan 2019 13:24:22
Can't see it being 18 months if that's when his contract ends.
Info came fae a guy that comes in my work who's gave me a few rumours that have been spot on.
Guess we will find out soon enough.

Happy new year everyone hears hoping for a good 2019. After the summer transfer window being a disaster let’s hope we get our targets in and have our work done early to give new recruits the chance to bed in. The boys fly out to Dubai Saturday I think so hopefully have 1 in by then but with additions to be added to join out there. Apart from all the gossip being flung at us by the press is there any real news ED u can bestow upon us that is a of real interest?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Happy New Year, Rich. Nothing new today from me, sorry.}

Don't see why there's negative towards Stephen fletcher, imo we need players with pedigree who understand what playing for the club requires not padding it out with more young inexperienced players.

If we need 2 strikers then fletcher and either weah or bayo is better than bayo and weah. We have too much of a checkered past with these gambles, think of the top player we could've bought by not wasting 2mill per gamble we paid in kouassi, scepovic, balde, etc.

Celtic have spoken to Tore Andre Flo about the availability of Tomas Kalas as a replacement for Boyata. Ed002 has said that we have watched him a couple of times at Bristol City, it's not certain but she understands that Chelsea might be open to a sale.
Solanke to Crytsal Palace is effectively a done deal so he won't be coming to Scotland.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

31 Dec 2018 11:22:15
I’d be happy with Kalas, always looked decent when I seen him previously and young enough to improve. As long as it a permanent deal I’d be up for this.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2018 11:24:46
So likely we will be cashing in on Boyata in Jan then Ed? What a performance to bow out on lol. Maybe that affected him a little knowing that could be his last game for us.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm not entirely sure if Roma (and there's other interested clubs in England, France and Turkey) are planning to offer a fee in January for Boyata or want him on a pre-contract.
If it was left to me he wouldn't be near the first team squad if he signs a pre contract with anyone next month.}

31 Dec 2018 11:29:45
ha ha ED007 when I read your first sentence "Celtic have spoken to Tore Andre Flo" I thought jeez are we THAT DESPERATE for a striker lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Flo is a technical coach to Chelsea loan players and youngsters lol. It's through him deals like the Musonda loan are done.}

31 Dec 2018 12:08:38
Totally agree Ed wouldn't be fair on the others and would be a kick in the balls to the club that's done nothing but good for him and allowed him to continue playing after costing us a CL spot. So he owes us a fee at least. Wonder what fee we could command for a player with a few months left and what Chelsea would want for Kalas.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Well we got £7 million for Armstrong - and he wasn't part of the world's highest ranked international team - so I'd say about £15 million 😁
Seriously though I'd be looking for something in the £5 -8 million region, we know £8 million isn't a lot to the bigger teams in Europe or any tinpot Pub League team.
I'd hazard a guess that type of money would cover the Kalas fee with some change leftover.}

31 Dec 2018 13:36:39
That's what I was basing it on really so not a bad bit of business if we can replace Boyata with Kalas with change hopefully can get it done early and it doesn't drag on all of January.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2018 16:47:10
I'd be happy with Kalas. I remember mentioning him after he played for Vitesse (Chelsea juniors) a few seasons ago and have seen other posters mention him since. I'm sure somebody even said over the summer they heard we were watching him. Since then he's impressed me even more as an important member in Boro and Fulham promotion sides. I'm surprised he isn't playing in the EPL to be fair. Beefed up a bit too. Would be comfortable in a back two or back three.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2018 17:03:47
Would a deal for Kalas only be done in January if Boyata goes now?

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2018 16:53:33
Could a deal for Kalas be done this month Ed or is he on loan with Bristol City for the season?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm sure I read that Chelsea can call him back, even at that £ can sort it out if needed.}

01 Jan 2019 00:30:11
Seems Chelsea write in a clause that they can recall any player on loan if an acceptable bid comes for them.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jan 2019 23:28:54
If Celtic are still paying him a big wage, even if he signs a precontract, it makes no sense to me not to play him and get your full moneys worth out of him, or am I missing something? .

