This might have been covered already but do we know when teirney is due back or is it a case of play it by ear.

{Ed007's Note - Rodgers said at the weekend that he was hopeful KT will be back playing by early February - I think the plan is to have him ready for the EL so maybe some game time in the St Johnstone cup match or maybe even against Hibs next midweek but that would be a bit of a surprise.}

Reports saying we had a 10mil bid rejected by Atalanta, any truth in this? If this is the case at least it shows we are seriously trying to get in a very good quality right back and no one can accuse the board of penny pinching, id rather wait for a high quality player at the end of the year than buy dross just now for the sake of it.

Not heard the fee but heard they knocked it back because there not enough time left to get a replacement.

If that is the case and we are bringing in the boy from Dortmund to fill the gap till summer then im more than happy with that, big IF but im forever an optimist HH.

10 million for a defender? Hope it’s true but can’t see it TBH.

Not a chance in hell have we bid 10 million for a defender! This is the usual nonsense we hear just before the window, we bid for this and bid for that! Ran out of time and more rubbish! Don’t believe a word of it! Now we’re praying for the summer window to arrive and hoping the right back we’ve needed for 2 years is delivered! It’s like Groundhog Day honestly! Never any intention of spending really money!

Gutman deal dependant on a work permit according to David hannah.

So much for all the rumours saying he went AWOL and we had withdrawn our offer.

Claims from Italy we bid for Timothy Castagne but were knocked back
We also have tried to sign Colin Dagba but PSG manager Thomas Tuchel prevented the deal progressing.
Now the boy tolijan is close to signing but his wages make him best paid player at club and there is a serious signing on fee.

Hopefully he will be worth it kev. I've felt for a few seasons that Lustig is a shadow of his former self.

If he has the qualities to make the RB slot his own then this is the type of player we should be signing no more squad fillers only players who can go into the first team.

30 Jan 2019 17:31:51
I thought that was just a loan with no chance of getting him in on a permanent basis Kev?

Toljan deal 'imminent' according to the Daily Record. Must be true.

Ed007, any truth in the rumour that Broony is staying on a new 2 year deal? Saw it on a fairly disreputable site (HITC) where the Melbourne guy Lou Sticca supposedly said they were disappointed he wasn't going to them but they wished him well at Celtic. HH.

{Ed007's Note - Most places are reporting it now.}

30 Jan 2019 10:48:25
I hope so Ed. He still has a lot to offer overall. Anyone remember what happened when he was written off a few seasons ago? He ended up giving us 2 incredible seasons of quality and leadership. I think he has it in him to do it again. HH.

{Ed007's Note - I've never written Brown off any of the other multiple times plenty of supporters (and his critics outside the Club) were but theses days I think it's a case of the mind is willing but the body might struggle.}

30 Jan 2019 11:09:22
He will end up doing what Lambert did. Coming on and helping see out games or in for games we need a bit of steel in midfield.
He brings so much more than just what he does on park though and I am glad he's staying.

A big problem with our team is that it lacks experience through the middle.

I feel like a lot lies on Brown, which at his age is difficult to do alone.

We Really should have a few more experienced guys about to take the load off and to help take more pressure off our young or inexperienced players.

I'll admit I wrote him off at the end of Deila's time but was delighted when he proved me wrong. However he's a couple of years older now and chances are he won't recapture that form but he will still have an awful lot to offer - even just his presence.

Scott Brown staying is a wonderful piece of news. He's been a tremendous servant and thoroughly deserves a two year deal. Yes, he's probably been told he won't play every week, but to have his experience and leadership around the club is priceless. Also, I'd imagine he asked the gaffer what his plans for the future were before committing himself. Great news.

Scott Brown when he is out injured I feel takes a few extra games to get back in his stride. Hopefully a run of games will do him good because I feel that after last old firm, he will hit them hard in next old firm.

Tesla you say no experience but at what point do we credit mcgregor or Forrest with experience?

Forrest’s been around a while, mcgregor must be 24-25?

Sinclair not exactly young or rogic so midfield has a fair bit experience.

Brown staying is excellent news, can’t only be a good influence but imagine having another mid 30’s Guy in there with him and bang and the pace is gone.

I think I mentioned this before but there was a lot of speculation that Bobby Lennox was finished on the day of the 1972 cup final and he actually played his last game for Celtic about 8 or 9 years later.

Looks as though scott brown is about to sign a new 2 year contract. Broony is staying for 10.

Not sure this is good news great captain but I just hope Rodgers doesn’t play him because he’s the captain he’s not in the top 2 cm we have now and will only hold the likes of eboue back who i believe will be a great player, I really don’t no what to make of it.

Think it's great news the man's a leader and even if his play ing times reduced he's great to have about for bhoys like young kt and Henderson to advise.

30 Jan 2019 12:32:56
I'm happy he's decided to stay. He still has plenty to offer in many ways. Does anyone suspect that this decision might give the green light for a deadline day Ntcham departure? Those Porto rumours went quiet anyway.

Few deals apparently near to completion.

RB -Jeremy Toljan
LB - Bryan Oviedo
CB - I don't know the name of as yet but there have been moved made.
Wing - Maryan Shved

Now that would be some way to finish off the transfer window.

Would be surprised if any of this is true. Shved is the only one we know is signing. That will be our business done.

Bryan Oviedo is the Costa Rican international left back who plays for Sunderland, very injury prone .
