terrible news about Stan, it seems so many young and fit sportsmen are being struck down with serious illnesses. Stan will get many letters and messages of support from the football world, hopefully this will help him through the tough times ahead. All the best Stan.

Just watched Alex Thompson's latest report on Rangers on C4.

Firtsly, it's an outrage that the Scottish media failed to investigate this and it takes UK national media outlets to properly investigate this, namely the BBc and C4.

Tonight he looked at the payment of EBTs which were paid to Martin Bain, John Greig, many players and coaches.

Thompson has documentary evidence that shows that Bain asked for a salary increase and a bonus payment to be paid through his EBT.

If you salary increse and bonus are not contractual matters subject to PAYE and NI, then I don't know what is.

Paul Baxendale Walker, who was heavily involved in providing Rangers with advice on EBTs stated that Rangers problem is "that they did domething else" to that which was advised.

The EBTs were administered by MIH and they have confirmed that none of the loans paid through the EBTs have been repaid (not that you would expect them to be).

If this is typical of the EBT schemes that Rangers were runing then the outcome of the tax case against them looks very much in favour of HMRC.

Believable17 Unbelievable0

Funny how martin bain just dropped his case against rangers. what a face saving coincidence. wonder if w. smith and a. mccoist have been "loaned money" through this same scheme?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd bet your bottom dollar that they have and also that f*d Amaruso who's been bopin his chops over the last couple of days.

The other thing which I never quite twigged (although obvious) that C4 revealled tonight. Rangers would have saved on the Employee NI costs (around 12.8% at the time) on monies paid into EBTs and not paid through payroll.

Just want to wish Petrov all the best. He is an athlete, so lets hope he can fight it off. Celtic fans were excellent when it transpired of Brian Laudrups disposition. I'm sure all good-minded Rangers fans will be the same here. This sort of thing goes beyond rivalry. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

Two men have been convicted of plotting to send parcel bombs designed to cause severe injury to Celtic manager Neil Lennon and two other high-profile fans.

Still, in my opinion, not good enough!

Rangers fan here. Would just like to send my sincere best wishes to Stan Petrov after hearing the sad news that he has been diagnosed with acute leukemia. Great player, one of those I always wished was playing in blue, don't think I can pay much more of a compliment as a fan on the other side of the old firm. All the best to him, hopefully he pulls through.

Best wishes to Stan and his family. I remember him coming to Celtic as a raw 19 year old and the laddie had class written all over him. Not everyone appreciated him at first but I knew the boy had it. He is a brave hard working player who never shirked a tackle, remember the ankle break midweek against DU (I think) they reset it on the pitch. His goal against Rangers at Celtic Park when he darted in at the back after Sutton had opened the scoring I will never forget, what a day that was at paradise. We missed you when you left and even now I check how you've played or if you scored with Villa. Big John and the Celtic family I am sure will be with you every step of the way. I personally can do nothing but send my good wishes sympathy and prayers. Get well soon Stan, with a hooped shirt on your back you were and still are the man. Sopot Celt

"I suspect he simply explodes at the side of the park" These words were
written by ex ref Kenny Clark and published in the S*n. Considering the
court case going on regarding low lifes sending nails etc through the
post to Neil I find Clarks integrity questionable and his qualities as a
journalist crass. He should be taken to task and made to apologise for
his actions. CM.

i know this is celtic rumours site but i have heard from a worker at kpf in glasgow word doing rounds is that rangers will be liquidated immediately after new owner is in place ...this is to ensure that no other nasty surprises arise ....total cost of deal is to be around 30 million mark ....newco to be formed and with the assistance of sky tv...the spl..and celtic the newco rangers will be allowed to enter spl.but will have to endure a 2 years penalty - 10 points

Believable7 Unbelievable7

Nonsense. A new owner would not immediatley place the club in liquidation. The club will go into liquidation, and then a new owner will come in and form a newco.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rubbish. A new owner can only buy after the club has been liquidated not before. Get your facts right before you make up lies!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lawwell can pack his bags now if he agrees to any of this titles should be recinded and a longer punishment should be applied. I also think uefa are going to provide a severe punishment as Ra*gers have made a mockery of European comps aswell as the SPL.