Rumours are flying this morning 1 Weah agrees to join Celtic till end of season just waiting for green light from PSG and 2 Celtic interested in Oliver Burke from WBA Loan they are quick the day.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

31 Dec 2018 09:14:52
Not a big fan of loan deals for the obvious reasons but there is a player in Ollie Burke somewhere.
If someone can get the best out of him them he wou. d be a cracking addition.
Weah is a great prospect, but he is just that, a prospect.
Not sure if he will cope physically in the league, hope I’m wrong though.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2018 09:18:15
18yr old on a 6mnth loan deal. Celtic. Maybe another loan from WBA excellent.

As long as we can hyperbole about how good commercially we are and the suits get their bonuses.

Agree1 Disagree1

31 Dec 2018 09:31:39
If Oliver Burke can’t get a game for West Brom he won’t get in our team, we have Forrest and Sinclair and Johnston and Lewis Morgan so why would we sign Burke?
We need forwards, a right back, a centre half and a good experienced sitting midfield player .

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Dec 2018 11:13:35
Both would be stupid signing, a teenager and a bench warmer pointless, total lack of ambition again .

Agree1 Disagree0

31 Dec 2018 11:31:22
Weah is quality! Can cover both wings as well as CF. Loans aren't a long term fix so it's not sorting the problem out. Hopefully we buy players in the positions we need and not loan them. RB CB is a must and LB is an issue if BR has lost faith in Izzy and a permanent replacement for Dembele.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2018 12:05:34
How do we know he's class think he's made 4 first team appearances hope it's not another musonda and the boy Burke is strange as we have plenty wide men they need to get the finger out and get a couple of players on permanent deals so they can settle and we can build some consistency.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2018 22:11:07
To say the players we’re being linked with are underwhelming would be putting it mildly! 2 loan deals for a couple of young boys, one who can’t get a game for WBA! If this is what we’ve got to look forward in the transfer window then we’re in for another shocking window! How many times do we need to say that it’s experience we need! The manager has said it himself! We need men who can stand up and be counted on, not boys who are still wet round the ears! Disappointing if true but in no way surprising! I’ll wait to the end of the transfer window before I fully judge but I’ve got a good idea what i’ll Be saying in a months time!

Agree2 Disagree0

31 Dec 2018 22:12:07
I know it’s all paper talk at the minute but surely we aren’t just going to see loan deals this month. After the crap window we had this summer, which has gone a long way to our poor start to this season ( I know we have a cup in the bag already ) we need permanent players brought in. Weah could be brilliant but it could take him two months to get used to the league, so we may only see a few good months out of him. We are already staring down the barrel in regards to centre backs for the summer and hopefully champions league qualifiers. Lawwell has bagged his bonus, now spend on a team that needs refreshing badly.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jan 2019 00:07:31
Oh yes, let's all start getting pissed off by the usual paper talk.
Its the same every window because the papers have no idea who we are signing so they make it up.

Lets all chill until the players are signed.
And also this boy Weah is supposed to be one of the best young players in Europe, has already played in and scored for the PSG first team and is a full USA international.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jan 2019 10:38:58
It’s the same every window jonbhoy as personally I can’t remember a window where I thought we have really made a statement there with our signings. We wait, hear rumours of decent signings, Then hear the usual patter that we run out of time, teams don’t want to sell their better players etc . And we end up with a young lad on loan . For the last couple of years we have had the opportunity to put sevco into the rear view mirror and we haven’t taken the chance. Now we have a real challenge on us, not just from them either. We really need a big window, especially with our centre back situation and a weak right back spot.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Jan 2019 11:55:48
Burke is a strange one he can clearly play else teams wouldn't have spent so much money signing him. Don't know if it's attitude or doesn't train hard enough or fitness issues keeping him out the WBA team but he's not really played much for a boy with his ability at an average club.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it is intelligence issues. They called him blank hard drive in Germany because he couldn't understand tactical instructions. They would give him instructions before a game and he would just forget what he was meant to do.}

01 Jan 2019 13:33:10
That'll be why then Ed hopefully this is just Daily Ranger made up rubbish then.
